I swear people in Thailand put 2JZ's into EVERYTHING! I've seen several 2jzgte mercedes and various nissan's with the 2jz in Thailand. They are the 2jz engine swap kings of the world.
He's got a point. For the price of this swap, you could build an insane RB series motor. N1 block, 2.8L stroker kit, large single turbo....and it'll make more than 1300 horsepower. Not putting the 2JZ down, I give it it's due respect, I'm saying it's one of a kind, and it's really not worth it unless you're shooting for > 1500hp.
It's definitely not the only one in the world, I know two R32's with 2Js in them in my little city with a population of ~100k people. Definitely a sick combination though!
in thailand, 2jz's are much much cheaper than rb26's.. and replacement parts are cheaper and more readily available... plus you get a extra .5 liters of displacement.... oh and don't forget the awesome custom work factor =)
I live in Japan and have a lot of friends with RB26s. I have a RB25DET in my skyline. If you only upgrade the cams retainers and springs the engine wont be hitting 10k for long. Yes they are great motors but you shouldn't exaggerate so much. Build the two side by side and you will have motors with about the same HP and the guy with the 2JZ will have a lot of cash left over. I have seen 2JZs with over 2000hp never a RB26 with that. Not saying it hasnt been done just haven't see it myself.
they actually broke the 2000hp mark. They have a video of the dyno run on here somewhere. I believe their best run was 2049 or something in that area. The 1899 was their original setup I seen that video as well. Now they have the boost cranked to 50psi or some crazy number like that. Topsecret has a bad ass supra with an rb26 in it but I cant find that video. I think the broke the 240mph mark with that setup. I was surprised the used a nissan motor in the toyota. kinda funny
wow that's a cool swap.....but i think that the rb series motors just have a much broader power band. it seems when they hit boost the rb has a longer power/boost band than a 2jz. high power 2jz's boost hits so hard that traction is always a problem
I paid $4k for an Aristo halfcut years ago(yes I have a 2J OMG!), halfcut includes eveything you need for the conversion, but everything replaced is parts off the GTR that can be sold, with parts left from the Aristo that can be sold. I couldnt be bother finding a 2JZ for sale but youre a big boy, go google it. I see them pop up all the time for around that kind of money. The 2JZ conversion does have its downsides, if you had any brains youd argue the gearbox wouldnt mate up with custom work.
i got one but its a skyline r32 gts-t and i put a 2jz single turbo 550 hp but the AWD its a fuking awsome swap men i cant belive.. and i got a supra whit the rb 26 RWD like the 2001 top secret supra i have fun whit cars and i cant stop tuning :D
love the jz's :) but i have worked at mendham engineering, who have built an rb26 block that godzilla motorsport has used to pump out 1400+hp. still only 2.6L as well.
Look up "Gas Motorsports 2JZ" here on youtube and you will see a celica with a 2JZ with over 2000hp. If you do that to a RB26 they crack between the 3&4 and 5&6 cylinder. Its their 1 major design flaw. Saying the 2JZ cant rev that high was the exaggeration because they can. I will say I am glad you are at least comparing the 2JZ to the RB26 most want to compare it to an American V8.
@tuor1984 Nothing wrong with a 7m-gte man. They are putting out huge numbers and have the low end grunt that neither the 2jz or rb26 has.Dont even bring up the bhg. There is 7m's holding up to 750hp on stock internals.7m is one the best kept secrets in the racing community. 7m 4 Life
lol i want a 2jz and im stuck with a 7mge haha but i will admit the rb26 is a strong motor, with a little more work than u would do to a 2jz, u can get 1000hp+ out of an rb easily, but im a toyota guy so i like 2jz's
The 2JZ can be stroked to 3.4 litres. The only company that does a proper RB30/26 engine is RIPS NZ. Even then I think it's a 3.3 litre RB30 not 3.4. The 2JZ sounds WAY better too.
@REPOMAN24722 that doesn't really mean anything if you don't compare reliability under stress... there is a reason cars don't have 1000hp on 1cc at 10000000rpm
RB30s may be capable of power but Ive never seen one making anything worth noting on STOCK engine components. A set of forged rods and pistons alone is worth $2k+, plus youre forced to use an aftermarket ECU with the custom engine. They have Holdens in Canada? (PS. Last comment should have said WITHOUT custom work)
umm they used the factory r32 drive train from the trans back. Just had to be modified to fit to the 2JZ. I have a skyline and am not to fond of the RB26DETT due to its high cost to build. I looked into replacing my RB25DET and when I found out the price I said HELL NO!
... i know the 2jz-gte are strong but i'm sure a 2jz-ge won't handle 900 -1000hp on stock internals, i believe that they've(the GE internals) been tested to be less strong, they lack oil squirters and the rods on a gte(which are stronger than the GE) will give in about 700hp, 850 at most. If you can find me anything on a car actually (not just talks) running 900+hp on stock GE internals, i'll believe u.
@Fernosej1 "this is stupid, a waste of money and time" You just described every sports car in the world slugger. But hey thats the point, have fun with it.
ummm no you cant put an aftermarket turbo on it for only 1100 and have it actually run... you need fuel and standalone ECU to do that which is another 2G at least.
To get an RB to hold more power than a 2JZ you have to spend mega bucks. A stock 2JZ is what? $2k? Show me a quote to build any of the engines that your talking about for even close to that and I'll agree that its a better idea in this instance.
2JZ'S are only better from factory, when you got a 1000 hp 2J and an RB30/26 head pretty sure the RB will spool up faster and have stronger boost levels, so at the time this was done kinda made sense for torque but, still 2.8 spacer and stroker kit woulda sorted that, so a waste really of both an engine and car, convert it back!
alot of shit is getting thrown, this is a hard ass swap he didnt just bolt a 2jz in a skyline alot of work to make a motor work with awd. and on the other side i dont care how much u herd a 2jz made on a stock bottom, a r34 n1 motor can make over 400hp with power fc injectors and fuel pump otherwise stock, on a conservative tune. thats gonna cost 2k with dyno time. outside there your looking into problems.
@princepersia1 Rb all the way maing, and pretty sure you could get an Rb up to 3.4 as its a 3.0 block so stroke that and your in business lol, and na Rb's head flows heaps better than 2J's so it'll be better all round, power is power but more about the original point of it being a waste of car and time
its 2wd not 4wd the exhaust and wastegate are there where the front tailshaft is supposed to be and some queer talkin bout a stock supra box will hold a 1400 horse motor a stock holden t5 5spd box can handle 1525 plus
why'd u put a RB26 in a Toyota, 2jz owns RB26 anyday(personal opinion) its outputs more stock, and its got stronger internals .. + swapping a rb26 would been alot more work than just leaving ur 2jz in .. so I also doubt u have this stuff
obviously the majority of you dont know the RB30 ... may want to look into: rips nz , before you say the 2j is better. its so not a better motor . . .RB all the way ...
its funny that u think they have identical internals when GTE's have low compression pistons and GE's have high compression pistons for starters..., and to get as much power as 900+hp is more than just slapping on a big turbo and with low compression gasket on GE engine, you'll need low compression pistons at the least.... oh wow and you can 'think' of 3 quite ironic.. yes just like i can think of 3 10,000hp 2jz off the top of my head as well... ask anybody here that knows about NA 2jz's
why not just buy a gtr and work with the rb26. waste of money and time dropping a 2j into a gtr. and a 2jz will not take 1000 hp on stock internals, it will however run 500hp safely on stock internals but the rb26 sounds better anyway
This guy wasting money only,u already got gtr and u can use ur RB engine already. RB and 2JZ is expensive engine,by power of couse 2JZ is faster. Take it slow little buddy.
I swear people in Thailand put 2JZ's into EVERYTHING! I've seen several 2jzgte mercedes and various nissan's with the 2jz in Thailand. They are the 2jz engine swap kings of the world.

am not sure that it only 1 or nor not but this car have 2jz with r32 body + 4wd transmission
in thailand, 2jz's are much much cheaper than rb26's.. and replacement parts are cheaper and more readily available... plus you get a extra .5 liters of displacement....
oh and don't forget the awesome custom work factor =)
Awsome! Id buy that Skyline if I could
I live in Japan and have a lot of friends with RB26s. I have a RB25DET in my skyline. If you only upgrade the cams retainers and springs the engine wont be hitting 10k for long. Yes they are great motors but you shouldn't exaggerate so much.

"give me the microphone you fool"
i would love to see this video dubbed with some fake subtitles lol
I paid $4k for an Aristo halfcut years ago(yes I have a 2J OMG!), halfcut includes eveything you need for the conversion, but everything replaced is parts off the GTR that can be sold, with parts left from the Aristo that can be sold.

Not the only one in the world.. in UAE there's loads of 2JZ skylines xD
good video...but seriously...recorded the tv screen?
Nice sure is something unique
The stock power diff is not that much...but of course the 2jz is more reliable than the rb26 and it has bigger engine displacement.
love the jz's :) but i have worked at mendham engineering, who have built an rb26 block that godzilla motorsport has used to pump out 1400+hp. still only 2.6L as well.
Probably the only one in the world that films the tv showing the worlds only 2jz..... oh wait
I dont know about that but they do have a few Rb26 Supra's
Look up "Gas Motorsports 2JZ" here on youtube and you will see a celica with a 2JZ with over 2000hp. If you do that to a RB26 they crack between the 3&4 and 5&6 cylinder. Its their 1 major design flaw.

Yeahh boyy.. See us Thai's know how to roll ;)
7m 4 Life

think they could put a 2jz in a stang if you thought that was a dumb statement type in 2jz camaro ss and check it out, very very unique
very true!
explain...why? Both engines are equally great!
The Supras 2jz is the best engine ;)
because i have my shop and made this car for a show and see that his only give . sry for the english im french canadian... :S
@REPOMAN24722 that doesn't really mean anything if you don't compare reliability under stress... there is a reason cars don't have 1000hp on 1cc at 10000000rpm
2j and rb26 are pretty much the same league
Ok i know the 2jz will do big numbers stock, but it won't do 1000hp stock for sure, maybe around 700hp
top secret has a few 2jz powerd gtrs
RB30s may be capable of power but Ive never seen one making anything worth noting on STOCK engine components.

being there in thiland id say the 2j would be cheaper and much easier to find than a rb26.
i knew that it was just that the harrison guy said an sr can hit 900 hp
Mazworx has a 3000hp sr20.
@kchristj bag to differ. rb30 is awsome. but till theres a 2000+hp rb30, toyota takes the gold.
... i know the 2jz-gte are strong but i'm sure a 2jz-ge won't handle 900 -1000hp on stock internals, i believe that they've(the GE internals) been tested to be less strong, they lack oil squirters and the rods on a gte(which are stronger than the GE) will give in about 700hp, 850 at most. @Summitshow with the music in the background... niggah mixxing ?
so...how does this car perform on track..??
I prefer the Body style of a Supra...
@Fernosej1 "this is stupid, a waste of money and time"
You just described every sports car in the world slugger. But hey thats the point, have fun with it.
2JZ is the better engine, GT-R is the better car.
stock power difference is about 300 hp between the two...
Put in an RB26, then you'll have a good car. Better gear box and diff.
anybody ever heard of TOP SECRET smokey nagata ??? skyline body 2JZ
you could not be any more wrong about the 2j using the same mission as the gtr
!! EVERYBODY !! This is the only comment worth reading!!!!!!!!
ummm no you cant put an aftermarket turbo on it for only 1100 and have it actually run... you need fuel and standalone ECU to do that which is another 2G at least.
thailand only
Probably about the same as any r32 with the same HP.
no i know it has a 2jz cause it says on top but, JaHarrison01 said that an sr20 can get up to 900 hp? to me its not believable
To get an RB to hold more power than a 2JZ you have to spend mega bucks.

ask me about ACN man ahahahaha .... i dont have time to play whit you !! cya..
arab skyline

Not the first for sure
obviously the majority of you dont know the RB30 ... may want to look into: rips nz , before you say the 2j is better. its so not a better motor . . .RB all the way ...

os giken 6 speed.. $15,000
u have money to do all that but not money to buy a camera to take videos of them? makes me doubt u have them...
LMAO at that guys language... cambodian?
มึงฟังรู้เรื่องกันอ่ออ
@DrBoyton rb30 is better than 2jz!!
This guy wasting money only,u already got gtr and u can use ur RB engine already. RB and 2JZ is expensive engine,by power of couse 2JZ is faster. Take it slow little buddy.
i know the 2jz is better engine, but not for toomuch, this is stupid, a waste of money and time
That's because you don't know anything about these engines.
Thats just whack.
pretty crappy video quality...
dosent do the 2jzgtte justice.
Put in an RB26, then you'll have a good car. Better gear box and diff.
