Duuuuuude! This is a game changer for me, I had a gig last night with both my bands and I use my PodGo with a Headrush 12” on a stand behind me and a Headrush 8” for a guitar monitor in front of me that I run out of the 12” DI out. I don’t have any extra room on my board for more pedals like a boost so this hack is perfect. Thanks 🤘🏼
I mean, this work, but besides the need for an extra cable, you can just as easily code out the fx loop to get an extra fx slot, and use the output volume on any of the other pedals, or add an eq block that will also gove you tone shaping abilities.
Yeah everybody's not a technical nerd to recode. A simple hack like this is way more usable to the masses. I mean if you're going to start hacking code you might as well just make your own machine.
I use KZ ZS10 as an Electric player. I absolutely love mine and have no issues. I don’t have experience with the ZAR so I can’t give an opinion but they are probably decent as well. Hope this helps!
With HX, you could also add a Gain block. Pod Go has a gain block as an option on the Volume block, but you have to give up your Volume pedal to use it.
This is easy to do on the other units at multiple blocks with a controller assignment - Just put a +2.5db assignment on the Cab Block for example. I have a Stomp XL that I have as a backup to my Fractal FM9 (moved from Helix) and so glad I didnt buy a PodGo over the Stomp, as the limitations on the go would drive me crazy coming from the bigger units.
@@guitarplayer1969 You can do the same thing on the Pod Go. You can also add that boost on the output of just about any block that's always on, so you can put it on something before the amp as well.

Oh, that’s awesome to hear! Glad to help

Would this fx loop trick potentially use less dsp though!?
You could do that for sure...but easier? I'm not sure about that lol
yeah...without recoding anything, the FX loop is built in so might as well use it for something

That is super cool!! Thanks for posting!
Glad you liked it!
Thanks. This gave me an idea for my HX stomp.
Glad I could help!
used to do that with my Boss Katana. Great idea. Looks like the FX loop doesn't have to be completely useless.... lol
haha...exactly
What is that electric guitar that I see in a lot of your videos? The one that has the telecaster control layout with humbuckers
It's a Gil Parris Natural ... I love that guitar
Hey man!
I’m a pro drummer, I need some decent new IEMs for church, would you recommend the KZ ZAR, ZS10 Pro X or something else?

If you have the money the Kiwi ears Orchestra Lite have been really good: amzn.to/3Utf9MJ
I used to do the same thing when I had my POD XT Live. Works fantastic!
Oh hey should have read the comments sectrion first😂
@@heritagelegacy so others did this 2005 also?
@@heritagelegacy I guess i didn't see that comment. My bad.
awesome!
I have a Firehawk FX. Has anyone tried it with that?
I haven't
In theory will this work for the Stomp as well?
Technically it should work
yeah....but the POD Go has it built-in without taking ups. block....the HX Stomp it would take up a block, so defeats the purpose

Stomp guy...not a Pod guy...but this is a cool little trick!
agreed!
