  • We need a rebrand of the brain and fortunately, it’s begun thanks to the idea of Neurodiversity. The concept of Neurodiversity illustrates how much like biodiversity in nature, the wider the variation in our operating systems as humans, the
    better off we all are.

Learn more at ted.com/tedx As Director of Strategic Programs for Potentia Workforce, Dave supports companies in becoming more neuroinclusive through training and support in becoming self-sufficient, as well as recruiting and providing ongoing support to neurodistinct professionals and their teams.
He uses his experiences as a neurodistinct professional himself, along with those in building, managing, and scaling neuroinclusive hiring programs internationally to develop and share how we can change the workplace to work for everyone. We ND people have known all along that we do have a place in the world, but for far too many, it will always be the place of "less than" and "other". Your TEDx Talk, Dave, elevates and promotes us. Thank you!

I’ve always been embarrassed to admit I have adhd. And I’ve met others who say it is their superpower. Until watching this, I could never understand what they meant by that. I know I’m talented and gifted but I process and create in spurts. If only I could rein that in… but I never could, so have always felt I’ll never be accepted. For example, when I look at a clock and it says 2:00 - And I know have 20 minutes to get ready for something - it LITERALLY stays 2:00 in my mind until I look at the clock again. I would actually think “I’ve still got 20 minutes to get ready” and go off creating or cleaning for 30 more minutes, all the while still thinking I’ve got a whole 20 minutes. If I don’t immediately decide I can only focus on getting ready and checking the clock with alarms, I’m screwed. Being me is very exhausting because despite how incredibly creative I can be in those “20 minutes” it’s not an acceptable or “normal” way to create/work. How do I make this a superpower? Please Help!!

Amazingly done! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 As a dad to a child with ADHD, I worry about what his work life will look like. I'm so glad the narrative is changing, and I hope you keep up the great work. This needs to be seen, and understood, by every CEO, manager, supervisor, employee. The point about accommodations being largely free for employers is also impactful.
