The bluesy music all through the video made me feel like I was watching and old murder mystery "who done it" movie throughout your makeover and it was AMAZING. I cannot even believe my eyes how amazing this looks. I'd say that this piece looks expensive and gorgeous it's almost like rebelling against your initial judgement hahaha. It's a rebellious duck! The faux terrazzo treatment on the top of the cabinet was something I had never seen before, but I loved how it turned out for you. You created a very successful transformation of an ugly duckling!

The paint chips were such a cool idea! I’d like to see it done in bright colors, with several different colors. Since you have so much time on your hands, (lol) you could actually make your own.

I hated this piece before, now I love it! The top turned out great!
In the beginning that piece was sketchy. It is now worthy of someone making a sketch so they can recreate the piece. I would appreciate it as a coffee/tea station, as an entryway piece, a handy and attractive laundry room storage piece, a bathroom storage unit, etc. And those are areas in my home that would benefit from such streamlined storage. It must be rewarding to transition 'crap' to 'Oh Snap!'. Well done indeed Twitch! In my opinion you are definitely the winner - as well as the person that eventually owns the piece. (The interior shelf not touching the backerboard is strange. I would have added a strip of the leftover flooring across the back of the shelf, secured it in-place, painted it black and called it good. Using a strip twice the width of the gap would create a stable surface. Definitely a simple option. I found that to be successful as long as the gap was under 3".) Your animated expressions are a treat! I can almost see 'the wheels turning'.

THAT is a true ugly duckling makeover! I got directed here from your paint chips video (because what on earth are paint chips used for?!) and WOW! I'm jealous of people like you that have an eye for what something could be, even if you don't know what to do with the piece til you start working. I never thought it would turn out this good. I liked the cane mesh the best too. I hope you won this challenge. I've seen a good number of the various ugly duckling challenges and rarely do they turn out this good.

From fugly to fantastic
I am trying your fake terrazo. After you paint 3 coats over the paint chips & sanded it smooth, I just realized you did not say what grit sandpaper to use. Help!!! I am right in the middle of this & can't proceed without knowing. Love your channel. Thanks from Mid-America!!!
I used 120grit sander, just be very careful around edges. Good luck 😀

You keep complaining about how crappy it is but you didn't have to fix it and it's solid. I don't get why you hate it so much
I didn't say I hate it. I was super happy with how the outside turned out and frustrated that the inside is in such poor shape, it feels incomplete. It is part of my anxiety and ADHD that incomplete or imperfect things like this set me off.
