You both definitely need to do the fireside chat together! Fireside with Josh and Tim and throw that on some t-shirts!

Why did the inner bearing nut (covered with grease nut) and bearing need to come out?
All that you did was tightened the new mylar nyloc nut against the weld ring (backed up by the outer bearing nut).
Just hold the VERY TIGHT outer nut with wrench, slide weld ring in place, screw on and tighten the new mylar nyloc nut against weld ring, done.
    What am I missing?

Thank you for this lesson guys.
I went with a standard grade 8 home depot 5/8-11 nut and a 5/8-11 nyloc nut. The total length came after the LCA nut came out to be 1 1/4" with these two additional nuts when installed. They both lined up snug with no crush washer needed. You can get a standard 5/8 crush washer from your local gun shop with no issues, just another stop. My welding shop does not use crush washers so I just used the two additional nuts.
My 3/8" Milwaukee 12v ratchet, 1.5 AH has more than enough power to operate my ultimate press.
edit: was wanting to upload some pictures to maybe assist with this lesson.
edit again: The bearing plate was not loosened with the mods that I did. Keep it KISS right?

Maybe this is a future topic to cover... how to read the paper tuning tears and what adjustments to make based on the size and type of tear you see

When are we going to get a video on how to make your power draw board? It obviously has some sort of threaded internal rods that connects to the impact wrench that travels inside a channel/track

How about a 12V drill instead of an impact wrench? Maybe not enough power to press the bows?

Im trying to follow the steps in the video and turn my bow press into a power press. But i cant get the nuts to loosen up. They are actually starting to strip and not loosen. That made me wonder, do
I really need to loosen the nut and why?

    • @juniharoon
      @juniharoon ปีที่แล้ว

Just to follow up. I eventually gave up on loosening the nuts and screwed on the lock nut until it was snug and lined up with the other nut. The screw sticks out but it works perfectly.
Here here to my DIY power press. Thanks MFJJ!!!

Looks like the same concept as a press. Punched square tubing mounted on the press. A piece of electrical strut with all thread ran down it. A bearing like the press to allow it to spin. Put two square nuts internal on the thread and weld them a couple inches apart to a piece of angle or something that sticks out the front of the strut so you can attach your eye to it. Weld some square tubing horizontal down low to offset your grip peg.

Think I'm going to puke from the camera motion and missed autofocus. Gimbal + manual focus please. Ugh...but good info on jamming your nuts up to make the in-and-out easier.
