I believe the Landscape Signal is the afterglow of a galactic Proteus Wave. A signal generated at the galactic core, tuned to the Guardian's biology by the Construct, eliminating the Guardians from the galaxy entirely. I think the Construct used Source 2 as the literal power source and Sag A* as the antenna. The reason why the signal doesn't seem to originate precisely from Sag A* is because in the 1 to 2 million years since the signal was created, Sag A * has orbited around the galactic barycenter and the entire galaxy has drifted through intergalactic space. The Construct has been influencing the affairs of humanity for far longer than anyone knows. There's no telling how long ago the Construct stumbled across humanity but it couldn't have taken it long at all considering it's proximity to Sol. Yes... I'm also saying that the Proteus Wave is Construct technology. So was the Mycoid Virus, so is Project Seraph, and so is the Mars Relic. In fact, nearly everything we've found that we're calling Guardian is actually Construct in origin. The Guardians died, the Construct survived... it's just laying low while humanity does its bidding.
The reason fdev say sections are locked is the doing of the Pilots federation, you cannot jump to a locked section due to the pilots federation jump lockout. If any faction knows its the pilots federation?
And the Pilots Federation is based out of Shinrarta Dezhra, alongside the Dark Wheel. The Dark Wheel is the best clue to Raxxla anyone has, if you ask me.
