The ‘Garimpeiros’ make a run towards the exit of the mine gallery; they have placed dynamite in the walls that will explode in a few moments. An abundant amount of dust pushes its way out through the gaping hole. The three men take their time for the air to become breathable again... They enter with a rapid heartbeat as always, but this time a gap has opened up, leaving us to discover a major fault, in which lies a "monster." A rock crystal that visibly weighs an estimated 5 tons.
This documentary will allow you to take a glimpse into the world of Brazilian ‘garimpeiros’ that search for the largest crystals in the world: the Giant Crystals.
In the city of Araçuai, in Governador Valadares, the miners, the dealers and the collectors have no limits as to the weight or the size of the gems they collect.
You enter deep into their lives, discoveries, and their traditions.
Along the way you will also discover the mine of Capon near The Ouro Preto which produces the Imperial Topaz with colors ranging from golden yellow to mauve.
Then the South of Brasil, in a town called Amethyst, you step into the depths of the earth to discover amethyst geodes so large, a human body in its entirety may enter within. These geodes were formed in lava lakes at the time of the great dinosaurs.
These exceptional gems are used in Brasil for esoteric practices and in New Age ceremonies which you will gracefully enter through this film.
You can then view in this documentary, the most beautiful crystals, which are exported to the collections of museums, such as the Museum of Natural History in Paris, now closed for the general public’s eyes to see.
You will then witness before you, creative works of art of Munsteiner’s Jewelry collections, realized from these giant crystals of Brazil.

These documentaries are absolutely the best. I have been around the world purchasing rocks and minerals from many of the same vendors shown in these documentaries and I can testify to the accuracy of the information provided. I have also learned a lot of things that I didn´t know that I didn´t know.

I love this documentary series. I went to this store in Minneapolis with my daughter once and I was just blown away at how many unusual rocks, gems and minerals there are on this planet. I just wandered around in awe. It's called Enchanted Rock Garden. I have to visit it again soon. I've always loved minerals. It was my favorite class in school. I think I have to take up rock hunting for a new hobby. There's nothing more amazing than what this Earth produces. Even common rocks are fascinating. Only humans make something of value but your average stone is just as awesome.

I'd love to see a human make an emerald. They 'think' they're making diamonds. But its not. Its man made. Only the heat and moving Earth can make diamonds.

I was thinking the same thing about her, what a hard working mother & wife!, ...I was thinking like ..."hey, why don't YOU sell some stones by MAIL now that you have been seen by so many people in the media?", she deserves better compensation. I doubt their "partner" was making an honest 50/50 split either. "Aloha" to you too from an ex-Hawaii resident (30 years), "Hawaii No Ka Oi" 🤙🏽

Why are humans so fascinated with crystals? Our fruit picking semian ancestors had something to do with color preferences, and it is a kind of hunger one feels when fondling a beautiful gem. There's something more though, something dark and forgotten way back there in human history. So far all of our collective memories still haven't remembered the lost secret of the crystals.

My ex-wife created a monster years ago when she dragged me to a mineral show to get 'New Age power crystals',which I thought were hokum and quackery. I bought my 1st short wave ultraviolet light there and my obsession was off and running. I collect and buy fluorescent minerals. The right kind of crystals from a limestone quarry or metamorphic mine will not only be beautiful right out of the ground, but will glow under uv lamps. I have yet to make it to the best fluorescent minerals in the world,Franklin,New Jersey, but I bought a few. What looks like a drab,grey-white rock, under uv shows 3,4,sometimes 5 different minerals, each glowing a different vibrant color. Astounding. Did you know that when you look at a naturally formed crystal, you're seeing how the atoms fit together, blown up to a visible size? Wonderous things! Please, look up Franklin,N.J.,and see for yourself!

I am investigating the supply of Chrystals, as I want to acquire one, and if possible, ethically. Completely new to the subject, I am experiencing a growing anger at the way humans exploit the Earth for these ancient items, which will take hundreds, if not millions of years to replace. Caught up in this dilemma, I would like to say that perhaps we have enough now, and all mining for Chrystals should be discontinued. 😎❤️🌍

That's one serious doobie at 36:05. Someone should sell Gilberto about six more light bulbs and fixtures to put in his "factory", and he'll need to get the employee parking lot re-striped soon. The lunchroom could use some help too. The stones come out of the jungle and are sold to people for use in medical rituals that the jungle people gave up years ago because they don't work, but now they have enough money to get real medical help. It's a beautiful thing.

18:27 Well then the collector should have offered a better price for the crystal so that the mine owner chose to sell it to him rather than take a risk of breaking it open for industry. So frustrating. I'm sure the collector wanted a "good price" but obviously didn't want to pair a "fair price".
