    I follow so many gem/crystal/gold/rock prospectors on TH-cam and this is beautifully produced. I would say this is TV/Netflix quality, but I think TH-cam deserves this content. Even though I'm not a prospector or even a collector, you've managed to capture the excitement of finding these treasures and make it entertaining for the viewer. :) thanks

    REALLY good production quality and I love to feel there is more of an edge, less "produced" feeling ..means you are making it look easy in an insane hard environment. The direction and comparison from any other show before this is WAY different and a massive improvement btw... AND the golden huge nugget of blue in the end is an awesome unicorn to have documented. Bravo.

    LOVE your story of mining being in both sides of your family! I have never explored mining of gem stones and founding your videos so fascinating! Because my birthstone is Aquamarine (and I have been attracted to this stone but find it too pricey for the super high quality ones like you guys mine. However, having coming across HOW you guys mine them really opened up mind big time! In my younger days, I skiied, hiked, camped, climbed the Rockies, so no stranger to high elevations conditions combined short window of time you are faced with! So now I understand why the high quality ones are so pricey :))) … someday I WILL buy one from you guys! And love most the uncut raw clearest ones best! There is a Tahitian Pearl jeweler in Hale’iwa, Oahu who rarely drills into these gorgeous pearls. Instead, he sets them via tension. I have a beautiful Keshe pearl tension set via a flat gold spiral embracing it. So was thinking … because Aquamarine’s hardness is so high, it could also be tension set!

    I’ve truly stumbled upon this “gem” on Mt. TH-cam and it’s pretty cool. Look forward to binging more videos. Also, video production is like Discovery Channel level - I thought this was previously aired it.

      You don’t have to use expensive tools. Whatever works. It’s not like they’re mining deep underground requiring specialized tools. They’re surface mining. A hammer and a screwdriver would work well in that setting.

      @@MrTangent I would've at least brought a 2.5 lb mini sledge to crack rock out of the way if needed that little drywall hammer really cant do a whole lot.. she could have opened up that gap alot wider with a bigger hammer and a chisel and gotten alot deeper to where stuff hasn't been washed out or blown out

    I'm surprised that there's no comments on the hyper-inflated values. $175 for an aquamarine just like the $15 piece I bought at the last rock show - or $150 for the smoky quartz like the $10 piece I just bought

    • @julianflores2050
      @julianflores2050 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most likely to get people to dig more since they think they’re making 150 for a 3in crystal.

      Depending on the location, some people pay big bucks for pretty rocks. But most Gem & Mineral Shows offer drastically less expensive specimens that are equally as good in quality.

      @julianflores2050 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      SnowTiger45 it is in some cases but I seen plenty of people deal in Mr. Antero material selling a single smoky point for $10-25. Those feldspar clusters are a different story tho.

    • @Terwin82
      @Terwin82 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, some of those "values" are just plain silly. Maybe they're using ancient Greece pricing, Amethyst was considered a precious gemstone then.
      A nice large twin smokey in a amazonite matrix, sure 45$ and above, Those things? 9.99-15.00.
