14:22 I love how drew is sneaky pushing buttons, protecting his baby while Vin is driving. Vice versa he's driving Vins 360 and hes just like yeah f* with it!
To kill the echo, I would recommend using a lav mic with a windscreen instead of a boom mic on the cam. There's too much space in the room for the sound to bounce around, causing the echo.
Vin.. your production of this video is brilliant and informative. Honest opinions about both cars is spot on. Your 360 looks great and sounds killer. The shots of both cars just sitting there was amazing, your knowledge of cars inside and out. Keep the up the good work and the positive vibes/energy in your life and in your videos.
for audio issues, look into some DIY acoustic panels. you can just buy em too if you want. but they are kinda spendy ...you can also hang some heavy fabric. Key point is to eliminate smooth surfaces the create the echo. rad videos so far
To answer your question about hollow garage noise. Adobe has a quick audio fix (I'm sure other editors have something similar) it's called dereverb. Combine that with a parametric equalizer and add bass, you can quickly sweeten your audio. Also, to be a lil picky, but mine does the same when I'm mic'd up, your chain hitting the mic body inside your shirt was WILD during your outdoor car walkthrough. You can put the mic higher on your shirt or grab a cheap plugin lav mic and clip that higher on the inside of your shirt to reduce or remove that chain audio issue. Love your videos and your personality on camera is outrageously cool. Keep putting out these great videos. Love the variety of videos you're putting out! Cheers!
Owned various 360 / 430. You don't need to go to N at a stop. It flips down to neutral automatically. Going into neutral randomly = clutch probably on its way out / or a hydraulic pressure loss issue (but more likely the former). The 360 is unmatched at the money.
A stock 360 is not better than a stock nsx. A 360 with a great exhaust like vins is definitely more visceral than a stock nsx, i think a supercharged nsx with a great titanium exhaust would be a better comparison car for car
I've only had the privelege to drive a few sports cars in my lifetime but can safely say that the most fun I ever had doing it was driving a stick shift 360 Modena on a track day on an old cold war base in England. I was fortunate enough to be permitted to drive it aggressively and managed to get it to about 190mph on the last few laps. Having loved driving my whole life but not having ever got into working on cars it was the most fun I've ever had with one. I can safely say that I love the Ferrari 360 Modena, it's an absolute joy to drive flat out. I've always thought the NSX is a beautiful car but never got to drive one of those so naturally it's difficult for me to compare. Based on the limited experience I have, I think I would (if I actually could 😅) buy the Ferrari over the Honda. Another top quality video btw, Big Ups Vin!
So sick to see the constant content man! I’ve been following since the daily transmission days and always looked forward to content surrounding your projects at Hoonigan. Having recently quit my own corporate role in the automotive industry to follow my passion for racing, seeing how quickly and successfully your channel is growing is such an inspiration
Finally new legitimate content other that DDE soap opera and nauseating content and click bait or boring Stradman or Hoovies or even stale boring Tavarish and Street speed 717 and worse VinWiki - Thank you Sir
I love Hondas , just traded my Porsche for a FL5 , but one of my favorite Ferarris ever is the 360 Challenge Stradale. That and the F40 are tops for me. I even prefer the 355 and 512TR over the 458 and 488. Great video. Side note, the move for the NSX is turbo kswap.
For your echo issue indoors/in the garage there’s not much you can do via the mic or the space unless you start putting up sound deadening. Easiest option is in whichever nle you’re using, put a de-verb effect on the VO audio tracks channel strip or directly on the clip. In premiere it’s just called de-verb. Not sure what it’s called in the other programs. Hope that helps
If you want to treat your garage for sound, you'll need acoustic panels installed on the walls and possible the ceiling if you really want to dampen the echo even more.
I wouldn't have agreed with you until seeing your videos but I think I'm kinda with you. Plus the timing belt being a bit more "DIY friendly" is kind of a deal changer.
need some acoustic panels up in the roof between the rafters, both in the garage and the office, can make some pretty easy, and can keep them looking good and match the style of the house so they don't look out of place. that'll do wonders for the boomy sound of those rooms. in the office some treatment on the walls behind the desk would help too since you tend to talk into that wall when you're at the desk
360 for me. I'd mod the heck out of it. That sound you have coming from the exhaust is killer. I had a 928 years back. Every time I drove it, it felt special. I can see your Ferrari does that for you. Enjoy
Great vid overall, but I love that you showed Amy's leather station and you sound so proud and supportive. Great seeing that! Cheers to her for leaving the corporate world for crafting. And crazy that I'm in the middle of stitching a leather pouch while I watch this video.
I really liked the layout of this video, and drew's and your opinions are extremely respectful and make so much sense. Love the mindset yall have for the two cars! Also shout out Jolly for another set of killer rollers, Never EVER see these two driving cars driving side by side!
You made the right decision. I love the NSX but V6s just only get so good. The busso is peak sound for V6s but is still not good enough for a supercar. The 308 GT4 feels so much more right than a V6 Dino so that should really be the comparison
NGL the 360 os a vibe the color and interior just hits different. Everyone has a red Ferrari. I wouldnt change the cosmetic aesthetic at all. The wheels are MONEY too.
@@vin_tra I get it. Maybe a paper product that has the same look as the tongue and groove ceiling? Otherwise maybe there's some software to remove or muffle the echo?
16:08 to 16:40 the way you describe the 2 cars in this video is how i fell and think about my C5 corvette. corvettes get a lot of hate b/c GM cheeped out on the interior and every calls them old man cars, i got mine when i was 26 in 2020 and shes been my daily driver ever since along with being my fun backroad mountain/ canyon toy. 4 years into owning it and im finally making changes, had to look through all the stuff to find what i wanted to replace stuff i didnt like such as the running lights, head lights etc the Edit was for the time stamps that put the comment into context
Bro there are foam sound proofing tiles you can hang on your walls to break up the reverberation in the garage. You don't need to get full coverage though, strategically placing a few will help. And you can get them pretty cheap. Just thought I'd suggest. Loving the content BTW 👊🏽
Been looking forward to these drops every week. Wishing you the best on the new content you're creating, this is the kind of stuff us car people love to see.
I bought the same Ferrari around 2015 for around 30k in the LA area too. Gallardos were going for 70ish around that time so i was like why not a Ferrari lol I was lucky to have gotten from a cool owner who kept every piece of paperwork from the work done on it. I drove it for a few years and sold it in 2019. It was a good car imo but i did all the maintenance myself.
I would say Vin didn't drive the NSX as hard slamming through gears to hit VTEC at 5,4k to redline it at 8,1k! You also have to put an aggressive exhaust system to have it make a better sound on that 3.2V6. What other owners do is eventually swap a 3.7 liter and mate it to the Acura TL Type S 6 speed. Get more torque on the entire power band.
Every time I see a new Vin_Tra video come out it is an immediate watch. I watch the DDE videos religiously every morning there at the #1 spot and climbing and coming in strong at #2 spot Vin_Tra. Your style of videos are perfection and everything I want to be watching keep them coming.
The cheapest 360 I can find is 79k . Most na1s start at 60-70k rn and usually have all their services done at that price. Unless you're only looking for a low mile na2 and also cross shop the cheapest Ferrari 360s; this videos math doesn't check out
360 by a mile. NSXs sound worse, sure would be reliable but that's the same logic you use to buy an Accord. For a supercar, I have different priorities! Edit: LOL on the parts prices, did not consider that
Hey Vin! Only recently found your channel by really dig the vibe, editing , and depth of detail. The echo can probably be alleviated with a bit of sound dampening on the roof and sides of the garage, but honestly it’s not anything major I’d worry about!
I'll be honest, I have always been in love with the NSX. But I think I would choose that 360 if I had to pick one to drive (even with the grandpa paint job). It just sounds so good! Another banger of a video bro! Keep it up. Maybe some sound absorbent material on your garage walls/ceiling would reduce the reverb.
Watched the first min of that video and that guy doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. Says he's owned a NSX, then goes on to say all sorts of nonsensical things. Timing belt change is NOT and engine out job. Parts for the NSX are NOT all bespoke. Tons of ridiculously cheap Honda parts are on the NSX. There are certain NSX only parts and those can be pricey, but typical maintenance stuff is beyond cheap. Especially compared to a Ferrari.
Thanks Vin, not a common comparisson for most people.. but for me this is actually really a helpful insigh on the two and I´ve always had gone in favor of the 360 more than the NSX because of the engine noise ha!
Remember the re-sale value is taking in consideration when calculating cost to own. The NSX appreciates in value and the Ferrari deprecations in value.
Service interval on NSX timing belt is 7 years or 90k miles. It’s accepted by most owners that the interval can be 10 years because no one comes near the 90k miles. Two years ago I did timing belt, water pump, valve cover gaskets, coils, oil pan gasket and baffle, clutch, and all 23 coolant hoses for around $12k.
Regarding the audio quality in the garage, the space is too boomy. The room is mostly empty, the walls are reflective, and everything is at 90 degree angles. Sound waves are fighting each other all over the place. Try hanging some heavy blankets to test how to tame the space.
This Thursday double feature thing you and Zac got going is giving Cuban Links. Speed boats and Ferraris. You guys are essentially Raekwon and Ghostface. Love to see it! I always enjoy the soundtrack on your vids too.
That Ferrari sounds incredible dude. I’m with you, that Ferrari undoubtedly draws out more exhilaration for the average driver/enthusiast than the Honda. As cool as these NSXs are, yeah, not the same vibe.
Vin, I'll be honest here... I didn't really like or enjoy your stuff on Hoonigan i guess. But on here I can't get enough of your content. I love it all! Out of all my subscriptions I have the notifi turned on :) You feel more relaxed and free
I agree with you 100% except I also have the notifications on for DDE, That's where I first saw Vin in vlogs. His edits / music in the videos is awesome!! It's like Casey Neistat meets the car world. 👍from me every time before I watch.
Dope breakdown, man. I'd go 360 and mod it, for sure. I like the NSX, but I've always liked the Ferrari better. I also tend to lean Ferrari even when it comes to Lamborghini or McClaren, etc. HOWEVER ... I'd probably get a Corvette before I got either of those, and it would probably be a C7. Oooor, hang in with me here, what I'd probably really do is buy a XLR and Vette it out. OOOOORRRR, my dream build, a ELR, tear out all of the electric stuff, and put the engine in the rear.
Hmm. I would still go with the NSX though (but a popup one), because of the looks, the community/aftermarket support, and possibly reliability/peace of mind. Is the 355 cheaper or more expensive than he 360?
Never thought I’d say this but I’d go for the Ferrari, that exhaust note and its character is worth it in my option. Some Desmond Regas on that and I’d be well happy 😎
Hey Vin, fellow follower. sound deadening panels would help a lot with the echo in the room. you can buy panels usually 2 by 2 feet or 2 by 4 feet. DYI sound panels with canvas and two by fours with rockwool, and then can paint on the panels to you liking. or get some online to save the time. makes recording a lot easier with less voice reverb in the room. big audiophile.
they're both nice... that Ferrari just need some nice clean repainted BBS LM wheels maybe gloss diamond black instead of gold, some black housing headlights, a different front end.. it'll just throw a cleaner aggressive look on it..
How to get rid of the echoic noise: Your roof is perfect to onset acoustic panels to each space between 2x4”s. Put something over 2cm thick that is firesafe and non allergenic in white and you will be very happy.
Agreed, @@vin_tra you can only choose only one or the other. And you knew this already so why ask for advice. Sure there are ways to make calculations and resonators etc but those will look way goofier if acoustic panels are too much.

I guess I'm finally an old man because I love your 360 as is. Stealthy until you click the loud button. Looking forward to the swap videos!
14:22 I love how drew is sneaky pushing buttons, protecting his baby while Vin is driving. Vice versa he's driving Vins 360 and hes just like yeah f* with it!
This is honestly some of the best car content out, feels so genuine… because it is.
I don't know how you can't smile when the RPM's go up on the 360. Wonderful sounds.
for audio issues, look into some DIY acoustic panels. you can just buy em too if you want. but they are kinda spendy ...you can also hang some heavy fabric.
360. but I can't even afford vin's so...
I mean I *could*, but the wife already wants to divorce me. :D
A stock 360 is not better than a stock nsx. A 360 with a great exhaust like vins is definitely more visceral than a stock nsx, i think a supercharged nsx with a great titanium exhaust would be a better comparison car for car
Stock for stock is even further gap between 360 being my preferred car. Never drove a super charged nsx but how is that fair
Finally new legitimate content other that DDE soap opera and nauseating content and click bait or boring Stradman or Hoovies or even stale boring Tavarish and Street speed 717 and worse VinWiki - Thank you Sir
sounds like you watched too much auto yt
I love Hondas , just traded my Porsche for a FL5 , but one of my favorite Ferarris ever is the 360 Challenge Stradale. That and the F40 are tops for me. I even prefer the 355 and 512TR over the 458 and 488. Great video. Side note, the move for the NSX is turbo kswap.
When you find friends who you can nerd out on cars with, are friends for life! Can’t wait to get my 360.
Please don't stop making these videos, content and format are super refreshing
I wouldn't have agreed with you until seeing your videos but I think I'm kinda with you. Plus the timing belt being a bit more "DIY friendly" is kind of a deal changer.
C5 Z06 are crazy cheap too
need some acoustic panels up in the roof between the rafters, both in the garage and the office, can make some pretty easy, and can keep them looking good and match the style of the house so they don't look out of place. that'll do wonders for the boomy sound of those rooms. in the office some treatment on the walls behind the desk would help too since you tend to talk into that wall when you're at the desk
Good! I’ll pick Ferrari 🎉
NGL the 360 os a vibe the color and interior just hits different. Everyone has a red Ferrari. I wouldnt change the cosmetic aesthetic at all. The wheels are MONEY too.
Vince out here making everybody want a 360. Thanks now I'll never own one
Two words: Acoustic Ceiling Tiles.
If the echo bothers you and others too much.
Man I can’t ruin my aesthetic though haha
@@vin_tra I get it.
Maybe a paper product that has the same look as the tongue and groove ceiling?
Otherwise maybe there's some software to remove or muffle the echo?
16:08 to 16:40 the way you describe the 2 cars in this video is how i fell and think about my C5 corvette.
corvettes get a lot of hate b/c GM cheeped out on the interior and every calls them old man cars, i got mine when i was 26 in 2020 and shes been my daily driver ever since along with being my fun backroad mountain/ canyon toy.
4 years into owning it and im finally making changes, had to look through all the stuff to find what i wanted to replace stuff i didnt like such as the running lights, head lights etc
the Edit was for the time stamps that put the comment into context
Bro there are foam sound proofing tiles you can hang on your walls to break up the reverberation in the garage. You don't need to get full coverage though, strategically placing a few will help. And you can get them pretty cheap. Just thought I'd suggest.
Loving the content BTW 👊🏽
Been looking forward to these drops every week. Wishing you the best on the new content you're creating, this is the kind of stuff us car people love to see.
For your Garage, slap on some Studio Acoustic Foam. It’ll definitely help or maybe kill the echoing.
Former 430Scud owner and would take non-Targa NSX stick next time. Assuming someone still has Supercharger for it. ;)
No challenge, NSX. Some things are more important than money.
You mean the JDM hot Boi vibes?
I’ve finally ordered my AG1 😁
The cheapest 360 I can find is 79k . Most na1s start at 60-70k rn and usually have all their services done at that price. Unless you're only looking for a low mile na2 and also cross shop the cheapest Ferrari 360s; this videos math doesn't check out
360 by a mile. NSXs sound worse, sure would be reliable but that's the same logic you use to buy an Accord. For a supercar, I have different priorities!
Edit: LOL on the parts prices, did not consider that
Couple times the dealerships people have left cars running overnight by accident. We refer to it as the "cooling system integrity test."
The 360 in manual is one of the most exciting cars ever. They actually are very reliable. Its the first properly built ferrari. What a car
If you wana pull Guys , hahahaha fkn hilarious bro
Thank God for TH-cam. I can even afford any of these but still get to enjoy them in 4k.
i never thought i'd follow ferrari content but vins videos hit
Very dope video Vin. Shout out to Drew. I've been watching his content for years.
LOL
I agree. I think people are going to start jumping on the 360 and mid them and make it their own. These prices are looking juicy!
Hey man, i saw you and Zachs "Leaving Hoonigan" videos a few days ago. I'm glad your having fun doing your own stuff now, keep it up brotha 🤟
Man bro keep up the great work!!! Your keeping the hoonigan vibes going bro!!
I want Vin or whoever edits his vlogs to edit all subs that I watch. They are so well done. The music creates a vibe when you watch the vlogs.
Remember, Gordon Murray used the NSX as inspiration and to baseline The McLaren F1 💪
I think a little duck tail spoiler on the 360 would look sick
I’d rather have the 360. Love how yours looks VIN! I’d also LS swap it with a manual transmission and probably supercharge it.
You got robbed!
@@jamestaylor3149 Do you own an NSX?
@@dmanatan 12 over 20 years.
@@jamestaylor3149 show me a place that does all of those thing and then some I didn’t list for under $12k P&L. I won’t hold my breath.
Absolutely even more sold on a 360. Love this video, and yours sounds amazing. Kline are masters. Did you get headers as well?
Yes I did
Vin, I'll be honest here... I didn't really like or enjoy your stuff on Hoonigan i guess. But on here I can't get enough of your content. I love it all! Out of all my subscriptions I have the notifi turned on :) You feel more relaxed and free
Dang thanks!!! Def a dif vibe than Hoonigan was
I agree with you 100% except I also have the notifications on for DDE, That's where I first saw Vin in vlogs.
He was telling Drew how to drive the car……. and Drew sent it from the jump……… Legend!
How to get rid of the echoic noise: Your roof is perfect to onset acoustic panels to each space between 2x4”s. Put something over 2cm thick that is firesafe and non allergenic in white and you will be very happy.
But it would look ugly
Agreed, @@vin_tra you can only choose only one or the other. And you knew this already so why ask for advice. Sure there are ways to make calculations and resonators etc but those will look way goofier if acoustic panels are too much.
