Just had another super smooth installation of V49! People, remember leave Vortex mostly alone while it does its thing, and if you get messages like 'Damaged Archive' Arissa and Grimoas Plantigrade Feet, just delete them and Vortex will redownload them again. As the video says, if Vortex doesn't move for about 15 minutes, just close Vortex (pause if you're able) and reopen. FOLLOW THIS GUIDE! Just 12 minutes of your time will save you a lot of frustration ^^
This was the smoothest modding experience I've ever had . I left everything to download and by the end of it, I only ran into the infinite loading screen cause SKSE somehow wasn't enabled but after that hiccup I played for 5 hours straight. And I haven't played modded Skyrim on PC since 2014. This is amazing man, thanks so much for putting this pack together!
Recently, I returned to playing Skyrim after my initial experience on the release date. As a novice, I’ve had moderate success adding mods and expanding my collection. However, I eventually grew bored with the trial-and-error process. Now, I’m as excited as a kid opening a present as I uninstall and clean install the game, eagerly waiting for everything to download. The fact that it runs smoothly on the Steam Deck is an additional massive bonus
First, I love your collection. I believe it to be one of the best available mod lists for Skyrim today. I say this from the position of having tried many mod lists, both of Wabbajack and Vortex based installs. I have over 4,300 hours of time in Skyrim playing. I am not a streamer, just an old guy. Nevertheless, despite loving your mod list I no longer play it because Vortex is not the best platform for large list like these. Why do I take this position? Vortex takes about eight times more to install on my PC then a similar sized or even larger Wabbajack client installed mod list. Once installed, Vortex has an issue with believing the list is not installed right randomly and wants to fix my install even though it's not broken. I know that Nexus is trying. I am a premium member with a gigabyte line and a good desktop computer build so power is not an issue either. This is just my own individual experiences; I understand that others do not have similar ones, but I thought you should know. I have tried to use the updated Vortex client even this morning, but the eight hours install, deploy, configuration process is more than I have the need to tolerate considering it takes me an hour or less with the Wabbajack client. I wish Nexus would support either or, so we the consumer could determine what works best for us. Best of luck to you though, it is an impressive list.

Where does Wabbajack take their mods? Plus if you are that old you have lots of time. I just wasted the whole evening installing this collection with Nexus's slow download. On some mods I reach my max 11MB but most seem to hover around 3-5MB. Then the game crashes at 3-5 sec load.
Yeah, I decided to download it to give a try as my first vortex modlist, but for my suprise, it is even worse than wabbajack to download it without vortex premium xD
@@DonAndrew Oh the download is nothing. The real pain in the butt is how Vortex can just decide not to deploy/enable some random mods and leave you to figure it out. Or the fact that it has a tendency to freeze during the installation process and let you wonder whether it's just a visual glitch or whether it's just dead. Or how the Collections website never remembers your login and you have to type it in manually every time even when opening it from the Vortex software where you're already logged in. Jesus Christ, I hate this piece of shit software so much. The fact that I'm biting the bullet and actually using it is a testament to how good the GTS collection is.
I had an issue when I did my normal mod cleaning prior to a new install/run, but I followed this video for attempt #2 and it worked perfectly. So far I'm really enjoying it!
Hi, for everyone that doesn't have a Nexus subsription its actually not one click, it's over 2600. You have to install each mod manually beating the point of a collection in general. Might want to mention this somewhere as it took me a while to come to this conclusion.
thing is i tried this one, just curious about it, then i discover survival stuff in it wich i really don't like much, so i revert back to my old installation on mo2 and it was messed up so i tried to fix it and it just go worse, so i bought the AE based on this collection i tried to fill a new one with mods of my choice but surprise some critical mods are not available for AE so really i'm crying, a couple more failure attempt to find replacement mods for the missing loved one and nothing again so i choose to turn back here. If i like it or not survival mode, this collection is really something that add immersion and a way to play skyrim pretty different from i played in this years. So i just wanna say thanks to JaySerpa for the collection and to all dedicated modders that have made this possible. For those skeptical i will say git it a try.

@@Axherion it means you need to fix a mod conflict (usually its the load order, the way the mods get into the game) you will need to fix how the mods load in if you click on the fix usually it doesn't actually fix the problem. This doesn't always mean it's the load order it can also mean that a mod might be interfearing with another mod, it's very confusing.
Ok so, i will describe exactly how i did it. First of all i have uninstalled my game and reinstalled it then launched it once. Before that i also removed all my previous mods and clear all the archives. Then i've waited for the downlaoding and the installation of the collection to finish, sort the plugins, deploy the mods and launch the game with SKSE. BUT when the loading screen appear, the game suddenly crash like 1 sec after. Please help. And sorry for my bad english i am not a native speaker.

Why are you using vortex instead of wabbajack/mo2? I'm completely clueless when it comes to making a modlist so I'm genuinely asking what the advantage is?
I installed the mod pack, but I’m running into A slight issue, where when I try to Launch the game it instantly closes after the title screen comes up. I added a few extra mods like body, modification, mods, and mihail Monster and the animals mods can any of those because sang the issue or did I do something horrifically wrong?
When the game crashes while launching it usually means a master is missing. If Vortex is not giving you any "master is missing" warnings, unfortunately you'll need to check on your own... I recommend just reinstalling the collection. It will be a lot faster this time around since you've already downloaded everything.
Hi. I'm currently going through your instructions guide. But I hit a snag. Vortex won't allow me to set SKSE as my primary tool. How do I fix this? Also, what keybinds do you recommend for xbox controller users? I noticed some extra controls on your other video.
I think this Collection is going to be awesome. I will only tweak it a little bit. I like Serana Dialogue Add-On instead of Serana Dialogue Edit. I also will add Kaidan as well.
I managed to get this collection running on the Steam deck with lowered settings and capping the FPS at 30, a lot of pop in on some places but still looks loads better than Stock.
I installed the most recent update, and it broke the collection, so I tried to reinstall, no luck, even with these tips. Is there any way to force the "optional files", or other parts of the collection control? Thank you so much for the work you have put into this, it is lovely. -edit- Also I am getting redundant mods?
Hi! Below the answers to your questions: Optional files: sometimes when updating Vortex decides not to ask you if you want the optional files (unfortunately). The good news is that you can easily enable them from the "Mods" menu. They're conveniently renamed so it's easy to know what it is you need to enable. Redundant mods: When updating the collection, sometimes the files are downloaded again as "new mods" opposed to "updates to old mods". This means basically that Vortex will ask you if you want to delete X mods when installing the collection, mods that you might be like "why is Jay removing that?!?!?!?", well I'm not, it's just an update lol. You should AGREE to having those files removed, as they're just going to be re-downloaded again. If for some reason you didn't agree to having those files removed, you will get redundant files, which you will need to remove manually... just make sure you delete the old version of the mod and not the new one. Hope that helps!

I have done everything exactly how I'm supposed to and it won't work. If I set SKSE as primary the game immediately crashes, if I don't then it just loads forever
I can't find your discord so I'm asking here. Whenever I play the mod pack I get an error saying that "po3's tweaks is required for FormListManipulator to work. Install it....." I have the mod installed and enabled in the mods. I tried deploying and sorting now, but the game doesn't detect the mod. I checked that the mod is downloaded for the special edition and I've tried reinstalling it a couple of times. Could you possibly give me tips to get this mod working?
I know this is a few months old, but can you think of any reason why it would be crashing upon launching skse? It gets to the loading screen but after a few seconds it crashes
@@garslouche3593 Okay so I think my issue was maybe I didn’t install the additional mods as I’ve got anniversary edition? If you have anniversary edition as well and didn’t do that you may need to, if not then maybe just try to uninstall and re install it?
Hi, I just downloaded the collection and I'm having a problem. I don't know if it's a bug or something on purpose, but I can't reduce the graphics. I mean, I lower the graphics in the settings, but nothing happens and when I go back to the settings menu, everything went back to normal. to the maximum

Mine just keeps crashing on the bethesda logo. I've tried deleting the files recommended, running through SKSE, with and without FNIS, sort plugins and deploy mods. I even fresh reinstalled skyrim before this Edit: Downloading the optional files titled "Anniversary" fixed it somehow
Hey, when I install the collections it says the SKSE Engine Fixer Part 2 disables all of my plugins whenever I try to launch, and if I disable it I just get stuck in an infinite loading screen. I tried resetting the primary and I'm not sure what else to try.
I had this once already I believe.. and the "one click instalation" did not work for me.. had to click few.. hundreds.. times. Thanks to nexus not being able and willing to accept my money. I could not sub for premium.. so I had to click everything manually. After almost year it works, so I'm downloading it :-) After seeing "The Spiffing Brit" playing it on stream.. I just had to try it out.. :-) To be fair.. I do not know why but I was kicked from your mod page like 20 times and always told "Try to log in with different account" Not sure what that was... I hope more people will try this mod.. it really looks superbly done. That SKSE you mentioned at the end, Vortex tells you that after you activate the game for modding, first things its shows in "Allerts" on top right "Mods cannot be deployed, missing SKSE". With few more alerts, that helps a bit too.
Please if anyone comes across this please help. Arissa- The wandering rogue says incompatible mod archive and for some dumb reason a lot of plugins depend on this mod so I can’t even remove it..

Can anyone help me at all? I'm trying to start the main quest but no matter what a bug arises. Whether it's the carts getting stuck, the player character wandering in the intro cutscene, or the high hrothgar option not even bothering to start.

What about a message that says: loose files may get not loaded, due to oddities in the game engine, some loose files will not get loaded unless we change the lifetime on the vanilla BSA/BA2 files. Should I click on FIX?
The game is working fine but when I first open the game there is a Open animation replacer pop up on screen that says "Major issue detected, open the open animation replacer menu by pressing shift o and click the bar at the bottom for more information" and I have done that and I have tried selecting different settings in the menu but nothing gets rid of it? I am fairly new to this kind of stuff so im not sure what to do.
Hey Jay, new to PC and modding. I'm having an issue with installation. I managed to get vortex running and everything set up fine, but once I started downloading it stops the download and tells me to check dependancies like in the video. only it tells me to install from the nexus page. Then it tells me that I can't install dependancies because it doesn't have access to my skse69 file, I think, which I believe is the Skyrim script extender. Did I do something wrong or am I running into an issue not described in your video? Any help would be much appreciated, I very much look forward to playing with this mod as a knew PC user and longtime Skyrim enjoyer.
Is it bad if all the mods are enabled? All my mods are enabled and they didnt automatically disable themselves, is there a way to automatically disable the mods that are meant to be disabled in the modpack or do i have to manually disable all the mods myself? If so, what mods are meant to be disabled?
Yes, you should disable them for the intended experience. Not sure if the game runs fine with all of them enabled. You can A) reinstall the collection, it will be much faster since you won't have to downalod the mods again or B) manually disable the mods that should be disabled, the list is shown in minute 10:45
Ok, so I'm doing this with a fresh installation of Skyrim: SE. Now, I see that you say that you need to download the CC (Creation Club) Free DLCs if you have the Anniversary Edition, but do you have to download those no matter what or just if you have the AE? I just want to make sure I do this right. I will withhold my questions about Shaders/ENBs until I have watched the whole video. The collection supports both the AE upgrade and those without it. If you've purchased it, make sure to download the mods and click YES to installing the optional plugins when the collection asks.
Once fully set up you could launch from steam or from a shortcut in your desktop without having to launch vortex. However, you must run it through skse. I believe renaming the skse exe will allow you to launch it from steam, but you'd have to Google it.
It said a couple mods are already installed and if i would like to replace them or install as a variant if i use suggested load order and some of them dont have a suggested load order (???), how do i know what to pick its telling me its missing masters, none of which are in my mods or plugins tab

How would you go about installing an enb for this list? Should I install the enb beforehand or do it after downloading the collection and just let it win any conflict?
Loving the modlist so far, but I'd like to be able to disable the mod that makes the game not pause when in the UI if possible, it makes it almost impossible to block attacks when you're trying to play like a spellsword. Any tips on how I could do that?
Hi! Thanks for this guide! I wanted to ask something that didn't show up here. This is my first time downloading a collection, so I'm not sure if it's always like that, but during the download I got multiple pop up messages, one for each mod, or almost all of them, telling me I had to download the mods from the website. And having to do this for all of the 1000 mods it's quite overwhelming, is it a problem that's happening to me or it's normal? Edit: apparently is a thig of not owning premium, I have to manually install one by one. Now, I was wondering if I cancel one of the downloads, does the installation pauses and I can continue where I left it later?
I'm really sorry to ask, but I would rather ask then try and trouble shoot for hours just to realize it doesn't work. The perk tree mod that is in GTS as you know is Adamant but is it possible to disable adamant and use ordinator instead? Again sorry for asking and thank you
Quick question: Are you solely uploading mods for the most recent version of Skyrim from now on? I keep playing on 1.5 and the last mod I installed was your College overhaul so I'm not sure at what point the next mods stop supporting it.
hey there, when i download the mod it begins asking me to download every single mod manually from nexus. So i can choose between download, skip and cancel. How do i fix this?
You have to get Nexus Premium if you want collections/lists to download the mods automatically for you, otherwise you need to download them all one by one.
So I installed this a couple times yesterday, each time, it finished downloading 1330 mods, then it restarted and started downloading it all again. Everything is done correctly, no idea.

I havent used vortex before and its been years since i did skyrim modding so please forgive me if i annoy ❤️ I loved the Kaidan mod on xbox... but Immersive Features wasnt in your modlist, it adds more quests, dialog etc as well as animations for kaidan and player interacting (no sex mods) Could i DL with vortext or install manually to vortex folder? It needs to run through nemesis with other animation files together (i hope im saying that right) in order for all the animations to play nice. Is there a way for me to run nemesis in that vortex file so i can make them all work together? I dont want to screw up the modlist, but Im playing skyrim to play the lastest Kaidan and your list is my play style❤❤❤❤
i do 170mb/s and the installation is taking forever, like rn i'm at 41% for ~2h of downloading. I have maxed out the Download Threads and i have unlimited bandwidth. Is this normal ?

Ive been playing this collection for a few days now (loving it, really well done) I had one question though. All cities in the game look great and have new things to explore apart from Markarth and Riften which seem pretty Vanilla to me. Is there any reason for that? Could I add JK's cities & outskirts mods to expand them a bit or will it cause issues for those two cities?

I'm having issues with the mod. when I launch the game it starts to load the shaders then crashes
4 months late but, the pack says you can disable Community Shaders if need be.
But also, double and triple check you launch through SKSE, not Steam.

@@Axherion it means you need to fix a mod conflict (usually its the load order, the way the mods get into the game) you will need to fix how the mods load in if you click on the fix usually it doesn't actually fix the problem. This doesn't always mean it's the load order it can also mean that a mod might be interfearing with another mod, it's very confusing.

Finding this very late courtesy of Spiffing Brit. Is it OK to clean the "dirty" mods that LOOT/Vortex finds, or should we just leave them as-is?

During download, why do I keep getting asked to make choices? I don't even know what all mods are on this list so how can I make choices?
Ok so, i will describe exactly how i did it.
First of all i have uninstalled my game and reinstalled it then launched it once.
Before that i also removed all my previous mods and clear all the archives.
Then i've waited for the downlaoding and the installation of the collection to finish, sort the plugins, deploy the mods and launch the game with SKSE.
BUT when the loading screen appear, the game suddenly crash like 1 sec after.
Please help.

Never excuse something that people haven't bullied you for! Your English is fine! The big problem is this collection that seems to crash for many people!
Why are you using vortex instead of wabbajack/mo2? I'm completely clueless when it comes to making a modlist so I'm genuinely asking what the advantage is?
Wabbajack users have plenty of modlists available, there are not so many on Vortex.

I installed the mod pack, but I’m running into A slight issue, where when I try to Launch the game it instantly closes after the title screen comes up. I added a few extra mods like body, modification, mods, and mihail Monster and the animals mods can any of those because sang the issue or did I do something horrifically wrong?
When the game crashes while launching it usually means a master is missing. If Vortex is not giving you any "master is missing" warnings, unfortunately you'll need to check on your own... I recommend just reinstalling the collection. It will be a lot faster this time around since you've already downloaded everything.

Hi. I'm currently going through your instructions guide. But I hit a snag. Vortex won't allow me to set SKSE as my primary tool. How do I fix this?

I think this Collection is going to be awesome. I will only tweak it a little bit. I like Serana Dialogue Add-On instead of Serana Dialogue Edit. I also will add Kaidan as well.
Kaidan is already in the pack for a while now!

I managed to get this collection running on the Steam deck with lowered settings and capping the FPS at 30, a lot of pop in on some places but still looks loads better than Stock.
I installed the most recent update, and it broke the collection, so I tried to reinstall, no luck, even with these tips.
Is there any way to force the "optional files", or other parts of the collection control?

Hi! Below the answers to your questions:
Optional files: sometimes when updating Vortex decides not to ask you if you want the optional files (unfortunately). The good news is that you can easily enable them from the "Mods" menu. They're conveniently renamed so it's easy to know what it is you need to enable.
Redundant mods: When updating the collection, sometimes the files are downloaded again as "new mods" opposed to "updates to old mods". This means basically that Vortex will ask you if you want to delete X mods when installing the collection, mods that you might be like "why is Jay removing that?!?!?!?", well I'm not, it's just an update lol. You should AGREE to having those files removed, as they're just going to be re-downloaded again. If for some reason you didn't agree to having those files removed, you will get redundant files, which you will need to remove manually... just make sure you delete the old version of the mod and not the new one.

I have done everything exactly how I'm supposed to and it won't work. If I set SKSE as primary the game immediately crashes, if I don't then it just loads forever

I can't find your discord so I'm asking here. Whenever I play the mod pack I get an error saying that "po3's tweaks is required for FormListManipulator to work. Install it....." I have the mod installed and enabled in the mods. I tried deploying and sorting now, but the game doesn't detect the mod. I checked that the mod is downloaded for the special edition and I've tried reinstalling it a couple of times. Could you possibly give me tips to get this mod working?
I know this is a few months old, but can you think of any reason why it would be crashing upon launching skse? It gets to the loading screen but after a few seconds it crashes

@@garslouche3593 Okay so I think my issue was maybe I didn’t install the additional mods as I’ve got anniversary edition? If you have anniversary edition as well and didn’t do that you may need to, if not then maybe just try to uninstall and re install it?

I mean, I lower the graphics in the settings, but nothing happens and when I go back to the settings menu, everything went back to normal. to the maximum

Mine just keeps crashing on the bethesda logo. I've tried deleting the files recommended, running through SKSE, with and without FNIS, sort plugins and deploy mods. I even fresh reinstalled skyrim before this
Edit: Downloading the optional files titled "Anniversary" fixed it somehow

Hey, when I install the collections it says the SKSE Engine Fixer Part 2 disables all of my plugins whenever I try to launch, and if I disable it I just get stuck in an infinite loading screen. I tried resetting the primary and I'm not sure what else to try.
I had this once already I believe.. and the "one click instalation" did not work for me.. had to click few.. hundreds.. times. Thanks to nexus not being able and willing to accept my money. I could not sub for premium.. so I had to click everything manually.
After almost year it works, so I'm downloading it :-) After seeing "The Spiffing Brit" playing it on stream.. I just had to try it out.. :-)
To be fair.. I do not know why but I was kicked from your mod page like 20 times and always told "Try to log in with different account" Not sure what that was... I hope more people will try this mod.. it really looks superbly done.
That SKSE you mentioned at the end, Vortex tells you that after you activate the game for modding, first things its shows in "Allerts" on top right "Mods cannot be deployed, missing SKSE". With few more alerts, that helps a bit too.
Please if anyone comes across this please help. Arissa- The wandering rogue says incompatible mod archive and for some dumb reason a lot of plugins depend on this mod so I can’t even remove it..
Hey Jay, I just downloaded the collection and it’s great! The only thing is, I’d like to change the grass and trees. (Possibly folkscar and happy little trees) Is that possible to do without messing up your collection?
Can anyone help me at all? I'm trying to start the main quest but no matter what a bug arises. Whether it's the carts getting stuck, the player character wandering in the intro cutscene, or the high hrothgar option not even bothering to start.

What about a message that says: loose files may get not loaded, due to oddities in the game engine, some loose files will not get loaded unless we change the lifetime on the vanilla BSA/BA2 files. Should I click on FIX?
The game is working fine but when I first open the game there is a Open animation replacer pop up on screen that says "Major issue detected, open the open animation replacer menu by pressing shift o and click the bar at the bottom for more information" and I have done that and I have tried selecting different settings in the menu but nothing gets rid of it? Hey Jay, new to PC and modding. I'm having an issue with installation. I managed to get vortex running and everything set up fine, but once I started downloading it stops the download and tells me to check dependancies like in the video. only it tells me to install from the nexus page. Then it tells me that I can't install dependancies because it doesn't have access to my skse69 file, I think, which I believe is the Skyrim script extender. Did I do something wrong or am I running into an issue not described in your video? Any help would be much appreciated, I very much look forward to playing with this mod as a knew PC user and longtime Skyrim enjoyer.

All my mods are enabled and they didnt automatically disable themselves, is there a way to automatically disable the mods that are meant to be disabled in the modpack or do i have to manually disable all the mods myself? If so, what mods are meant to be disabled?
Yes, you should disable them for the intended experience. Not sure if the game runs fine with all of them enabled. You can A) reinstall the collection, it will be much faster since you won't have to downalod the mods again or B) manually disable the mods that should be disabled, the list is shown in minute 10:45
Ok, so I'm doing this with a fresh installation of Skyrim: SE. Now, I see that you say that you need to download the CC (Creation Club) Free DLCs if you have the Anniversary Edition, but do you have to download those no matter what or just if you have the AE?

The collection supports both the AE upgrade and those without it. If you've purchased it, make sure to download the mods and click YES to installing the optional plugins when the collection asks.
@@JaySerpa Got it. One last question, can I launch from Steam or do I have to launch from Vortex?
Once fully set up you could launch from steam or from a shortcut in your desktop without having to launch vortex. However, you must run it through skse. I believe renaming the skse exe will allow you to launch it from steam, but you'd have to Google it.
It said a couple mods are already installed and if i would like to replace them or install as a variant
if i use suggested load order and some of them dont have a suggested load order (???), how do i know what to pick

How would you go about installing an enb for this list? Should I install the enb beforehand or do it after downloading the collection and just let it win any conflict?
Loving the modlist so far, but I'd like to be able to disable the mod that makes the game not pause when in the UI if possible, it makes it almost impossible to block attacks when you're trying to play like a spellsword. Any tips on how I could do that?

This is my first time downloading a collection, so I'm not sure if it's always like that, but during the download I got multiple pop up messages, one for each mod, or almost all of them, telling me I had to download the mods from the website. And having to do this for all of the 1000 mods it's quite overwhelming, is it a problem that's happening to me or it's normal?
Edit: apparently is a thig of not owning premium, I have to manually install one by one. Now, I was wondering if I cancel one of the downloads, does the installation pauses and I can continue where I left it later?

Quick question: Are you solely uploading mods for the most recent version of Skyrim from now on? I keep playing on 1.5 and the last mod I installed was your College overhaul so I'm not sure at what point the next mods stop supporting it.
All my mods work on all Skyrim versions.
As long as there is no SKSE plugin, then the mod will work with any version of Skyrim.

hey there, when i download the mod it begins asking me to download every single mod manually from nexus. So i can choose between download, skip and cancel. How do i fix this?
You have to get Nexus Premium if you want collections/lists to download the mods automatically for you, otherwise you need to download them all one by one.

So I installed this a couple times yesterday, each time, it finished downloading 1330 mods, then it restarted and started downloading it all again. Everything is done correctly, no idea.
After installation, the Collection Installation Screen is not appearing. What am I missing?

I loved the Kaidan mod on xbox... but Immersive Features wasnt in your modlist, it adds more quests, dialog etc as well as animations for kaidan and player interacting (no sex mods) Could i DL with vortext or install manually to vortex folder?
It needs to run through nemesis with other animation files together (i hope im saying that right) in order for all the animations to play nice.
Is there a way for me to run nemesis in that vortex file so i can make them all work together?

i do 170mb/s and the installation is taking forever, like rn i'm at 41% for ~2h of downloading. I have maxed out the Download Threads and i have unlimited bandwidth.

Hello, i want to ask you what can i do about some uresolved file conflicts on Vortex that don't allow me to run the game.
Ive been playing this collection for a few days now (loving it, really well done) I had one question though. All cities in the game look great and have new things to explore apart from Markarth and Riften which seem pretty Vanilla to me. Is there any reason for that? Could I add JK's cities & outskirts mods to expand them a bit or will it cause issues for those two cities?
