  • This is a demonstration of the simplest and easiest wudu you can make. This demonstration will help if you suffer from misgivings, waswas, obsessive compulsive behavior.
Water by its nature flows. All we need to do is guide it. Very quickly and with the minimal water your limbs will become wet.
1 mudd of volume is used her which is in line with the Prophetic Sunnah (peace of Allah be upon Him)

Sorry just finding this comment strange. What makes you think this teacher is not qualified? Have you read his bio? There are many good teachers and many quacks yes we don’t listen to everyday people making random videos but a qualified teacher like this one we do listen to. Mufti Menk is not the only teacher in the world nor the best and I’m not saying that to say he isn’t good just that others teach the same as him. I have found benefit with this teacher here and his style is good and he backs up everything from books

@@AhmirNawaz how many oz is a mudd and can wudu be done with less volume of that of a mudd?

    • @AhmirNawaz
      @AhmirNawaz  ปีที่แล้ว

Salaam, a mudd is approx half a litre or Almost a litre depending on who is stating. Yes it would be possible to do it with less than that as the minimum amount of drops that should drop off a limb is two and to be careful that it doesn’t just resemble wiping due to the tiny amount of water used. So to summarise as long as two drops fall off each limb then the amount of water that caused that would be sufficient.

My mind keeps telling me that I should restart and i restart it over and over again everytime i start washing my right hand (while wudhu) and raising hands saying 'Allahu Akbar' (while salah). It wastes so many time of mine and I'm very very frustrated and I get very emotional
I don't wanna say that i'm officially having an OCD because i have neither consulted to psychologist nor gotten an official diagnose, and i don't wanna self-diagnose neither, but could it be that I'm really having an OCD due to my action above?

      Salaam,
May Allah ‎ﷻ reward your struggle and for your firsts in reaching out to seek help.
The religion is easy and inshallah you shall find it easy too.
You are struggling as you seem not to understand the fiqh rulings behind it. Inshallah once you understand the ruling of wudu you will fine trust me :)
I can accept exactly what you are saying having suffered exactly the same thing in both cases, so rest assured I DO understand your suffering.
Let’s tackle this one step at a time.
Your mind refuses to let you move forward and carry on with wudu and inside your own head you have intended that the wudu has now been broken as you intended it to not be a wudu and now you must start again and this vicious cycle Kees feeling itself.
Well let me tell you the good news.
There is now intention for wudu!
You could be jump in the sea intending nothing and you will come out with wudu.
You can intend as much as you want that you are not making wudu and your mind and body are both resisting and you keep changing your mind and you mind had firmly told you, “no I’m not making wudu anymore this is not wudu”. It doesn’t matter you still have wudu.
      Let’s make it easier:
      Wash your face once
      Arms once
      Wipe head
      Wash feet
Keep intending it’s not wudu but it will be wudu no matter what you do as, as long as the required body parts are wet that’s all that counts and not your intention, even if negative.
      As for prayer:
      The same thing goes.
If you can pray behind an imam. Once you have got your first Allah Akbar in, you won’t need to say a single thing except listen to him and say salaam again.
If you pray alone then once you stand on the mat despite what your mind is saying that your not really praying and you must break it and start again actually agree with your mind and say yeah I know it’s broken don’t worry let it break I know you are making me believe I’m not praying it’s fine I’m not praying but it’s fine.
Just recite the prayer and leave the mat despite what your mind is saying .
What helped me over come my waswas was to educate myself in fiqh.
There is a playlist on fiqh on my channel take a look and go through with it all.
May Allah ‎ﷻ make all things easy for you .
Once you have tried the above get back to me please .

Salaam. No matter how much water you use if you have OCD you will never be satisfied and always think something is dry.
You must know that the way I did wudu makes everything wet so if you are not doing it with water for sure nothing will remain dry. In Islam it’s not how hard you try but how you follow the sunnah.
We take the means and we leave it to Allah after that. And even if for example (but nothing will) something remained dry our wudu is still accepted as we followed the messenger of Allah peace be upon him

Sheikh, quick question - I'm trying to do wudu ASAP and only with the minimal wajib actions. From what I know, even if two drops of water flow on your foot and you wipe that around and it covers your foot - then that suffices. I notice you said the foot should be dripping wet. But can I just put a few flowing drops on the foot and wipe? I've seen a sheikh online do this and he used minimal water.

    • @AhmirNawaz
      @AhmirNawaz  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Salaam,
There are no wajib actions in wudu. There are four obligatory actions and the rest are Sunna.
You are mistaken where you said that only two drops can suffice and one wipes with them. This is not washing as Allah ‎ﷻ orders in the Quran but rather wiping.
I think your confusion comes from the statement that, washing is called washing if when you put water on a limb at least two drops should drip off it for it to be called washing with water as opposed to wiping which is not allowed and means that nothing will fall off the skin.
I don’t know what shiekh you saw or how he did wudu but it’s likely you misunderstood

Salaam, Thank you for getting in touch and may Allah help you overcome all your problems.
Please understand Islam is simple and Allah only wants what is simple.
There is a principal that doubt doesn’t overcome certainty in Islam
You feel like you have passed wind doesn’t mean anything. A mere feeling (even if true) doesn’t mean anything in your case. Yet it is never true in your case, and you never pass wind.
Unless you don’t hear a very loud noise coupled with smell together then you have not passed wind. That is how simple it is.
      A simple question :
      Do you pass wind loudly?
      Does it smell ?
If you answered no then doesn’t matter what you feel Allah will not ask you about that.
Even if you still feel you have passed wind (which you haven’t) your wudu is intact
      2. Let’s say this scenario is difficult for you to accept because of your ocd ,
There is something else in fiqh for you.
      Something called “chronic excuse”
Let’s say you were leaking urine or passing gas all the time and there is nothing you can do about it. Then fiqh dictates that all you do is make wudu each prayer time even if you are literally dripping urine or you are passing wind like a gas tap turned on, you simple make wudu and pray as much as you want until
The end of the prayer time.
Now you are still dripping urine, you can see it. You are passing wind it’s an open gas nozzle - no problem! - just make wudu again even as you see the urine everywhere and keep praying even as your still leaking.
Islam is simple and we should keep it simple
      Try this and please come
      Back to to me
May Allah help everyone with OCD

      1. Wiping the nape [‘the back part of the neck’ - Webster’s] is recommended. [Nur al-Idah, Durral-Mukhtar, Hadiyya al-Ala’iyya]
      2. Wiping the front of the neck is disliked and an innovation. [ibid.]
As for Imam Nawawi’s opinion that it is an innovation due to the evidence for it being excessively weak, this was not accepted by many other hadith experts.
Among the wisdom behind wiping the back of the neck is that it is from completely wiping the head, front and back.
      And Allah alone gives success.
The imams of the Shafi`i school differed regarding this. The position chosen by Imam Nawawi and most of the scholars of discernment (al-ashab) to be relied upon is that is not a sunna to wipe the back of the neck in wudu. This is the relied upon position (mu`tamad) of the school.
A number of the early imams of the Shafi`i school said that wiping the back of the neck is a sunna. Among those who said this are Imam Qadi Husain, Mutawalli, Baghawi, and Ghazali. Thus, however wishes to follow them in this may do so.
Imam `Ala’ al-Din al-Haskafi (Allah have mercy on him) stated in his al-Durr al-Mukhtar, a commentary on Imam Tumurtashi’s Tanwir al-Absar, when mentioning the actions recommended in ritual ablution,
“(And wiping the back of the neck) with the back of one’s hands.”
Imam Muhammad Amin Ibn `Abidin (Allah have mercy on him) concurred in his Radd al-Muhtar [1.84, Bulaq ed.]; and confirmed that it is recommended (mustahabb), not an emphasized sunna (sunna mu’akkada). This is also the ruling mentioned in the majority of the main Hanafi works, including Imam Ibn Nujaym’s al-Bahr al-Ra’iq, Ibn al-Humam’s Fath al-Qadir, and earlier works such as Imam Sarakhsi’s Mabsut.
Imam Sarakhsi noted in his Mabsut, however, that al-Hakim al-Shahid did not mention it in his al-Kafi, in which he gathered and arranged the positions related in the central works of Muhammad ibn al-Hasan (kutub dhahir al-riwaya) from Abu Hanifa, and his two main students (Abu Yusuf and Muhammad ibn al-Hasan himself). Rather, Sarakhsi states that this was from the legal deduction and preference of the subsequent Hanafi scholars. [Sarakhsi, al-Mabsut, 1.10]
The Prophet’s Wiping of the Back of the Head
In a hadith related by both Bukhari and Muslim, describing the ritual ablution of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), Abd Allah ibn Zaid (Allah be pleased with him) stated that, “The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) began wiping from the top of his forehead until his qafa (the back of his head), and then returned them to where he began from.” [Bukhari: 179; Muslim: 346]
What do the jurists mean by ‘back of the neck’ (raqaba)?
By ‘the back of the neck’, the scholars mean ‘anything under the ears,’ as is clear from the works of the Hanafi scholars. [Shaykh Zada, Majma` al-Anhur, 1.15; al-Fatawa al-Hindiyya, 1.9]
Imam Sarakhsi (Allah have mercy on him) stated in his Mabsut, “Anything under the ears is part of the neck; anything above it is part of the head.” [1.64] This is confirmed by Imam Kasani’s words in his Bada’i` [1.5]
The purpose of wiping the neck
The purpose and wisdom of wiping the back of the neck is to lengthen the wiping of the head.
This is a means of acting on the Prophet’s recommendation (peace and blessings be upon him) to lengthen one’s washing and wiping in ritual ablution. This lengthening is by washing and wiping beyond the limits, as both the Hanafi and Shafii scholars state. [Ibn Hajar, Tuhfat al-Muhtaj Sharh al-Minhaj 1.236; Abd al-Ghani al-Nabulsi, Nihayat al-Murad Sharh Hadiyyat Ibn `Imad]
The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said,
“My community will be resurrected with shining faces and legs from the traces of ritual ablution. So whoever is able to lengthen their traces should do so.” [Bukhari and Muslim, with the wording of the latter; from Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him)]
Thus, there is no ‘problem’ with what the Hanafi scholar’s statement that wiping the back of the neck is recommended.
Imam Sufyan ibn `Uyayna stated that, “Accepting what the scholars say is safety in religion.” [al-Khatib al-Baghdadi, Tarikh Baghdad, 7.82, Dar al-Kutub al-`Ilmiyya]
It is also not true that only the Hanafis have stated that wiping the back of the neck is recommended: it is a strong position within the Shafii school. See:
Is it recommended to wipe the back of the neck in the Shafii school?
      Praise be to Allah.
It is not recommended to wipe the neck during Wudu because there is no proof of that from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Shaykh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
“There is no authentic report from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) which says that he wiped his neck during Wudu , rather no such thing has been narrated from him in any authentic Hadith. Rather the authentic Hadiths which describe the Wudu of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) do not mention that he wiped his neck. Hence the majority of scholars, such as Malik, Ash-Shafi`i and Ahmad did not regard that as recommended. Those who say that it is recommended rely on a report narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) or an inauthentic Hadith which says that he wiped his head until he reached the back of his head. Such reports cannot be relied on, and it does not contradict what is indicated by the sound Hadiths. Whoever does not wipe his neck, his Wudu is valid according to scholarly consensus.” (Majmu` Al-Fatawa, 21/127)
This Hadith, “He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wiped his head until he reached the back of his head (which is the beginning of the back of the head),” was narrated by Abu Dawud (132) and was classed as inauthentic by Al-Albani in Da`if Abu Dawud.
In Al-Majmu` (1/489) An-Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned a difference of opinion among the companions of Ash-Shafi`i (may Allah have mercy on him) concerning wiping the neck in Wudu. Then he said: This is a summary of what they said, and they had four views on this matter, one of which is that it is Sunnah to wipe it with new water. The second is that it is recommended and cannot be said to be Sunnah. The third is that it is recommended to use the water left from wiping the head and ears . The fourth is that it is neither Sunnah nor recommended. The fourth view is the one that is correct. Hence Ash-Shafi`i (may Allah have mercy on him) did not mention it, and neither did our earlier companions. It was not mentioned by most of the scholars. There is no proof of that from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
It is proven in Sahih Muslim and elsewhere that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The worst of matters are those which are newly-invented, and every innovation is a going astray.”
It is narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever introduces anything into our religion that is not part of it, will have it rejected.” According to a version narrated by Muslim: “Whoever does any action that is not in accordance with this matter of ours will have it rejected.”
With regard to the Hadith that is narrated from Talhah ibn Musarraf, from his father, from his grandfather, which says that he saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wiping his head until he reached the back of his head and the first part of the neck, it is a Hadith which is inauthentic according to scholarly consensus.
With regard to the words of Al-Ghazali (may Allah have mercy on him): Wiping the neck is Sunnah because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Wiping the neck is a protection from the yoke (or chains - Al-Ghull)”, this is a mistake, because these are not the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).”
Al-Ghull (pl. Al-Aghlal) refers to chains that are placed on the neck. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“They are those who disbelieved in their Lord! They are those who will have iron chains (Al-Aghlal) tying their hands to their necks.” [Al-Ra`d 13:5]
“And We shall put iron collars (Al-Aghlal) round the necks of those who disbelieved. Are they requited aught except what they used to do?” [Saba’ 34:33]
Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said in Zad Al-Ma`ad (1/195):
“There is no authentic Hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about wiping the neck at all.”
Shaykh Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
“It is not recommended or prescribed in shari`ah to wipe the neck, rather the head and the ears only are to be wiped, as is indicated by the Quran and Sunnah
Here is the summary of the argument below taken from various places (not my work)
The mast is Ibn Taymiyyah position and the former are all people they are greater than Ibn Taymiyyah and a cohesive unit each like a mesh reinforcing scholarship.
If the collective didn’t know their religion and simple things like wudu and bidah then we have no hope today
Jazakallah for your trying to bring to my attention what you believe and I know you are doing it from a place of sincerity but I feel more comfortable with the understanding of the collective greats in our religion.
      And Allah knows best

Salaam, when you put water over your face it’s just the outside that is considered. So the inside of the eye lids or lips is of no consequence. Simply closing your mouth in a normal pose and wiping face is sufficient. Besides, you just put water in your mouth three times before that anyway so now your inner and outer lips have become wet without washing the face so think of it as a bonus when you wash your face. Don’t let little niggles get you down. May Allah give you success

    Jazakallah khair for this,
I’ve struggled with wudu for years and still do
When gargling, i gargle for about 10 seconds but doubt whether the water has reached my entire mouth including the back, and when i spit out the water, it
looks like there is more saliva than there is water.
When sniffing water, i put my head back to ensure water touches the hard bone, is this ok?
Also when collecting water to use for masah, i feel the need to wet the entire palm thoroughly or im worried that ‘used’ water will be passing through my hair when making masah

@@madinahpatel783 thank you for your comment and thank you for reaching out. Wudu is. Simple affair and it shouldn’t take long or cause distress.
OCD is cured by disregarding what you feel and following everyone else who seems to do wudu with ease.
Even if you never wet your nose or mouth you wudu would still be done as it’s a sunnah act to draw water into the mouth and nose.
Now you know this, wudu should be easier. Draw water up the nose or mouth without worrying about it reaching everywhere (although it will reach everywhere) and if you still have waswas then don’t even take water in your mouth or nose, simply bypassing this act until your waswas is cured as it’s a Sunna and not obligatory for a sound wudu
Let me know how it goes.
May Allah ‎ﷻ give you success

Jazakallah khair for your support. Gargling and cleaning the nose is done with much ease now alhamdulillah,
But, now it appears im struggling with washing the face. I feel the need to wet my entire palm fully before washing my face, otherwise it feels as though im passing used water across my face. And then i rub excessively to ensure the water has touched up to the hairline since it looks dry
This tends to happen. I overcome a struggle but then find something else in wudu to be OCD about

    • @AhmirNawaz
      @AhmirNawaz  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@madinahpatel783 salaam. The cure is simple. Just trust watching someone else. You just follow them despite your own waswas. Your OCD will not allow you but by shariah you just follow and don’t look and doesn’t matter what you feel. There is no used water on your hand and a drop or two is excused. You should learn the rulings on used water. After washing your nose (it’s sunnah) you gather water and wash your face and don’t worry about sure water. No one else does as it’s insignificant. If you wash your hand you reinforce your OCD so don’t. It’s a bid’a if you do so be warned. It’s not a practice from the sunnah. Just go ahead and wash your face and one wipe even if you think it’s wiping is enough. The second and third is just a sunnah. Persistent wiping a million times is a bid’a as is checking very closely. Just do what you see others do and your intention is that you have OCD which will not let you continue where others do continue and just leave your urges and follow them. Over time everything will become easy. Trust me as I have severe issues too.
May Allah ‎ﷻ make things easy

Asalaamaleycom warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu hope you are well InshaALLAH I have a question does water need to reach the back of your throat when gargling and at what point does water need to reach when sniffing into the nose, also in your video I noticed you took water into the nose but didn’t sniff it back out

    • @AhmirNawaz
      @AhmirNawaz  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Salaam and thank you for your answer
Water in the mouth and the nose is a Sunna practice and not obligatory. So that should do away with any OCD anyone has.
When putting water in the mouth it will naturally reach the end of the pallet which is up to the tonsils, which is the end of the mouth and hitting the throat.
As for the nose. The way I put the water up allowed for it to reach the bone which is towards the top of the nose. The soft part of the nose was washed here. Sniffing is not necessary to ensure this. One can tilt the head back, or put a finger in to ensure the nose is washed but that is all upto the individual person. As for me, when I put the water up, it reached upto the top and job done.
Remember I made this for people with OCD. It’s a simple wudu with the least amount of water, covering all areas that need to be covered.

You wipe your face with each handful of water and whether you think its wet or not it IS wet. It's wet for every other Muslim and its wet for you. DO that and as Muslims we take the means and Allah over looks everything else

The ears are not obligatory to wash so even if you never touched them and they were bone dry it wouldn't affect your wudu in the least.
The same goes for the neck. As for your hair, only a quarter needs to be washed and you don't even need dripping water. You can use your wet hand to wife once over it. It not washing, its wiping and wiping is not with dripping water. Its with a wet hand. As your wiping (once) of course more than a quarter of the (top) of your head has had contact with your hand. That is enough. Even if you just placed your palm static on top of your head without moving it, that would suffice.
get back to me on the above
      May Allah give you success.

assalamu alaikum Alhamdulillah my ocd is a lot better now but my problem is with my face and feet, when washing the face do we need to hit every spot in the same wash? as example do we need to reach the side of ears, jaw, chin etc in one stroke for the wudu to be valid bc i always feel like i have missed a inch or so because i heard it not allowed to wash the face then separately do the sides of ears etc but my hands dont like go in a straight line to get every spot i have to move them a lot idk if u understand my question but yeah
and i check the time and it takes me around 4/5 mins per foot bc i even run the tap over all my feet but it just doesn't feel wet enough.

If you don’t hit every spot in each wipe then don’t worry about it. By the third wash you would have hit all spots. There is nothing wrong with moving your wet hands over all the spots you mentioned as that is what will make sure it’s wet. Don’t go crazy, it will get wet don’t worry

Salaam, May Allah make you overcome OCD. You cannot do tayyamum as despite your ocd the wudu has been done. Firstly, if you have OCD then it will move over to tayammum also. Your OCD is giving you problems in making an intention, keeping an intention, and making you think your body parts have not been washed. What I did was the bare minimum and the wudu was complete. You are rubbing much more, and for more times than three so there is no chance that your limbs are dry. We take the means and Allah accepts. I know my body was wet as a billion Muslims do the same and it’s wet. Not if my mind cannot accept that, then that doesn’t mean my wudu isn’t complete. It just means there is a problem with me. I pray Allah make it easy for you
