Yup been doing that my whole life (well just the past year that ive actually been able to grow a beard…wonderful 28 years-_-) now to figure out how to get the mustache hairs outta my mouth and drink lol
@brianbailey1681 Hi if you want to grow your beard longer, with more length and volume : Don't touch your neckline, don't do the so called 2 fingers above Adam's apple. Let it grow for 8 months without touching it, then you trim very slightly the very bottom of your chin's beard hair (every 2 or 3 months) , but do not touch the neckline. you'll notice how wonderful your beard grow faster than ever.
mustache is easy just freehand with the clippers. Tilt your head forward and use your trimmer horizontally and trim the hairs that stick out evenly. Then follow your upper lip shape for the upper lip hairs. easy @@brianbailey1681
I appreciate this , always would go against the grain and would always trim along my cheek instead of the neck beard line so my beard was always round …then I’d get annoyed and start over . Will give this a try
Never shave down with your razor blade after using your shaver blade down towards the highest level of your beard. I have done the same as you many times. It’s just getting that match on each side. Alway try to do your lowest side first so you don’t take too much away if you go down farther than you intended.
Thanks dude. My facial hair is very similar to yours. I usually let the beard grow for a couple of months and then I shave it into a goatee. Now I want to try and keep the beard for a couple of more months.
What beard trimmer do you use? I’m trying to find one that has “higher” guard numbers. Currently I can only find trimmers that only go up to 3mm or so which I don’t think is enough for my beard. Any advice or links to trimmers would be great, thank you! Oh also, what is the best way to clean up the cheek line? One side always seems to curve up and the other is more straight.
I have a medium short beard since 9 months now and want to maintain like this. I’m usually trimming downward, but not always sure about this. My cheeks are not overly dense as my chin and mustache. I also have pretty grey hair which I think is shows even more with longer beard. In my case is better to continue to trim downward or give a chance to try it upwards?
Thank you so much for this. I’m a trans man and my beard was getting pretty long. My dad isn’t there to teach me how to shave, so you were a great help, and now my beard looks super clean! ❤
What trimmer are you using? I need one that that has power…. What is that? What do you recommend. I don’t care if you give me your affiliate link either! lol
These are Babyliss pro trimmers. Might be a little pricey but if you don’t mind something that plugs into the wall you can get something from wahl for under $60
I am 20 and I’ve been growing out my beard for a bit now and I have a section under my lower lip that doesn’t grow hair or there’s hair just not thick and my mustache doesn’t connect to the beard how would I fix this so I don’t have a Amish looking beard
So the grain on my beard goes in different directions, is there a way to make them just go straight down like yours? So is it smt i just have work with?
I have a beard but it’s all curly hairs and I hate the way it sticks out when it’s too long that’s why I usually trim it with a 3 guard once every month 🤦♂️
Thanks man I always mess up and get little bumps and bruises afterwards(sometimes) hopefully this tip will help Quick question, though, should I get like a beard moisturizer or whatever it’s called to make it much more easier?
I have weird grain my beard hairs grow in all different directions, and I kind of have bad definitive beard lines on face, it's not an ideal fit jawline
If you want to grow your beard out. If you want to keep it the same length week to week go the opposite way with whatever guard is the right length for you.
Hi, Trimming with clipper unfortunately don't make the beard grow longer. The only method that allow a man to grow longer is: by let the beard grow for 6-8 months without touching (no trimming) and therefore do not touch your neckline. Here is the method to allow you to grow longer and faster: By every 3 months (after the 6 months of growth with no trimming) just slightly trim the very bottom of your chin's beard hairs. Most importantly Do not touch your neckline, you need those supportive actors there. Let it grow let it flow
I don't know why people keep going on about the 2 finger above the Adams apple bollocks... If you have a super thick beard then yes you can probably get away with it but guess what, most of us don't. Therefore that hair you keep trimming upwards under your beard needs to stay, as it prevents your beard from becoming see through and keeps it thicker. Try growing it down your neck further before taking the advice.
Thanks man. I always mess my beard because i always go against the grain and didnt even realize

hey bro thank you sm i always used to go against the beard and i always used to wonder why does it cut so much even at 10 mm
Bro when you shape the neck line should you comb your neck hair down or towards the right first
Thanks. I love having a beard but I could never keep it groomed and looked messy.

I always fuck mine up and have to restart.

You can get a beard brush and brush it in the direction you want after the shower. that should help.
Thanks I’ve been trying to grow a beard that wasn’t completely ugly in the mirror
Wat abt the intensity of trimming bro? Is it like per wk or per mnth?
Just use a longer guard each week or two!

How often should you touch up ur beard
If it’s short 2-4 days. If it’s long you can go 1-2 weeks
Going with the grain doesnt cut it to length it cuts the bits sticking up
….. to grow your beard longer.
And how you mention the flyaway hair on the beard which machine would good to remove the flyaways as well?
This or a trimmer would work fine.
Against the grain looks better on you in my opinion vs with the grain from the comparison shot
Depends on what you’re trying to achieve
Thanks my dad never taught me how to shave my beard.
Sweet, thank yoy gentlemem
I couldn’t pass the Adam’s Apple part :(, two fingers above it is inside my chin 😭
So should we pull the lever down
That will give you a half step up. So if you have a 3 on it will be more like 3.5. Start there than go down to a 3 if you want.
Thanks appreciate the knowledge@@gentslounge
Oh well that explains everything
You are my god
What does ABS 1-19 mean? Mine don’t say mms or 1-8 is says ABS and like a 8, 19, 10. Don’t remember all of them
Some trimmers are different. I'd start higher than you think and if it doesn't take a little bit off go lower until it does.
Rule 1: Do not touch the neckline. Also, don't do the one or two finger method above the Adam's apple.

Honestly man you made it look better against the grain. Going with the grain in your case did not look so good with your case.

Against the grain with make it shorter and all the same length but if you’re looking to grow it out and still look nice go with the grain
