    Thanks for the shoutout! Didn't know about the tail part, but that really is easier to bleed them. And it just gushes out before the heart stops.
    Cool cutting the spine at the tail stops rigor. Will 100% be trying that on anything I catch to fillet. Always a bugger to try and fillet a fish at the dock that is shaped like a C. And there's always one. lol

      Just cutting the tail won't do it. It just allows access to the spinal cord. You have to ream out the cord with a wire of suitable diameter. It only takes 3 or 4 passes with the wire...

    Nice haul! We call that method of bleeding a Cuban necktie, but I guess we are wrong since it is a Japanese method, heh.

    Nice job and you got some good ones. I need to try that bleeding method, looks easier than cutting the gills.

    What frequency are you using for your standard sonar? On my garmin I'm getting more dotted blobs rather than the standard arches.

    • @kingslew1866
      @kingslew1866  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have no idea what the frequency is. I'm running Raymarine Axiom Real Vision, mostly using split screen downvision/CHIRP sonar...

    Going to try fishing yaquina pier and the jetty. Is it legal to use a hook with barb? What hook size do you recommend? Also, if I use a pole to cast my crab snare, can I use another pole to fish without having a two-pole endorsement? Thanks

    • @kingslew1866
      @kingslew1866  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's OK to use hooks with barbs. ODFW Office in So Bch is a good resource for all legal question, how to, etc. (541) 867-4741
