    Lots of green crabs at this spot for anyone looking for tog bait. I was catching them non stop. Caught 3 skate on cut mullet. Had a great time! Fishing uses up a lot of batteries on the gopro. I never know when to start recording so I was almost recording everything. I was on my last battery by the end of the day. That last fish had to be a ray or something big. It screamed my drag and snapped my line in seconds. I guess I need to use heavier line until I get more skill on fighting the fish on lighter tackle. Still happy to catch something other than spot and dogfish. I'll start looking for another spot for next week.

      I enjoy your videos quite a bit
      Thanks for the effort making them.
      The green crabs are an invasive species and are actually quite delicious although small.
      No size limits and no creel limits.
      I wash them well and boil them in marinara ;)
      Excellent bait too for all fish that eat crabs.
      Crab on brother!

    Hi Tony Dan here.... I know I am repeating myself but I can't remember crabbing in October and seeing so many babies.
    I went to bass river Wednesday and same thing babies. I remember catching big rustys in the fall. Temperature Is supposed to go down to the low 30s tonight so I don't knowknoe👍.

      Interesting video I watched about green crabs, apparently they are kind of an invasive species. They dig up marshlands and uproot plants. I'm wondering if they are messing up the blue crab population. All the babies is odd. Last year I wasn't catching much this late in the season, but that was probably just bad luck. I was surprised to catch 4. But those green crabs were insane. I've never caught so many before. I must have pulled up at least 50. In hind sight I should have kept them to use for bait.

      Yep the brown ones are called Green Crabs ......

    • @slingshotcrabbing
      @slingshotcrabbing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, I know where to get them now. They were thick off that pier. Some I think were a little big for bait though. I tried using some frozen blue crab for bait but the smaller minnows were just picking them clean. You would think with so many green crabs there would be a few tog hiding under the docks. Can I freeze them for later?

      I've done the bridges on Rt. 30 a few times. Usually pretty good crabbing there. The guy at Riptide was very helpful, defiantly recommend stopping there.

    nice ....on to the next good luck....when does crab season end?

    • @slingshotcrabbing
      @slingshotcrabbing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Season ends November 30th but I've never had it last that long. When water temp gets in the 50's they dig in for the winter. Unfortunately it's getting close to that now.
