Yes wood ash is a natural pesticide and pre fertilizer. I learnt this during lockdown when I was trying to learn about yams in Africa 😊. This is great teachings Marie. I hope to taste your hard work soon🙏🏾❤️👊🏾

I just saw a Raccoon hiding in the garden and I think it was laughing at me😊😅😮😢. I thought potatoes were supposed to be planted from the slips 🤔. That's what I saw on TH-cam.

Sweet potatoes are planting by the slips, these are Irish potatoes. Try again with your carrots 🥕 they can be planted in containers

I am experimenting with the irish potatoes here in Barbados, planted them in a raised bed and got them to grow leaves and everything, but between my cat and I thunk slugs. I only have five left that are trying to grow. I am going to try aand protect them and see what happens and if I get any potatoes, holding out some hope as I am told , they will not grow in our hot weather however I always like to challenge these things to see what happens.

What kind of dirt you used

I usually make my own with regular dirt, worm castings from the woods, manure and kitchen scraps. But this one we got from a friend with an animal farm
