My eyes were falling out of my head waiting on that potato to appear, that’s the beauty of gardening ❤️❤️
Mine too 😆
Beautiful view, never mind we are only human 😂may be it's a male potato
Never heard of male sweet potatoes
Good morning that soil was too dry and you don't dig potatoes before you see the leaves discolored and Producing flowers.
That's when You dig your sweet potatoes.
Good morning to you. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you so much
Good morning Marie, thanks for the inspiration.
Mine have grown out of the bucket and running all over the place. I will also empty my bucket and try again

Good morning Marie. Nothing is wrong if you fail. Now you know exactly where you went wrong, keep on farming ❤❤
Thank you, I will
Speaking success into being☘
Oh yes
You will have better luck next time
Thank you so much ☺️ 💓
I think you should use a bigger container for the sweet potato to give them more room to develop. Good luck.
Thanks for the tip! I appreciate your feedback 😊 ❤️
You are the best 👌 ❤
😆
Hi there, how’s it going, great content thanks for sharing
Hi 👋🏿 it's going great 👍 thanks for the continued support
Hush sister Marie. I think that soil can be finely chopped with the garden shears and mixed with some natural dirt and manure and can be useful again. I wouldn’t discard. We live and learn as they say. Im addicted to learning with you, so thank you for your efforts. Well on the way to 10k subbies. In the name of the almighty we’ll be successful this time around 🙌🏾🙏🏾🤞🏾❤️
Thanks for your feedback and continued support 👍 I appreciate you 🙏
You’re welcome. 🙏🏾❤️
Hush Marie, i know exactly how it feels.
I'm good man, I have plenty sweet potatoes elsewhere in the garden
Am always looking on gardeners on u tube so glad to see your channel 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽keep up the good work 💐
Thank you so much 😊 and welcome to the family
Marie it happens to the best of us gardeners.
Yup
😅😂 I was surprised 😮
I wasn't 😆
Hi Marie, we all experience failures in our gardens but as long as you keep trying, success will come, and btw, sweet potato leaves are edible 😊
So true!
Even in failure you succeded. Because you inspired me
Thank you so much ☺️
Hi Marie my name is Dianne and I live in Vancouver Canada and I planted sweet potatoes before in a big pot and I got you should have put them in water first to spring roots and then plant them take care
Hi Dianne 👋🏿 thanks for the support
I’m blaming it on the soil. It looked very compact. Farming is not 100%.
So true
Marie maybe you need a wider container, potatoes need space to run this container is too narrow. Let’s hope you have better luck this time, but I do think you should use a wider container.
OK thanks for that
Gm miss marie,no need to be angry with urself my dear ,you win some ,you loose some.to God be all z glory .keep pushing.❤
I'm the opposite of angry, this was an expirement and still is. Thanks so much for the support ❤️
I am more than ready,I thought the bucket was to collect the potatoes.
Dwl 🤣 🤣
The battle we go through to get our harvest my sister Marie, bee stings, bruises, cuts, heat exhaustion, dirt, wet, and so many other things
So much
I was still saying to myself that you are going to find something..😊
Lol 😆 hush sweetie
Good morning we'll win next time 😢😅❤❤
Good morning! Oh yes
Marie, the way how dat deh soil tuff, no surprise that you have no potato. Hush mi fren.
It's all roots
I have confidence that you will do better with the sweet potatoes you have currently growing
I hope so too!
@@FarmingOnTheRocks i feel good about those
Hi , Marie you made me laugh when you ask if anyone laughing funny, remember I told you I was going to try it but my water bottles weren’t big enough so I put them in the ground in much lighter soil I tried about three times before and I hope I get some this time, I would keep trying until I find the right bed, I have almost some of everything fruit trees also all in a small garden trying at the things I use and like, I see you back at it again so we would keep trying, have a wonderful day Marie ❤
Wonderful! Keep trying my friend 🧡
Marie and her garden is so unique 😊
Thank you so much ☺️
The potatoes will produce this time Marie. Love your positive outlook on life girl ❤❤❤
Thank you so much ☺️
I think it's the container you use so try the feed bags and see how it goes next time around
Thank you for sharing
I’m planting some calabaza, I’m sending a strong blessing for the sweet potatoes to grow abundantly this time
Thank you so much and all the best with yours
Hello sis, the soil is too hard for the sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes like sandy soft soil, there was too many roots so it made the soil hard so the potato couldn't expand, it happened to me last year. I was prepared this year. Thanks for sharing the highs and lows of gardening because thats the reality.
Thanks for the info, definitely 👍
good day farmer, the soil has to be more loose like the potting soil in bags
Taking notes 📝
I watched your video when you harvested your lovely sweet potatoes last year, so I know you can do it 😊
Marie, I hope it will be a success this time around. However, from the little that I know about potatoes, I believe each time the vine runs, it will connect with the soil, send a root down, and form a tuber underneath. I'm just saying, but I'm still hoping for the best in your endeavor to try again
Yes, but they also produce at the base alone when plated in containers
@FarmingOnTheRocks I really didn't know that. Thanks for the info
@@joylyngordon4867 no problem
You have the best reaction to disappointment ever😅😅
Lol
Hi my lady, I think you pull it too early, and if I was you I would have planted it in the blue bin and don’t put the slip too far down and as it grow you keep adding soil hay or dry grass, it’s ok hon better luck next time, we all go through that sometimes, god bless you and your lovely family, my lady 🙏🏼😍
Great idea!!
That's the spirit girl 👧 👏
Plant and come again
Love the positive vibes you bring
Thank you so much ☺️
I plant in the fowl feed bags my sweet potato slip.
OK, thanks for sharing 👍
May be you should give it water 2 a week it need more dirt
OK thanks 😊
Cant plant a thing Marie, i'm lame just now. Had an accident on Sunday, which left me with a fractured leg.
So sorry Ms Ann, I really hope you heal quickly 🙏 in Jesus name 🙏 the devil is a liar 🙏
Oh noooo
Sorry to hear of your accident.
Wishing for you a speedy recovery my friend.
Steve.🎉
Too much soil
Thank you
Sorry about the bite Marie. Yes I try to wear gloves in the garden. It helps. Sometimes we forget though. Bee bit me 3 weeks ago right under my big toe because I had on loose slippers. Happened so fast.
Where I got bit, the gloves would not have protected Marlene. Thanks for the advice though
❤never mind plant in a bag next time
Thank you so much ☺️
Good morning, what’s the saying, try and try again. I just got some medium and small sweet potato yesterday, I had planted straight in the ground, potting soil/ my home grown manure. 😊
Thanks for sharing your blessings 🙌
Don’t be too discouraged next time when you are planting your potato add some sand to loosen the soil and off course your fertilizer to amend the soil and see what happens. I saw a man planted some sweet potatoes in saw dust and sand and his harvest was great and beautiful potatoes that is I am suggesting that to you. Good luck and best wishes to you next time!! 🙏🙏💐💐
Thanks for the tip
@@FarmingOnTheRocks you are so very welcome!! 🙏 🌻
I think the others might be ready because they were planted before 😊.
I'm going to try harvest one for Sunday's video
You are determining and a trying person, that's one of the things I like about you and it boost me to keep trying with my struggling peppers that still looks like young seedlings
That's the spirit 👏
"If at first you don't succeed, try, try and try again." You make me laugh. You are very humorous. Maybe, next time don't plant more than a couple slips in the container. I am trying to grow some slips myself, currently.
Thanks for the tips! Appreciate your support 🙏 ❤️ good luck with your sweet potatoes
@@FarmingOnTheRocks thank you! With our short growing season, I need it. I started the slips from potatoes, just trying here. 😊
Coincidentally I planted sweet potato in a container 2 weeks ago for the first time. We'll see how it goes. You're a winner my dear. 😊 🙏
Fingers crossed!
Your cabbage look soooo good. What soil do you use.
I made the soil they are planted in myself, regular dirt, kitchen scraps, chicken manure and worm castings from the woods near me
it will be second time lucky
Thank you
The sweet potato and corn bed looks amazing
Thank you so much
Potato them say wrong soil lol
😆 🤣
And you see the roots that you pull upif you had leave themit would have gotten potatoes don't forget that out side is very hot.
OK thanks
Marie I swear you crack me up 😂
@@TeaTimeWithTee-dg9iq 😆
@@FarmingOnTheRocks 😂😂😂😂
Hope it gets better for you☘
Well, it couldn't get any worse lol
hush, you just have to try again sis
I will!
Potatoes love water. Got to give it enough water. I try water mine every other day so they perk up. remember they're deep in ground most times its dry if not watered well. I am growing in containers and in a bed. The bed dries out the quickest. I have to do deep watering.
OK, thanks for sharing that 👍
Marie, sorry I didn't laugh, but as your mother would say you win some You lose some, that's how it goes. In the garden I am pretty sure you will have potatoes in your next planting ... you will have better luck next time I'm sure,
So true!
It's called farming .
Don't it
Ah scorpion yuh duh say eno😮😮……. My gooooddnneeesss!! You know I want to ask if you have snakes in your radar as well!!! My husband alway quarreling with me to put on the boots in d garden too (Barbados doesn’t have snakes so I naturally don’t think about snakes)…. Now d rains start I will start wear my boots because this sistren not about to be bit! 🙃🙃
We have tiny snakes 🐍
Good morning Marie, how much months did you gave the sweet potatoes before harvest?. I tried it for the first time last year and I could have given it an extra 2 weeks/month, to get a much better harvest. Could have given them 4 months instead of 3 months.
I think the issue was fertilizer for me, I never gave it any
It's about 3 months, but even if they got 5 months I wouldn't get anything. Poor soil
Its what happens to me each time with carrots! the plant sprouts but no carrots ever grow....☺
So we continue trying together ❤️
Better luck next time honey ❤❤❤
Thank you
Miner set back, still you shall rise 🙏
Yup
I planted a sweet potato in a container for the first time a few days ago, I don’t know how it will go but will try again if it doesn’t bear fruit, am living in the UK, we don’t get much sun.
Yours will bare fruit
Are you sure that ,that one was 3 months and not 6 months
Not sure
I planted sweet potatoes and they grow and spread pretty like the sea and it never bare one to save mi life, lol, I went to the country and get some red dirt and planted it again in containers, so am waiting on it now again, wish me luck
Good luck this time sweetie
I planted my sweet potatoes in early February. But I don't know when it's ready to harvest. So that means mines is ready to harvest Now because it's past four months now.?
You can probably scratch and check
Heard you had an earthquake yesterday.
OK, I didn't feel it
When the soil sandy it dead no life
Not a life my friend lol

Yes it does
It’s not 3months yet you did it 1week before your bad came in may and now is just June
Yes its more than 3 months ago, I watched that video
No Ms Elaine is before that man 😅
Hi my lady, I think you pull it too early, and if I was you I would have planted it in the blue bin and don’t put the slip too far down and as it grow you keep adding soil hay or dry grass, it’s ok hon better luck next time, we all go through that sometimes, god bless you and your lovely family, my lady 🙏🏼😍
