He’s always been in politics , he’s the existential politician and was always , since 1991, a threat to what the NRA was set up for. It was starting in 1871 as charity to "promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis" , and up until 1977 was an advocate for training , marksmanship, safety etc. that all changed in Cincinnati and one has to only look where the NRA now gets it’s money and how it spends it. The ordinary members have been used and abused by corporate shills and corrupt internal governanace and the executive team and the board.

Thanks for this additional information on the NRA & its leadership. The amount of money siphoned off by the leadership is even more than I was previously aware of. Since 2019 I've kept my NRA membership up in hopes that this lawsuit would result in a wholesale change in the leadership & changes to the bylaws to prevent this abuse of members' money from happening again. I haven't given the NRA any extra donations above my membership dues since 2019. Rather, I redirected my donations to the CRPA, FPC, SAF, etc, because these organizations (and many others) were the ones fighting for our 2A rights in the courts & state legislatures in many states. Hopefully, the NRA can reform itself & regain the trust of the membership. If they don't, they'll likely continue to lose members & fade into history.

Having been a life member for decades, long before this problem, I've been looking at every board vote as an opportunity to lather, rinse, repeat process. Yes, I'm allowed to pick 25 names this year but I'm not voting for anyone who has been a board member before so that substantially reduces the number of votes I'm going to make since filling out all 25 could potentially dilute the change vote because any tick box for an existing board member gives them an advantage because there are still people foolish enough to follow the recommendations of the nominating committee, a.k.a. the swamp.
The best part of being a life member is I don't have to give them a dime and they still have to let me vote. That frees up my cash to donate to NAGR, FPC, GOA, 2AF, and others who are more effective than the NRA who is now the equivalent of quasi 2A Jabba the Hut.

Gun control has always been their mission.
"The National Rifle Association has been in support of workable, enforceable
gun control legislation since its very inception in 1871."

The NRA hasn't been looking out for us since 1934. They practically wrote the gun controller handbook. Don't believe me? Look it up. The president of the NRA back in 1934 wrote the NFA. The NRA has never been about supporting the second amendment. They have been and always will be about the good old boy hunting club. Never forget that back in 1986 the NRA lobbied for the hughes amendment. I don't know how much more information people need to realize that the NRA is not your friend, and they never will be. Give your support to the GOA.

20 year NRA Life member here. It’s horrible to see the judgement in this civil court case. The harmful evidence is there that Wayne, Woody & the NRA got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. No mention about all of the other NRA board members that had a hand in approving all of the lavish spending that came at the expense of NRA members and donors funds. So now the NRA now has a court ordered NY liberal lawyer to oversee the NRA’s spending habits for 1 year. Sounds like probation to me. 😡

A known convicted criminal should not get a golden parachute. The people making those decisions need to be held directly and personally accountable.
