Each day you face the challenge of depression, and even though you might not realize it, you're building remarkable mental strength. Remember, the journey isn't solely about conquering depression; it's about embracing life alongside it. With time, things do improve. Don't keep your emotions locked away - let them out. The most empowering thing you can do is to unapologetically be yourself. You've got the resilience within you to overcome, to adapt, and to thrive.
I legit learned about The Monkey Maternal Depravation Experiment in an undergraduate biology course. The creepiest part of this unit was when my professor asked if this was ever performed on humans. The answer was technically yes because humans in overcrowded orphanages as a result of war often exhibited very similar symptoms. It’s crazy.
I had to learn about this too as part of my intro to neuroscience class, this and the cat experiment studying how vision works had me jacked up emotionally for days
It wasn't just crowded orphanages. In some countries it was believed that it was the best way to raise the orphans in order to stop them from being clingy. Basically they thought the babies giving up on crying for help was a sign the babies were adjusting well instead of a sign they were developing a longterm mental health issue.

Great content. I once experienced the syndrome mentioned around the 6:00 mark (Kapfgrass sp?) for a few hours post seizure and your description is fantastic - I'd asked my Mum to bake a cake in thanks for friends who had given first aid after a major seizure. She came round with it and looked/sounded/dressed/acted exactly like my Mum but had an overwhelming gut feeling they were an imposter so refused to let them in the house - thankfully only lasted a few hours and never happened again but would be horrifying to live with and especially hard for their families.

hello! i am studying psychology and the experiment of the little monkeys was a lesson that i was taught. it hurt to see the experiments happen since they were caught on video, but the amount of studies that i had that class with believed that they could leave their children’s alone, that they should mature on their own because if they could do it, so could their infant. sadly this common knowledge of taking care of your child and being present in their lives is not a common thing that people know, and expect their kids to be tough on their own, it shocked me that an experience this cruel would have to be the only thing that showed the studies studding this class that negligence to this extent like that wasn’t know and had to be shown to half of a class. this world must know that one should always treat their children with care and respect, and make sure to be with them every step of the way

Didnt realize I would be getting such a long video. Thanks papa oomp for getting me through the rough patches in my life. Constant panic attacks I shared with you and knowing the comfort you give me each day. I just cant express my gratitude enough.🤗🤗
I believe that monkey study had another part as well, where the moneys had another surrogate mother which didnt provide any food, water, etc. But it was soft and warm instead of being cold metal wire and they found the monkeys spent a lot more time with this surrogate mother even though it didnt actually provide anything necessary. Might not be remembering excatly right, studied it a while ago.
I remember that study too! A horrifically unethical study, but it showed how mothers provide comfort, not just sustenance. Babies don’t grow attached to their mothers just because of food, it’s also for the cuddles and warmth and safety.
I do remember that. The experiment was used as an example of Nature vs Nurture. Videos of the monkeys showed them running between surrogates to have their needs met.

I remember the whale challenge in high school I remember being targeted to do it and I did but when it told me to carve a whale into my arm I was like nah fam I'm out and then the last day was to take pills and jump off a bridge into the water at like 4am. I'm glad that even though I was suffering from depression I wasn't a victim to the "whale challenge" they even put out an announcement at my high school telling students to not participate and kept a close eye on every student who was "at risk"
Glad you're still here. Where did you find out about it, and if you don't mind my asking, did they have any kind of collateral on you or was it all talk? I've heard of these challenges, but I honestly thought they were urban legends.
a lot of times it comes down to people who want to hurt themselves but dont want to take the responsibility of it. Being told to do it takes away that hesitation for some people.@@KiboSanti
I drive a lot for work in the earliest parts of the morning, and I've been listening to your videos for a couple months now, they're very entertaining and help the quiet and lonely early hours of the morning fly by for me. Super into your content, man. I'll keep watching if you keep sharing.
As someone who’s dreams are so active that they even include the characters from a tv show that someone is actually watching in rl, i’ve never seen”this man” in my dreams. He’s so unsettling and i feel bad for anyone that’s seen him 😭
I think it's fascinating how so many people on Tumblr have dreams about Obama giving life advice. For awhile I had dreams about the Eleventh Doctor (Doctor Who) taking me to Disneyland in the 60s. Dreams are SO COOL. I used to be really into lucid dreaming, but it got a bit intense.
Fun fact about Koro: it is one of the only "hysteria" disorders that affects all cultures around the world because almost all cultures have a significant meaning around the male genitalia. Any male from any background can experience it. This is rare because a lot of "hysteria" disorders are specific to regions of the world and what is happening in that region such as war, epidemic, drought, etc..
Watching your videos makes me feel incredibly validated and seen when it comes to my severe anxiety. Hearing you talk and joke about your experiences always helps me. Thank you ❤
I helped do a trial training of those AI robots in college. I was told at the time there were only two in the country. I was sat in a room alone with her, and had to have a full conversation with her, asking and answering questions.
4:00 - psychosis is terrifying in general. a lot of time these kinds of delusions don't manifest alone - they often come with more delusions that feed into each other and haunt you at the same time. it's not necessarily that something looks _wrong_ or _off_ about a person, it doesn't even need to involve their appearance at all. it's just the conclusion you reach after you've been drowning for months or years in a tangled mess of delusion. maybe they were abducted and replaced by aliens, maybe they were murdered and you're seeing their spirit, or maybe they were never your loved ones to begin with because they were government plants the whole time. it's the destination of grueling and nightmarish train of thought that can _only make sense to you._ psychosis can't be reasoned with, you can't just talk someone down from that precipice because - just as nothing _they_ say makes any sense to _you_ - nothing _you_ say will make sense to _them._ they experience a completely different reality. words can't express how exasperating and isolating it feels to try and explain what you're going through to lucid people, even professionals. the awkward stares and borderline condescending displays of concern are _perfectly_ reasonable from an outside perspective, but it's scary and humiliating all the same.
I talked to the people who created those robots. I posed as a potential buyer of one and was asking questions about it. And once u realize how they work they arent scary at all. All of their actions are pre-programmed and stored in a database and certain keywords or actions will trigger the action. They aren't "thinking" of the action to do in real time like it appears to be. Hopefully this makes sense ? So yea they are still years and years away from the robots we are actually scared of

I love both of your videos. You inspired her to do two camera angles.❤👍😊
'Auntie Kris' sent me here to your channel! ❤️
Honestly this is the only TH-camr who i actually take the time to watch now these days, bro stays true to himself
Auntie Kris sent me, just want to say you both are amazing humans and keep doing what your doing!
Auntie Kris sent me. This is very interesting information. Some of it I knew already but some I didn't know. I love to learn.
Auntie Kris sent me 💗 and I'm glad she did!
I’ve been loving this content! What’s more important is that it interests you and you enjoy doing it.
Auntie Kris sent me 😅
I already knew of this channel but I love the connection between youtubers!
Fun fact about Koro: it is one of the only "hysteria" disorders that affects all cultures around the world because almost all cultures have a significant meaning around the male genitalia. Any male from any background can experience it. This is rare because a lot of "hysteria" disorders are specific to regions of the world and what is happening in that region such as war, epidemic, drought, etc..
koro affects anyone.
men and women.

Ok I'm not a furry but around 29:54 there's a clip of my best friend from what I believe is furcon and she doesn't vandalize stuff :) 👍
I remember this. I thought it was a fun series. People who knew, knew and would have a blast in the comments.
Yep 😌

Kris has made us all go to you to tell you that she gave you a shout out 😁
Hi there 👋🏻 Auntie Kris sent me ❤ glad she did, excited to check out your content!
I helped do a trial training of those AI robots in college. I was told at the time there were only two in the country.
I was sat in a room alone with her, and had to have a full conversation with her, asking and answering questions.
This was absolutely amazing, PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE!!!
I laughed so loud at 9:20 it’s just numbers in German 😭
IT MAKES HIS SKIN CRAWL 😂
Auntie Kris sent me, and I'm enjoying this! ❤
Auntie Kris sent me! ❤️ I’m excited to watch your videos!!

I’m really glad that she introduced your channel, this topic is so fun fact
4:00 - psychosis is terrifying in general. a lot of time these kinds of delusions don't manifest alone - they often come with more delusions that feed into each other and haunt you at the same time.
it's not necessarily that something looks _wrong_ or _off_ about a person, it doesn't even need to involve their appearance at all. it's just the conclusion you reach after you've been drowning for months or years in a tangled mess of delusion. maybe they were abducted and replaced by aliens, maybe they were murdered and you're seeing their spirit, or maybe they were never your loved ones to begin with because they were government plants the whole time. it's the destination of grueling and nightmarish train of thought that can _only make sense to you._
psychosis can't be reasoned with, you can't just talk someone down from that precipice because - just as nothing _they_ say makes any sense to _you_ - nothing _you_ say will make sense to _them._ they experience a completely different reality. words can't express how exasperating and isolating it feels to try and explain what you're going through to lucid people, even professionals. the awkward stares and borderline condescending displays of concern are _perfectly_ reasonable from an outside perspective, but it's scary and humiliating all the same.
All your videos have been absolute bangers lately, and this "iceberg" video was really interesting and fun to watch. I need more!
Auntie Kris sent me 💖 so excited to discover your channel!!
"The internet is a terrible place" never more well said! 😊
35:02 WHO EDITED THIS I was praying for that Calebcity meme hahaha
Auntie Kris sent me! I'm enjoying your videos I'm so glad she shouted you out
Oompie please do more iceberg videos- I LIVE on them in the mornings and I almost peed my pants seeing that you posted one. Awesome video as always
So yea they are still years and years away from the robots we are actually scared of
Really enjoyed this video! I actually didn’t know about some of the things you mentioned and you have me intrigued on even more wild/crazy icebergs
How TH-cam lead me to your videos is beyond me but so happy to have found you! Great content and just love your humor!
What a coincidence! Auntie Kris sent me, too! ❤
Would love to see a series of these types of vids. You adding your classic humor that usually isn't present on other iceberg vids makes these a whole lot better, in my opinion. Also love any longer Oompa vids, regardless on what the specific content is. Great stuff mang.
