    As someone who went to the psychward, I can say that it isn't for everyone. However, Fousey is like an average resident I have seen in there. I can't say anything on what rehab is like. But this man needs something other than the people he keeps interacting with and then blowing up on.

    • @JanoyCresvaZero
      @JanoyCresvaZero ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I’ve been to a behavioral health unit on a 72 hour hold and been to rehab 5 times… there’s barely any difference, other than one prioritizes mental health and medication while one prioritizes abstinence from drugs and introductions to NA/AA. There’s a higher concentration of crazy in psych wards, but there are plenty of nutty people. I remember one dude who wore corduroy pants and a sweater every day. In October. It was at least 80 degrees every day… and this dude would talk to himself and sleep on benches in the hot sun. Ended up leaving on a psych hold because he decided to disrobe and jump in a nearby river.

    • @xiphiasoffishwell4781
      @xiphiasoffishwell4781 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I agree. I've been to both and he needs serious help. The people in rehab are some of the most amazing people I've ever met because they are all there fighting a common and understandable problem together. Half of the people in psych don't want to be there because they can be delusional and truly believe they are fine. Fousey is one of those people. I don't want to not like him because I hate disliking people but his actions are completely uncouth. I just hope that he can come to terms with the fact he is mentally unstable and seek the help he truly needs.

They dont care if you even can handle meds or they are appropriate. Its dangerous. I am on the spectrum and they dont consider that a bit when it comes to medication. As someone who has bipolar disorder and is in grad school to become a mental health clinician, it's really frustrating watching both Fousey's behavior and also people (understandably) try to rationalize it and come to the conclusion that he's either just a bad person or crazy. Mania absolutely does NOT excuse predatory or abusive behavior, and I don't condone any of the harmful things he's doing, but I also wish I had the space/time to really explain what it is and all the ways it can present (and it aligns pretty perfectly with everything he's doing), because most people have a very poor understanding of what it actually is. At this point, it's clear he needs to be hospitalized, so I'm glad he's been baker acted and is as safe as possible (the baker act has a lot of cons, but I have personally been hospitalized under it multiple times and sent to four different psychwards, and it seems like the least dangerous option right now). I hope people can remain somewhat open minded, compassionate, and use caution when reporting about the situation, because bipolar disorder can be an extremely severe and complex condition.

    • @inquiringminds6633
      @inquiringminds6633 ปีที่แล้ว +62

      exactly. He said to H3 he doesn't have bi polar just depression, then constantly blames his mental health for his disgusting treatment of others and behaviour. This is HIM, not mental health. It is a slap in the face to people with mental health problems.

I’m not saying he shouldn’t be held responsible, I’m just saying that someone should get him help. He needs someone to take care of him in his house and not let him out in public. As someone with a loved one who has bipolar disorder, I feel sympathy for Fousey and the people around him because most people don't understand how badly mania can mess up your thought process and it's scary, as I've seen my loved one go from the sweetest, timid and generous person you've ever met, to them going through months of erratic, aggressive, and odd behavior, that is similar to what Fousey has done in his manic state and it can last for MONTHS, maybe even longer if they are not helped. It doesn't excuse the bad things Fousey has done, and when he gets better I do hope that he can recognize the issues he's caused and try to make up for it, but it's still heart breaking for me any time I see someone go manic.

    15:55, the sobriety thing is tricky, I have someone close to me who suffers from manic episodes, and the first time I witnessed it I thought they were high on a stimulant because the behavior can be very similar,(rapid thoughts, non-sequiturs, no clear flow state and ever-changing ideas that are seemingly unrelated to one another all very fast.) This dude needs help, I wish there was some legal way to ban someone from the internet for their own safety like a judge could put some sort of injunction on him until he passes a probationary period and is approved by a professional mental health worker before they get back online. And Fousey may be the most visible at the moment with this issue, but there is a long list of very disturbed people that are exacerbating their problems by insisting on not just being online, but presenting themselves online in front of a camera for the public.
