- WARNING: Not liable for anything, ever.
If you have tried everything under the sun and still have a spongy brake pedal, this might be helpful in your case.
This is how to delete your rear-wheel ABS.
Enjoy!!

the nut on the line to the brakes was smaller than the hole in the proportion valve. the line that gets deleted, has the correct fitting, so I cut the line and took that fitting. removed the flare on the line to the rear brakes, and put on the larger diameter fitting and used a flaring tool to re flare the line and re connected. tools needed pipe cutter and flaring tool . all fixed, no parts bought, ABS GONE.
Dealing with this same problem on a 95 Sonoma, thanks for showing us the easy way!
Glad the video was helpful!
Thanks LMV I have tried everything to get some pedal in my 1993 work truck. Your fix worked, I had tried everything.
Nice! Glad the video was helpful! 👌
Thanks LMV I’m going to try this on my 1993 K3500.
Great video. Can you do a review on what the brakes feel like after the ABS delete? Have you thot about swapping the OBS master cylinder to a NBS?
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
I’ll pencil that in for a future video. 👌
I did think about it while I was replacing the old one but ultimately decided against because it’s a work truck so modifying it didn’t really make sense at the time.
Great video, so did the brakes at least get a better feel at the pedal?
Most definitely
Hi im new to fixing my own truck. Will this stop my ABS light from blinking? Also do you have a video on bleeding your brakes by yourself? I have no one to step on pedal
Thanks for the video i been having trouble with the pedal being spounge i will do that
Would a willwood adjustable proportioning valve be a better add on as well even with rear drum?
Did you have to remove the abs bulb out of the dash ? and also Did you have to bleed the brakes after the delete abs was completed ?
Didn’t bother to remove the bulb. I did bleed the brake system to make sure there was no air in the system.
did you need to leave the abs computer in?
Hi there, so I have a 90 c1500 and my lines are different. Does mine have the same abs? I assume it does. Thanks
This should be same for 88 gmc c3500 ?
So did you NOT need the threaded adapter?
Nope
very good video thanks , I will try this on my 91 GMC 1500
Glad it’s helpful! 👌
I did this, hopefully whenever i bleed the brakes they work...they started feeling spongy when i changed the front calipers and lines
@@MOE13576 did you bleed the system once you replaced the calipers and lines?
Very helpful Brutha
Funny thing we have van and truck 92 van 99 gmc lol same issues 🤦🏾♂️💪🏾👌🏾
Does the check engine light come on after the ABS delete? Mine is so spongy and the brake ls are weak, I can’t stand it.
Just the ABS
@@losmerosvera ah, thank you!
I have the same set up and the rear brake line feels like it would fit but I can't get it to thread in for the life of me
Try measuring the tread pitch with a tap/die. You might just need an adapter if the tread pitch aren’t the same size.
But did it work ?
@@danb.3397 It sure did in my case!
Did you use the bleeder tool for the combination valve
No, I didn’t touch the combination valve.
@@losmerosvera gotta use it to bleed the brakes rite
@@davidrowland2354 no, I bled them straight from the brake calipers as usual.
Did it stiffen the brake pedal?
@@MRJROD781 yes
Badass☆☆☆☆
good explanation, I liked the video and it was very useful for me, I did the same thanks alot
Thanks! I really appreciate the support!
Glad it was helpful! 🙏
Did it work?
Yes
Any issues with you brake warning light staying lit?
It stays on. Because we disconnect the connectors for the rear abs system, it no longer detects the rear abs.
@@losmerosvera Thanks for the info and great video, I figured the light would stay lit. I got to replace the entire 1/4" break line from front to rear and was dreading the ABS delete but since you made it look so easy I may leave it in and see if I can get my light to turn off. I will leave an extra loop in the line if I need to delete the ABS. Once again, thanks you for the great info
@@innisa glad it was helpful! 👌
If you leave the module plugged in you won't have warning lights, it doesn't know it isn't hooked up it just looks for resistance at the solenoid
@@redneck4528 thanks for the tip! 🙏
