There's actually quite the lore significance depending on Sunseeker or Mooncats. Female Suncats are subs. While Males are Alphas or betas. Female Mooncats are Doms. While Males are subs. Make sure you treat players appropriately. And scorn Male Vieras for not being hermits.

That's incorrect. Female Seekers of the Sun are still usually leaders of a tribe (source: official naming conventions and a quote made by M'rahz Nunh, one of the few Nunh that are also a so-called "alpha"), and even after becoming Nunh, said Nunh still has to actively work hard to keep his women entertained and ready to lay down with him (source: quotes made by female Seekers of the Sun in the Sagolii and, once again, M'rahz Nunh). This race is simply generally ruled by women, although Square Enix is partially at fault for this common misconception as both of the tribes with which you can interact ingame are ruled by a Nunh instead of something else (even though M'rahz makes an effort to mention how irregular this is).

Oh, especially how expressive their tail is! As an artist I love showing those tail expressions. I chose a voice for my catboy that makes his laugh sound almost feral

When I first made a character about a year and a half/2 years ago, I went with male catboi, shortest height, fluffy tail, etc and thought "...was making this as a joke and planned to go Hyur or Elezen but holy shit, no... this is perfection!" Logged in, ended up joining an FC 20min later, one asked me to /joy when I visited FC house an hr after that and when I saw the ear wiggle? Yep, sold. Still a male miqo'te. Zero plans on changing from it as ear wiggles are my life now. Also, the FC has dubbed me the FC's house cat (i catboi crouch sit on shelves/tables and have been given a tree house outside of FC house... i've accepted my place in the FC and embraced it). Life is good XD

Eirlys evergarden was born. It wasn't till after a realm reborn the person that was walking me throughout the game told me that i picked the most common race in the game. And I'll admit that still doesn't bother me too much, I think i made an exceptionally cute and badass Miqo'te. Side note, I cant wait for the graphics update, She looks even better!
I picked it because I’m insanely neurodivergent and a flashy character reflects my personality best. They can wear helmets, they have nicely defined emotes and have better models than highlanders. They don’t wear perma high heals, are average pleasant size and don’t look alien while having some exotic features. They are simply one of the best modeled and animated race with a ton of advantages and a wide variety of customizations afterwards. That’s the reason people often pick it as a main. Relatable and flexible.
The reason why I picked catboi was literally because of the stat as moon keeper as blm (when stat actually matter) because their mp was bigger than other races so essentially I can do another fire IV just before my mp ran out. This was during the time FFXIV was in it’s early stages. ;)
Honestly I always pick human in any game. This is the first game I decided to go for something different. I just liked the Miqote's hands. They are always CLENCHED ready to kill someone. Kinda cool.
I remember a time back in Heavensward when I was 1 of 15 or so female highlanders on my server. There were actually more fem roes than us. Then Stormblood came out, and more thighlanders appeared. I was all for it as I think thighlanders have some of the cutest animations in the game, but it did make me strive to stand out more.
I played FFXIV years ago, when A Realm Reborn was the only expansion out. I played a good 50+ hours, but I dont think it was over 100. I can't remember why, but i eventually stopped playing it. Trouble is, I can barely remember it, also, it's likely changed _so_ much since i played it back then. The complete edition that comes with base game and 3 DLC packs is £9.99 for the PS4, which is a good deal imo, but I can't get into games like I used to. It looks like a good game but I'm 50/50 as to whether I'd get into it ir not. Is it worth picking back up in 2023?
Honestly, it really depends on you, I could say it's worth it, but that's just because I spent a lot of time on this game. The game would have definitely changed from how it was back then, but there are multiple updated guides that can help you get into the game easy. I would always recommend getting the free trial of the game, but I don't recall if it is available for PS
The cat boys didn’t have a stupid run and their fist doesn’t go through their face when using return. Nor do are they stuck with perpetual pissed off face or perpetual derp face. Hence why I picked them (plus cats are awesome). Male Viera weren’t a thing when I started so they weren’t thrown into the consideration. Would likely have still gone with Mi’qote because Cats>Rabbits.
I wanted to pick Au Ra when I started on free trial years ago but couldn't. Catgirl grew on me. It's close enough to default I can get away with most outfits and still has cute cat things
0:40 I'm surprised to see the number of male Hyurs and Miqos that high. In my DC (Materia) they're quite sparse as we're overrun by the potatoes. Sidenote, I feel that male Miqos beat out the fem miqos in terms of expressiveness and uniqueness. Look no further than their /joy ear wiggle (male miqos moves their ears a lot more in their emotes then the fems) and their unique default 'sit' which is actually a slav squat. Also potatoe (Lalafell) experience when?
I made an alt Miqote male as i played through the story again....only to fall more in love with my alt than my own years worked main...ended up switching my main and alt because of it...and I gotta say...very accurate about the quiet stuff XD but more than anything...of all things that made me love the miqote...the FUCKING EAR WIGGLES!!!

The game would have definitely changed from how it was back then, but there are multiple updated guides that can help you get into the game easy. I would always recommend getting the free trial of the game, but I don't recall if it is available for PS

Male Viera weren’t a thing when I started so they weren’t thrown into the consideration. Would likely have still gone with Mi’qote because Cats>Rabbits.
I've been miqo'te since 2.0. the tail, the ears, the feline cat eyes, the aesthetics just do it for me. Enough said.
I wanted to pick Au Ra when I started on free trial years ago but couldn't. Catgirl grew on me. It's close enough to default I can get away with most outfits and still has cute cat things

I'm surprised to see the number of male Hyurs and Miqos that high.
In my DC (Materia) they're quite sparse as we're overrun by the potatoes.
Sidenote, I feel that male Miqos beat out the fem miqos in terms of expressiveness and uniqueness.
Look no further than their /joy ear wiggle (male miqos moves their ears a lot more in their emotes then the fems) and their unique default 'sit' which is actually a slav squat.

I made an alt Miqote male as i played through the story again....only to fall more in love with my alt than my own years worked main...ended up switching my main and alt because of it...and I gotta say...very accurate about the quiet stuff XD but more than anything...of all things that made me love the miqote...the FUCKING EAR WIGGLES!!!

I started as a Male Roegadyn.. and after clearing through Shadowbringers I decided I was tired of my Summoner and White Mage making me look like The Rock’s Toothfairy. Soo, I swapped to Female Miqo, and everything looks good now I’m kinda mad 😂
Female Miqo'te here. I style my cat in mostly grunge/emo aesthetics, and most of her glamours have barely any skin showing. I just picked a race that I think represented me the most:

Spent 2 hours in the character creation trying to recreate my dnd character but after a few hours i decided i hate how thoes giraffe Eezen look, switched to Miqo'te, coudnt v happier and couldn't care less what other people say, i love my cat and i wouldnt have him any other way
