I run childe raiden bennet xl cuz i have to free xq for sucrose taser comp, no morgana for the 2nd team, fml. yeah it works but raiden never get to ult within bennet ult. Still slaps 12-3 2 tho.
Raiden can work with fireworks team as well. Yes, Raiden's burst does not trigger Beidou's burst discharge. BUT... 5:02 In the standard fireworks team (Fischl), Childe does not stay on field (9-10s) for the entire Beidou's burst (15s) anyway, so you aren't actually wasting Beidou's burst. 5:14 Instead of swapping back and forth to generate energy, Raiden can just burst and recover all the energy. If you look at the domain timers in this video, the time used by the swapping supports to recover energy is 7s (34-27), which is the same duration as Raiden's burst. What I find guides always overlook is Beidou's C6: Reduce Electro RES of nearby enemies by 15% during Beidou's burst. So Raiden's burst can benefit from this, even if it doesn't trigger Beidou's burst discharge.
I think childe raiden is pretty good, it basically changes the way you recharge XL, the rotation is never extended since normally you take 10s or so to recharge XL with benette now you just use a raiden burst instead. And if you get benette good enough ER, mine is at 284%, benette can actually get his q before XL q ends which allows raiden to use a benette q to buff her q which is a huge amount dmg output during what is normally considered as downtime in a childe rotation

In CN community, rotation guide is quite common. It's good to see TenTen spreading this rotation knowledge to global server. I know this rotation very early, and I need to say that Childe is the only character that lets common players also have the chance to feel how SPEED RUN works. It's so amazing.
Still didn't go in depth enough for the international team though. If you understand Chinese, I suggest you search up 形与影's video where he goes super in depth down to tenths of a second and tell you exactly why with data backed up. He achieved 1st rank on the spiral abyss speed run leaderboard a while ago with his broken international team. I had to watch his video over and over again, maybe 4 times to comprehend everything, but it sure helped me achieve better results.
Childe is underrated when compared to the other dps in the game. His ability to do aoe damage and the fact that some of his best team comps are very free to play friendly as well, makes him a very great option to wish for.

The issue is not the CD of Childe, the issue is that during his attacking time, it won't be enough to fill XL ult and therefore ask you to funnel particles with Bennett for her, wich is, while you play on PS4 a bit of a pain because how is mapped the controller. It's doable but not super agreable when you have to face very aggressive ennemies at the same time
To me , quick swap is fun but , some times I feel I am being forced to not use childe long enough to enjoy his playstyle. Sadge , I feel the C1 is such a lazy constellation , It would have been better to improve this cool down based on how is plays , Like riptide slashes decrease the cool down by a small amount or something like that , C1 right now feels like they added 20 % longer CD just to offer it to you as a consellation
@@guillaumeb.3861 That’s why you bring Kazuha with you. Kazuha groups enemy for Childe, and he also generates a lot of particles. Benny is the Pyro battery and Kazuha is the 2nd battery

@@genshinsage fr tho, it also gets you to find your own favorite way of playing childe. Like for me i prefer vape childe cuz c0 xiangling pyronado makes it easier for me to time his E duration, and also cuz i like seeing big numbers on his burst lol
Childe is the kind of character playing whom makes you feel alive. Because you actively have to keep your head in the game compared to other comps. Which also makes the result all the more worth it, tbh.
All these talk bout Childe's team not being cheap to build or something. He uses some of the best units in the game so building them isn't really wasteful. I rather have variety stead of focusing on one hyper carry the can't do any after he gets counter. Imagine if flowers where full of slime monsters what then. Having hydro and pyro on a team has very good coverage for all types of enemies. Slap them in any think and they will do very good damge.
This is very helpful. I realise alot of ppl really don't understand how to use childe. But one of the things that affected childe was he came out in a time when the game just started and most ppl didn't understand the game alot, ppl didn't understand that different characters had different roles, ppl didn't know about team rotations and why it was important, they didn't know who is built is to be dps or who is built to be a support. Which childe is suffering from the stigma of ppl thinking he is a main dps that is suppose to stay on the field and spam autos for long period. Which months later ppl realise who wrong they were however by then it was already too late ppl where complaining about his cool down. If it wasn't for kazuya alot of ppl wouldn't understand how good it was to have swirl on ur team.(which is sad as sucrose/traveler/venti been there since the start) which mean TTD and snapshot was always a thing that players didn't know or understand the importance of it. I love his skill because it's completely manual to activate and deactivate when ever players choses. Sometimes u make a mistake and didn't hit or kill one enemy and u can simply choose to stay in the skill a little longer to get the job done. Or u mistimed ur other character cool down because u messed up the rotations u can stall with Childe skilled for a bit to get thing back in line. (Still lost of dps) but some dps is better than no dps. Lastly childe is key to the story of the game so expect to see him alot. Also every patch either childe or someone on his team gets buffed which means his value keeps going up over time.
When he got release, the game itself still allow him to be a main dps because most of players not yet touch World Level 8 or even 6. Back then, most of the monster are simple, not too strong, and the pattern of them are easy to read, thats why a good rotation is not really necessary at the beginning of his release. Now, he suffer to stuck with xiangling and unable to be a main dps anymore and just a sub dps and enabler. Alternative team is taser team but you need to overinvest on Beidou and Fischl to outdamage his duo with xiangling. He is a simple unit at the beginning but the game make him more complicated, because maybe mihoyo realise theres plenty of room for him to improve or maybe mihoyo just want him to be a meta, OR mihoyo just really love him without any reason.
well majority of playerbase is casual, not interested in meta I guess. he would do better wth more variety in his content but if he doesn't want to that's okay, it's more important to be comfortable with your content
Mostly because he doesn't sugar coat things in the slightest bit. As we know, the casual genshin community hates it when a unit is criticized. Zyox for example, has his video's thumbnails & titles highlight character's strength by using words like "broken". It's basically the current youtube META in terms of attracting viewers (Zyox's info are actually quite accurate despite the clickbaity thumbnails. Probably because he sources his data from keqmains) Tenten on the other hand, uses words like "weak, trash, unplayable, etc" for his thumbnail and titles which then attracts a lot of negativity on his channel. .
Thanks for the comprehensive guide with the explanations! I just picked up Childe for my national team and I was able to squeeze out a 3 star clear of 12-1 in abyss just now by tightening up my rotations. Looking forward to leveling up even more!

This is how units should be designed imo You either don't do much but offer very good comfort like Zhongli, or you offer insane dmg AoE and synergies but requires different techniques to utilize. And not Ganyu or Kazuha which just does too much for the effort required to use them
I'm glad that my boy is finally considered "good" by a majority. I remember a lot of people were shitting on him for the dumbest fucking reasons back during 1.1/1.4. Like his CD being super long, not realizing that staying on him for the entire duration is straight up dumb.

Another great video. Thanks for this! Another thing to note as why [Beidou E then Q] is important is that quick burst swapping into Beidou doesn't snapshot Bennett's ATK buff. I think her Q snapshots the stats at the start of the Q casting animation instead of the end(?), that's why you should wait for like half a second (or use E) before using her Q. 💜
I know a lot of casual player who love him since they only enjoy event and exploration but don’t care about abyss. Imo that’s true meaning of being casual player.
@@Azaleaaah not really. Early to mid game hyper carry need less resource. But at end game when you build whole team, you will see his team is one of cheapest team available for strong tier. Still, we don’t need strong team to clear abyss, just use whatever team that has good synergy.
Pretty sure JinJinx and Tuner showed the complete rotations in their Childe guide a couple months back. Though they've stopped making that sort of content for the newer characters, their old videos are still there.

3:37 kazuha plunge does not swirl pyro, but causing vaporize instead. Because there's two monster on the field, kazuha's E swirl hydro and spread it to other monster,so it didn't remove the hydro element on the monsters. Kazuha Plunge attack will apply pyro first,causing vaporize then apply anemo but since there's no element on them, so it will not increase pyro DMG.
Kazuha is so busted because he can double swirl. His first ascension passive allows him to swirl the pyro applied to him by Bennett's ult and he swirls all the hydro on enemies. This is how Xiangling and Childe can hit comparable numbers to C6 Sucrose Childe national and even harder with C2 Kazuha because a 1000 EM Kazuha is basically a second elemental goblet for them
@@Ivy-jq6di yes, I know but in this scenario he didn't do the double swirl, but only swirl hydro, the DMG buff only applied when pyro "swirl", not when kazuha infused pyro.

I’m a mobile user so I’m going to practice a lot on this rotation because I struggle a bit. I used to be a diluc main (super straightforward play style) so wish me luck.
Another trick I learned from Keqingmain: If you already mark your enemies with riptide, Xiangling Burst + Pyro Infused Sucrose/Kazuha/Venti burst can enable melee Childe to vape BOTH his intial slash AND Riptide burst. Pretty handy trick to quickly dispatch a large group of enemies in a single strike.
I got childe from his 1st rerun, never use him cause i accidentally (or lucky if only i want him but unfortunately im not really want him) get him on low pity before zhongli rerun. He sit in bench like 4 months, untouched, until the national team got more popular. This guide is perfect for me who really don’t want to main him but i have to know the knowledge of his playstyle cause every meta on the abyss is as random as i got him Thanks for the guide TenTen !
Okay this is very good but something to note with Fireworks comp and Bennet, or just Beidou and Bennet in general regardless of team one chooses to run. I'm not sure why but she needs a moment of field time to snapshot properly, unlike Xiangling if you instantly swap to her and press Q she will NOT snapshot the buff, she cast her ult faster then she uptakes the buff from bennet, but if you give her a brief moment, like with a skill cast then burst, she will snapshot it reliably. Its only half a second or so but its important.

Quadratic Scaling Calculation Comment: Given the way Mihoyo designs encounters there's no fight in the game that takes advantage of Childe's quadratic scaling the way it's being calculated by theorycrafters UNLESS they're trying to calculate overkill damage. The closest I've ever seen had 3 enemies. Right now if you have a fight with 5 hilichurls and 1 lawachurl the theorycrafters are taking 6^2 times riptide damage. However, the 5 hilichurls can't take more damage than their max HP and they're going to die in like 2 seconds and stop being multipliers for the lawachurl damage. This is 1 of those cases where how it looks on paper and how it performs rubber-meets-the-road has a huge disparity within the context of Mihoyo encounter design. The potential is still there for it be as powerful as it is on paper if Mihoyo ever designs an encounter that can truly optimize this damage.
Would be nice to know the minimum ER requirements of each member for both team. Especially Beidou, Xiangling and Childe, and if the Favonius weapons are really recommended on the anemo supports or not.
I'd never even consider using a Favonius Codex on Sucrose. Building crit rate on her just to get that little extra bit of energy is far from worth it, especially considering the fact that TToDS is going to get you much more damage than the little bit of extra offensive stats you can get by building a bit less ER on one character. For Kazuha, you do get value out of building damage on him, and there's no sword equivalent to TToDS (Well, there's Freedom-Sworn, but that's a limited 5* weapon), so Favonius Sword is a really good 4* option for him.
I think the MINIMUM ER requirements are calculated with the assumption that enemies drip 0 particles and that you are funnelling everything correctly.... Which isn't really what happens in actual combat because enemies drop particles as they lose HP and sometimes if you stagger or dodge you will not funnel energy into the right character because u didn't have time to swap units Anyway if you run into ER problems swap one of your supports onto a R5 Favonius weapon or just get an ER sands and test it out yourself I run Favonius Bennett and 160% ER Xiangling and it's still really good
Favonius Kazuha and Favonius Jean are really good. Kazuha really only care about EM and ER, if you can't keep Kazuha's burst up for teams that care about Auras like Melt Ganyu running an EM sword is less than optimal. For sucrose she has TTDS which is too good to sacrifice for extra energy imo, but if your units already hits too hard then sure

But seriously, he's so fun to play with. My team are Childe-Kazuha-Beidou-Fischl (Since Bennett got locked in Raiden team.) But yeah, just group up the enemy and go ham on them.
You could actually make a series out of this. Many guides do a verbal explanation, but for a game so focused on action, I feel like the best way is to just demonstrate it.

Finally the info I was looking for... I was trying to find out what's Childe's optimal E time since how much CD he gets is split in a not straight forward bracket. Anyway, sucks that I can't roll for him because I have other priorities right now so I don't have enough for everything. Maybe on his next rerun where I shouldn't have that much to roll for (assuming it's gonna be in like 6 months or something).

I have been using Childe for a while now but the problem is that I have still not mastered his team. The difference between the average clear and best clear time is fucking 16 seconds on the new fontaine artifact domain! Its massive! No other team was that fast and yet I can only sometimes get a time close it it. Even in the abyss my best clear with him is 34 seconds on the seahorse boss while the average time is about 1 min. Getting perfect runs with him is super hard and thats what keep the team fresh imo. I am in love with this team and will probably never switch
In the xiangling, bennett, childe, kazuha team. I play suboptimal rotation of xiangling E, bennett EQ, childe E2N, kazuha EQ, xiangling QE, childe QE3NC3NC3NC. The reason is that my kazuha has an EM crit build (about 700 EM, 40/120 crit) with R5 iron sting so he will be able to some vaporise dmg as well. Plus its easier.

I think the biggest issue with childe is that his rotations end up being greater than 20 seconds, which is the same extended rotation problem Raiden was criticized for. Even in this video the first 3 rotations shown are all 25-30 sec, and that's with good rotation management. In the abyss, that means you end up with 1 less rotation to get 3 stars compared to teams with 20 second rotations.
I like unga bunga, but Childe rotations are so satisfying to do once you get them right, I'm really sad he didn't come home to me on main when I finally could pull for him, I'm extremely tempted to spare him my Itto funds. It's nice to see people recognising his potential after all the passive-agressive memes first about his cool-down, then his rerun banners

dude I watch this right after Childe help me clear abyss. That's my 3rd day using childe in abyss for the first time. I need time to learn his rotation. Since it's hard, I just pair him with Zhongli to make it easier to learn his patern. End up using ZL, Fischl, Childe, Kazuha because I run Raiden national on 1st team.

Yeah I totally agree with F2P friendly but the downside is that the whole team has to be fully invested in.

Childe’s issue of his long cooldown is so overrated imo, I just play him as sub dps in a quickswap team and his cooldown is extremely manageable.
i didn't want him at first but ive been begging mihoyo for a hydro dps, but they keep bringing crap out so went for c1 to reduce it

The point does still stand though, for Hu Tao you can just stack 200ER on a level 60 XQ and that's functional

If it wasn't for kazuya alot of ppl wouldn't understand how good it was to have swirl on ur team.(which is sad as sucrose/traveler/venti been there since the start) which mean TTD and snapshot was always a thing that players didn't know or understand the importance of it.
I love his skill because it's completely manual to activate and deactivate when ever players choses. Sometimes u make a mistake and didn't hit or kill one enemy and u can simply choose to stay in the skill a little longer to get the job done. Or u mistimed ur other character cool down because u messed up the rotations u can stall with Childe skilled for a bit to get thing back in line. (Still lost of dps) but some dps is better than no dps.
Lastly childe is key to the story of the game so expect to see him alot. Also every patch either childe or someone on his team gets buffed which means his value keeps going up over time.
When he got release, the game itself still allow him to be a main dps because most of players not yet touch World Level 8 or even 6.
Back then, most of the monster are simple, not too strong, and the pattern of them are easy to read, thats why a good rotation is not really necessary at the beginning of his release.
Now, he suffer to stuck with xiangling and unable to be a main dps anymore and just a sub dps and enabler. Alternative team is taser team but you need to overinvest on Beidou and Fischl to outdamage his duo with xiangling.
He is a simple unit at the beginning but the game make him more complicated, because maybe mihoyo realise theres plenty of room for him to improve or maybe mihoyo just want him to be a meta, OR mihoyo just really love him without any reason.

well majority of playerbase is casual, not interested in meta I guess. he would do better wth more variety in his content but if he doesn't want to that's okay, it's more important to be comfortable with your content

Mostly because he doesn't sugar coat things in the slightest bit. As we know, the casual genshin community hates it when a unit is criticized. Zyox for example, has his video's thumbnails & titles highlight character's strength by using words like "broken". It's basically the current youtube META in terms of attracting viewers (Zyox's info are actually quite accurate despite the clickbaity thumbnails. Probably because he sources his data from keqmains)
Tenten on the other hand, uses words like "weak, trash, unplayable, etc" for his thumbnail and titles which then attracts a lot of negativity on his channel. .

I'm glad that my boy is finally considered "good" by a majority. I remember a lot of people were shitting on him for the dumbest fucking reasons back during 1.1/1.4. Like his CD being super long, not realizing that staying on him for the entire duration is straight up dumb.
Its pretty dumb for him to have a CD in 1.st place.

for the national rotation, you can double swirl pretty easily using guoba to swirl pyro. So childe e->bennet q->xl e->sucrose double swirl

I think her Q snapshots the stats at the start of the Q casting animation instead of the end(?), that's why you should wait for like half a second (or use E) before using her Q. 💜

No you are right the first time. You must wait for Xiangling Pyronado to end for the vaporize damage until you switch out Childe.

Sometimes I'd rather have a cons of him that decreases his Q CD than his E CD, especially after casting his Bow stance Q.

3:37 kazuha plunge does not swirl pyro, but causing vaporize instead. Because there's two monster on the field, kazuha's E swirl hydro and spread it to other monster,so it didn't remove the hydro element on the monsters. Kazuha Plunge attack will apply pyro first,causing vaporize then apply anemo but since there's no element on them, so it will not increase pyro DMG.
Kazuha is so busted because he can double swirl. His first ascension passive allows him to swirl the pyro applied to him by Bennett's ult and he swirls all the hydro on enemies. This is how Xiangling and Childe can hit comparable numbers to C6 Sucrose Childe national and even harder with C2 Kazuha because a 1000 EM Kazuha is basically a second elemental goblet for them
@@Ivy-jq6di yes, I know but in this scenario he didn't do the double swirl, but only swirl hydro, the DMG buff only applied when pyro "swirl", not when kazuha infused pyro.

You don't need them for Childe to be strong. But if you have them, Childe will be way stronger

Another trick I learned from Keqingmain: If you already mark your enemies with riptide, Xiangling Burst + Pyro Infused Sucrose/Kazuha/Venti burst can enable melee Childe to vape BOTH his intial slash AND Riptide burst. Pretty handy trick to quickly dispatch a large group of enemies in a single strike.
I really needed this because i want to use Childe more often. This video helps, thank you.

I got childe from his 1st rerun, never use him cause i accidentally (or lucky if only i want him but unfortunately im not really want him) get him on low pity before zhongli rerun.
He sit in bench like 4 months, untouched, until the national team got more popular.

Okay this is very good but something to note with Fireworks comp and Bennet, or just Beidou and Bennet in general regardless of team one chooses to run. I'm not sure why but she needs a moment of field time to snapshot properly, unlike Xiangling if you instantly swap to her and press Q she will NOT snapshot the buff, she cast her ult faster then she uptakes the buff from bennet, but if you give her a brief moment, like with a skill cast then burst, she will snapshot it reliably. Its only half a second or so but its important.

Quadratic Scaling Calculation Comment:
Given the way Mihoyo designs encounters there's no fight in the game that takes advantage of Childe's quadratic scaling the way it's being calculated by theorycrafters UNLESS they're trying to calculate overkill damage. The closest I've ever seen had 3 enemies.
Right now if you have a fight with 5 hilichurls and 1 lawachurl the theorycrafters are taking 6^2 times riptide damage. However, the 5 hilichurls can't take more damage than their max HP and they're going to die in like 2 seconds and stop being multipliers for the lawachurl damage.
This is 1 of those cases where how it looks on paper and how it performs rubber-meets-the-road has a huge disparity within the context of Mihoyo encounter design. The potential is still there for it be as powerful as it is on paper if Mihoyo ever designs an encounter that can truly optimize this damage.

Would be nice to know the minimum ER requirements of each member for both team. Especially Beidou, Xiangling and Childe, and if the Favonius weapons are really recommended on the anemo supports or not.
I'd never even consider using a Favonius Codex on Sucrose. Building crit rate on her just to get that little extra bit of energy is far from worth it, especially considering the fact that TToDS is going to get you much more damage than the little bit of extra offensive stats you can get by building a bit less ER on one character.
For Kazuha, you do get value out of building damage on him, and there's no sword equivalent to TToDS (Well, there's Freedom-Sworn, but that's a limited 5* weapon), so Favonius Sword is a really good 4* option for him.
I think the MINIMUM ER requirements are calculated with the assumption that enemies drip 0 particles and that you are funnelling everything correctly....
Which isn't really what happens in actual combat because enemies drop particles as they lose HP and sometimes if you stagger or dodge you will not funnel energy into the right character because u didn't have time to swap units
Anyway if you run into ER problems swap one of your supports onto a R5 Favonius weapon or just get an ER sands and test it out yourself
I run Favonius Bennett and 160% ER Xiangling and it's still really good
Favonius Kazuha and Favonius Jean are really good.
Kazuha really only care about EM and ER, if you can't keep Kazuha's burst up for teams that care about Auras like Melt Ganyu running an EM sword is less than optimal.
For sucrose she has TTDS which is too good to sacrifice for extra energy imo, but if your units already hits too hard then sure

Well I don't have issue with Childe himself but the only issue is waiting for Xiangling's energy to full in order to use her Burst 😭.
Give her The Catch polearm and the Emblem set, she'll get more ER. She needs about 190 ER.
I use 2pc Crimson and 2pc Noblesse on her with relatively good stats as well as Dragon's bane as a weapon Is it worth switching to 4pc Emblem?

But seriously, he's so fun to play with. My team are Childe-Kazuha-Beidou-Fischl (Since Bennett got locked in Raiden team.) But yeah, just group up the enemy and go ham on them.
You could actually make a series out of this. Many guides do a verbal explanation, but for a game so focused on action, I feel like the best way is to just demonstrate it.

People who say that usually don't even bother to understand him, before i got childe like 2 days ago, i would always read comments abou how awful his cooldowns are, and now that i got him, i truly don't understand those comments, i haven't had a single problem with his cooldowns and i have him at c0

I have been using Childe for a while now but the problem is that I have still not mastered his team. The difference between the average clear and best clear time is fucking 16 seconds on the new fontaine artifact domain! Its massive! No other team was that fast and yet I can only sometimes get a time close it it. Even in the abyss my best clear with him is 34 seconds on the seahorse boss while the average time is about 1 min. Getting perfect runs with him is super hard and thats what keep the team fresh imo. I am in love with this team and will probably never switch

In the xiangling, bennett, childe, kazuha team. I play suboptimal rotation of xiangling E, bennett EQ, childe E2N, kazuha EQ, xiangling QE, childe QE3NC3NC3NC. The reason is that my kazuha has an EM crit build (about 700 EM, 40/120 crit) with R5 iron sting so he will be able to some vaporise dmg as well. Plus its easier.

I think the biggest issue with childe is that his rotations end up being greater than 20 seconds, which is the same extended rotation problem Raiden was criticized for. Even in this video the first 3 rotations shown are all 25-30 sec, and that's with good rotation management. In the abyss, that means you end up with 1 less rotation to get 3 stars compared to teams with 20 second rotations.

I like unga bunga, but Childe rotations are so satisfying to do once you get them right, I'm really sad he didn't come home to me on main when I finally could pull for him, I'm extremely tempted to spare him my Itto funds. It's nice to see people recognising his potential after all the passive-agressive memes first about his cool-down, then his rerun banners
Childe really has one of the most, if not the most, enjoyable playstyle in genshin impact.
