Hey-- One of my favorite saws--I have a few........ One with a bow bar--wonderful for bucking wood. I started collecting 3 year ago. Do not get discourged about it. You will get it buzzing again. I got a mcculloch 10-10 works great ,then carb kit,work good then lost spark. great satisfaction in a good magnesium saw. I also love the GEAR REDUCTION SAWS. have a old sears G4D 1/2 chain throws big old chips. Get some chaps,helment/screen with ear muffs. Chainsaw collectors corner and Arborist site good info. I need to learn how to post videos--David
Did you say you resealed it as in new crank seals? If not that may be your issue. You should be tuning the saw right from the get go because if it's running lean you melt them down or score them up pretty fast.
Screw the jets all the way out pull the cord a few times to flush the jets and then put them back in and set at 1.5 turns and if it's ok it should run like a top !!!
Dude that's sacrilege to put a skip tooth chain on a real chainsaw such as a old XL , THOSE OLD SAWS HAVE ENOUGH TORQUE AND RMP TO PULL A FULLHOUSE CHAIN ,RAKERS DROPPED BY 50 THOU ! THAT SAW IS NOT RUNNING LIKE IT SHOULD LOL ,MINE WILL LEAVE THAT ONE SITTING AT THE BARK LOL ,YOUR TO RICH

So which oil tank do you use? You have morphed two different models together. Most of the saw is a XL Automatic.
