Your Mom looks terrific! What a great sport she is to let you show her looking "older" and "younger." I've always taken care of my skin (I'm now 67). A positive attitude, facial exercises, laughter, eating right, exercise, drinking plenty of water, never smoking, and not burning in the sun much, all make a big difference. Good luck with your new channel! Best wishes, Dianna
I am so happy to see someone older than 20 putting on some makeup! It is so hard for me at 58 to follow along with someone young applying makeup so thank you and thank your Mom! What a huge difference, thank you both...........Mary
Mary Palmer hi, I am 67 and wouldn’t dream of leaving home without makeup. I use skin care and makeup by Estée Lauder and have done so since as a teenager my mother introduced me to this brand. It’s gorgeous and loyal to the brand. Regards Liz
I absolutely love your channel, I am older than your Mom and I have learned more about how to work with mature skin than I have on any other channel. You explain it so well and I love the relationship that you have with your dear Mom, she is beautiful and so lucky to have a daughter like you! Thank you so much for helping us older women to try to look good at our age. You are a beautiful person!
I just discovered you this evening. I am thoroughly enjoying learning from the two of you. Firstly, your Mom does not present at 65! What a radiant beauty. Secondly, thank you for providing such great tutorials for the 55+ set. I am finding your suggestions very worthwhile!
Another excellent example of allowing people to see the power of make-up. My skin has changed so much with medication and I am having to revise my skincare and how I apply make up. For the 1st time in my life I look older than I am.... there were a few tips I have taken from this video. Your mum is such a beautiful glam lady. Such a shame the beauty industry don't recognise how we mature ladies and ladies well into their 60s still love our skincare and absolutely still want to look glam.
Hello from USA! So nice to see a mother and daughter involved in such things. What a great way to bond! Thanks again for all your great tips and ideas. Looking forward to watching more!
Your mother is drop dead gorgeous! See what you have to look forward to because you are a younger version of her!!! She is so elegant and you did a fabulous job with this video. I got a lot out of it, thank you.
I was just thinking the same with the hair cut. I was even wondering if I could pull it off . I don’t think I can though , mum has beautiful bone structure and strong jaw and beautiful cheeks. I have a round face and it’s puffy due to illness and medication. But wow if I could I definitely would, I took a screenshot of the haircut and colour going to take it to my salon to see if I can.
Excellent tips! Very noticeable difference. I will be 65 in a few days and will certainly try your method. Your mom is beautiful as is her daughter. Only came across your channel yesterday, but will definitely be checking it on a regular basis. Thank you so much for sharing!! Lorna
1 exfoliate away dead skin layer 2 moisturize 3. Use luminous foundation 4. Use more targeted hydrating concealer 5. Use less powder 6 thicken brows 7 no glitter on lid wrinkles 8 get rid of redness in tear duct line 9. Blush higher up and out, away from nasolabial or apple of cheeks 10. Liquid highlighter
You have no idea how much I appreciate your channel !! The other day I had a "free" makeover from Sephora. Even though they assured me they do lots of older women (I'm 66) it was terrible! My mascara was heavy black (way too dark for me) and layered thickly on top and bottom lashes. She kept slathering on concealer until I had wrinkles upon wrinkles that I didn't even know I had! Even though I asked for matte eye shadow, she put liquid shimmer stuff and a dark purple that made my eyes look bruised. My foundation and lips were OK but all I could see were those eyes. When I got home I took it all off right away. The next day I did my makeup using makeup I have bought that was suggested by you and using your tips. I posted it on FaceBook and basked in the glowing comments. Were it not for you I would have just thought that there is no use putting on makeup because it only makes me look older.
Unfortunately anyone over the age of 35 seem to be forgotten at makeup counters and the staff are only trained in the techniques for the instagram folk. Its a shame because makeup is universal. xxx
I love watching you and your mum do videos together, firstly because you get on so well and secondly because we’re not all in our twenties, so it’s good to learn how to enhance what we have.
I am 55 with dry, dehydrated skin and I found this video very helpful. I know a lot about makeup but still tend to slack off with exfoliating, so your clear explanations made me feel inspired to be more vigilant.
I have no idea how I found this when I was looking for eyeshadow for teens (?) but what a Happy Accident!!! Serendipity!!! I've been watching your videos ever since, getting great tips and enjoying your postitive attitude. I find myself smiling all the way through. Wow - what a difference you can see between the two sides. Thank your Mum for being such a great sport!
Thank you both so much ladies. I am 54, mother of 4, grandmother of 6. Years ago I used to have the make up thing down. Cut to years later, (now). Way out of practice, and the rules I used to go by do not apply for me anymore. This was so very helpful. I've been getting results more like mom's right side. Love, love the more toned down natural looking left side. Great look on you mom by the way. You are both beautiful. I've subscribed and look foreword to watching more of your vids.
I love your refreshing new take on beauty on you tube. You are not a 20 year old clone of every other beauty influencer with the same looks, same way of doing makeup and a face full of fillers. LOVE this!
This video resulted in my subscribing to your channel. I’m 49 and trying to learn how to put makeup on my aging face. I have to say - cheers to your mom for being such a good sport! Thank you for the helpful video.
Thanks Pamela. My mum is a champion. She never answers the phone unless she’s got her makeup on 😂 so I was ever so grateful that she came on my channel. Thank you for subscribing xxx
thank you so much for this video. I have just found you on you tube. so refreshing to be able to see make up on someone older. I am 57 and want to make the most of myself so these tips are fantastic. Thank you to you and your lovely Mum x
Your mother is very pretty! So are you! Good job of doing make up too. I do alot of what you suggest since I'm not 21 anymore! You're very sweet too, the way you teach people, you seem to care about people's feelings.
I am going to try putting on my liquid/cream highlighter before foundation. Nice tip! I like highlighters, but they can be difficult on mature skin. So far, I have just used a lightly applied illuminator after bronzing, and before blush. I know that is not the norm, but I like the finish doing it this way. I am going to try it before foundation...and see the results! Thank you for for this tip!
I agree w/ Mary Palmer, any help is appreciated when it comes to helping mature ladies w/ a younger look, my B-day's the 28th this month& I'll be 53yrs old & I really can relate! Thank-you!
I love when you have your mom as your model!! These tips are helpful as I am also a mature woman. *I now have drier skin, no matter how much I moisturize and i only use a tint. Perhaps I need to exfoliate 3 times a week. I find that powder blush ages me. I now use a cream blush that works best for my dry skin, however, the colors and brands are limited. I am presently using Jane Iredale cream blush. Thanks for all of the tips that you mentioned!
You two are good at doing this, I cant even wax my grandma's eyebrows and lip without both of us cracking up and laughing the whole time! You and your mom are so gorgeous.
Thank you! I have gotten some wonderful tips...so far I am doing everything right...at 70 years old! The only thing I need to change is how I apply my blush. You and your Mom are stunning!
I didn’t even get thru a full minute of your video and I like you already. Love how your passion shows and how you said that “you should enjoy your makeup” and you and your mother are ADORABLE! Looking forward to watching the rest of your video!
These are great, usable tips. You’re mum is obviously a lovely person, because I believe negative people often reflect that in their makeup regime. She’s beautiful and so it’s so kind of her to do this 🥰! At the end I was laughing and saying “stop saying ‘fine lines and wrinkles’❣️ Great tips, concisely delivered. Others could definitely learn by watching you 😊😘 xxx
Wow. I just followed this channel and these tips are amazing. I love the side-by-side make-up comparison. You truly get the look both results. Thank-you.
I really appreciate all the helpful tips (since I'm getting ready to hit the big 6-0 here - ha!). Your mom is beautiful to begin with, and even MORE so with the thoughtful way you've applied her makeup. Thanks, Annette
Love this tutorial, I’m still doing the 80s blusher trick so I’m changing that from today. I didn’t realise what a difference the lip colour could make either. Thank you ❤️🐞
It makes a huge difference doesn't it Teresa. I'm not sure why we're so overlooked. Makeup doesn't sit the same on skin when you hit a certain age. Xxx
I stumbled upon your channel a few days ago and I can't tell you how much time I have already spent watching your videos lol. I love that you provide realistic tips and techniques for makeup application for those of us no longer in our 20s! It has helped me greatly already and I have sent a few of your videos to my mom and encouraged her to check out your channel. My routine has already changed for the better in just a few days lol and can't wait to see what else you have to offer! And your mom is just precious. ❤
I am 46, but never took care of my skin beyond washing and moisturizing. So, I have quite a few fine lines and wrinkles. I have found your tutorials to be probably the best, realistic and informative videos on TH-cam. Thank you, and your mom ☺) so much.
Your mom looks great, meaning very current, fresh, and stunning! I wouldn't say she looks "older" in the before pic, rather she looks more "current" with the softer look! Great job!
Brillo that video has helped a lot. I think I need to declutter and start again. But I don't want to spend hundreds, at make up counters. The odd thing yes! I have to lose the matte look. I've been watching too many young girls making themselves up! Tks again x
I know this video is a year old, but I wanted to comment on how much I appreciate your makeup tips and info. Your mum is GORGEOUS and her coloring is similar to mine so I really enjoy learning from both of you on all the products and techniques to use with them. I am more mature, but YOUR in depth reviews and observations are just as valuable to me as seeing how it all works on your mum! Thank you so much for all the time you take researching and doing these videos for us.
your mom has innocent, young looking eyes.. a brightness about them that suggest a woman younger than her years. i call them soulful in other videos and it is rare that you see that quality in blue or lighter colored eyes. she has them, tho! really good video.
Thank you so much for these tips which I agree with you to a point. Imagine for a moment this, take a piece of shiny paper and then a piece of regular paper and crumble them up. Look at them side by side. You will see that the matte side doesn't show the lines and wrinkles like the shiny paper does. I wear matte foundation and I look older with dewy or shiny foundation. Ladies check it out for yourself.
Isnt Moms hair natural? It’s colored? Looks wonderful to me! UPDATE: Jan announced on a different video her hair color is natural! But Her hair cut is really flattering!
You really helped me understand what to do with make up now that I'm in my mid fifties . I can totally see the difference with the way you showed us with your beautiful mum. Thank you very much for your insight .
Gemma, you and your mum are just the very best. I so enjoy watching you both. Thank you for being a great teacher and for your mum being a great model.
I love it!! What a huge difference. Shes beautiful either way but might as well give her the best options to play up her natural beauty. Thank you for these lovely tips. I think we can all benefit from these tips no matter your current age :)
Love this. I am around your mum’s age and agree totally with everything you suggest. Good to know about the light lipstick because I thought it actually made the lips look bigger. Have you seen Charlotte do her mum, Patsy? You both would love. It’s about four years old and it still on TH-cam. Love these videos that you do.
Love all of these tips for mature ladies. Appreciate your mother being a willing model because its very effective in helping us see the differences on the two sides of her face. Enjoyed!!
This is so helpful. I'm 51 and for the past few years i've found a lot of the products & application techniques I've used just don't work for me anymore, but I didn't know what to change. I stopped using blusher altogether because neither powder or creme blush seemed to look right anymore- and now I know why! Thank you to you and your mum xx
Thank you so much for your videos - I’m working my way through them all. I would love to see one about your skincare regime - what you use, when, how often etc please!
Absolutely stunning......I love to see the dramatic finished look.I would guess I am the same age as your Mom and these tips and applications are so helpful....Thank you so very much!!!
Thank you so much for all of the helpful tips you share with us. Such good quality content, I absolutely adore your channel! Hope you and your beautiful mother have an amazing weekend!
If your skin is sensitive it's very difficult to recommend products to you as I don't know what triggers your sensitivity. It's a case of trial and error. Have you tried Bare Minerals? Maybe their mineral powders might be a good starting point. I like the Bare Pro Pressed Powder. xxx
Such great tips! I'm 58 and have been disappointed after putting my makeup on. You've helped me so much. Thank you for helping those of us who have more issues to deal with as we age!
Lovely video! Great tips that I’ll start using. Sometimes us older gals just don’t see something is wrong until we look at a comparison like this one. I just started using a foundation that leaves a luminous look. Oh my gosh I’m throwing away my matte foundation. What a difference. I’m first going to try lessening the amount of eye liner. That impressed me most. Can you do a video of how you did your Moms eyebrows. I’ve subscribed so will look through and see if I can find one you may have already done. Thanks for the great video. Your Mom is very beautiful.
Love the video! I will be using your tips when applying my makeup. I am in my mid 30’s and truly appreciate watching someone who isn’t 20 and doesn’t have to worry about any of the issues you addressed. Thank you 😊
Your Mum is beautiful and very generous of herself to allow us to see the dramatic difference in using appropriate makeup and techniques for mature skin. I'm 53 and am relearning how to apply makeup for my face now as oppose to 20-30yrs ago. I do get my brows professionally shaped and dyed every month, it's so worth it. Perhaps your Mum might consider. Don't have to fuss with brow products much and gives great definition to face.
Thanks DCV207. I don't think she'll be interested though. She never really fusses with her eyebrows at all. She thinks it's a waste of time....and if she's happy, I'm happy. I might dye mine though xxx
Go for it, your Mom is wonderful just as she is. Also I tried your funny face concealer application and wet sponge for with setting powder, it worked and made me laugh. A 2for
I love watching your makeup tutorials. Very informative. I was wondering if you have done one on the Clinque brand. I have had more luck with it than any other as far as their foundations. I am 62 and have learned so much from your mom's segments. Thanks, Lorraine
Just found your channel. Love it!! I'm 46 and on HRT. Had a hysterectomy in my 20s and ovaries removed a year and a half ago. My skin and hair are changing so fast. It's very disheartening. I don't look or feel right at all. You are giving me a bit of hope. Thanks, beautiful ladies!
Your Mom looks terrific! What a great sport she is to let you show her looking "older" and "younger."
I've always taken care of my skin (I'm now 67). A positive attitude, facial exercises, laughter, eating right, exercise, drinking plenty of water, never smoking, and not burning in the sun much, all make a big difference.
Good luck with your new channel!
Best wishes,

I disagree with the tip on lipstick, red makes your lips look thinner, lighter colours make lips look bigger
My mom wears make-up every day and she is seventy looks great
I am very pale. I like that you have chosen a gorgeous lip color that fell made her look gorgeous. You have a pretty person to help your instruction.
Check out utube channel hotandflashy for make up for more mature women.

Totally agree, fabulous hair👩🏼

Thank you. I am 59 and I my face is naturally oily. It is also very sensitive. I never know what to use.
This is really good. I've seen both styles on older women. You pointing out these effects is really helpful! Well done.
Your mum is gorgeous, she reminds me of Anna Farris. Thank you for this tutorial and tips video, very helpful for me since I am 50 this year.
I agree !!! Your mum certainly looked younger with the right makeup. Her hair suits her too. Thank you. xx
Awe...you two are so cute together...a great team and must say your mom's just beautiful 😘❣️❤️
Everyone must tell your mother she looks like Anna Faris! So beautiful! 😃
She does
Yesss I couldn't pin point it but you nailed it. Sooo pretty
Kudos to Mom for being a good sport about being seen without makeup, and with the wrong makeup. She is naturally beautiful, both inside and out!
Great, instructive video and your mom is gorgeous!
Love the video! I will be using your tips when applying my makeup. I am in my mid 30’s and truly appreciate watching someone who isn’t 20 and doesn’t have to worry about any of the issues you addressed. Thank you 😊
I really enjoy your videos, always lots of information and good tips. I like the side by side comparison. You are both beautiful women.💜💋
A revolution!!! Thank you. The BEST EXPLANATION. 😍
A 2for
Thank you for your video. Very. Informative and interesting.
I love watching your makeup tutorials. Very informative. I was wondering if you have done one on the Clinque brand. I have had more luck with it than any other as far as their foundations. I am 62 and have learned so much from your mom's segments.
Thanks,
Lorraine
I've only reviewed the Beyond Perfecting. It's in my library of past videos xxx
Thank you! What a difference. Love these tips and your Mom looks awesome
This was done really tastefully and your mom looks beautiful! The tips for us older folk really do make a difference! Thanks mom and Gemma!
You did an amazing job. Thanks for all your wonderful tips.
Hope you are back to feeling yourself soon xxx
So nice to see you both working together, thnx for the tips very much appreciated 👋🏼
Your mom looks just amazing, for ANY age! You are lucky to have such good genes💟Thanks for the helpful content both of you.
