- I'm a huge fan of Trinny London Makeup, but as with all brands I'm never going to like everything. So here's my rundown of what I think are the best and the worst that the brand has to offer.

I live in the U.S. and have ordered a huge amount of Trinny products over the last few years. I've loved most of them, especially the eye shadows, lip to cheek, lip gloss, just a touch, spf light coverage and de-stress foundation. The ability to stack what I want to throw in my purse for the day is simply genius packaging and keeps me coming back for more. My one HUGE disappointment is with her EYETALLICS. I bought all of them plus a few duplicates to give as Christmas presents when they were introduced They were awful, for pretty much all of the reasons you mention in your review, plus they completely dried out in a few weeks. I was never able to use them or gift. When I contacted TL I was told they were re-formulating the product and fixing all of these issues. Once they reformulated, the colors were so beautiful I purchased them again. (Stupid me) They were awful, again! I think what hurts so much about this besides the fairly large amount of money I wasted is that Trinny hasn't been honest about this and she continues to sell a product that's crap to her very loyal trusting customers. I just don't understand it.
I'm a huge fan of Trinny London makeup, and I agree entirely with your best/worst products. I loved the brow gel but not the mascara, same as you. I think the unique thing about the Sheer Shimmer is that it makes a beautiful highlight as well as lip gloss. Although, I have to say I prefer the Lip Glow for lips and the Starlight as a highlight, so I probably won't repurchase the Sheer Shimmer. I'm one of those who loves Just a Touch over my tinted sunscreen for every day. You have me curious about the BFF Rebalance, though! I love this brand! Love the sheer textures that give beautiful color and on me, are long lasting. The products themselves last a long time even though I use them every day. As an over-60 woman, I would love to see you apply a face of Trinny London to your beautiful mom!
I know that the Eyetallics had issues as they dried out quite quickly the new Eyetallics (Dec) come in a more tight fitting screw top. I know people who have added jojoba oil to the old Eyetallics and that has worked for them. I am a super fan of Trinny London products.
The best thing about the Trinny London products is the genius invention of the stackable pots!! Love you @Trinny😘
I really like the concept of the Trinny makeup stackable pots. However I find the makeup doesn’t last and in my opinion is overpriced.
I could not agree more. I bought some and was so disappointed with it. Gave it away to a friend who felt the same and binned it
I feel the same, I bought bff + miracle blur. I was very disappointed + it sits unused in my make up drawer. I find the Benefit pore professional is so much better. Sadly it has put me off purchasing any further products🙈
Same here. Theory was wonderful but the quality was very poor
Depends how you apply it ! Best use brushes as opposed to fingertips I’ve found and can get a day out of it easily
This is my all time favorite make up!! Lasts forever on me and I have never worn it that at least one person has commented on how lovely my skin looks.but always when I wear hers. Big big fan👍❤😀
I bought the Eyetallic eyeshadow (think that’s what it’s called). It was perfect at Christmas when I first got it and used it about twice. Covid hit and of course I didn’t really have the need to use it...I went back to it 6 months later and it was literally dried out. Couldn’t even get anything on my finger and it had been kept airtight. The brand were great and swapped it for another product but if you read the reviews of people who have had it a little while it appears a common problem x
SNY75. Interesting. I’ve used two metallic sparkly eyeshadows for fun when I travel. They’re going great. Fingers crossed but all good. Wonder if storage conditions play a role in how it behaves??
Try putting some Inglot’s Duraline into these dry eyeshadow pots. That product is magic!
I am in love with bff. The de stress I absolutely hated. I love the concealer but wish it had more coverage and was cheaper. The eye 2 eye and lip 2 cheek I wouldn't spend another penny on, too expensive and don't last....only really good for women with lots of disposable income. I wasn't that bothered about just a touch but I love it now. Gaia golden glow is absolutely gorgeous, soooooo creamy. Bff is honestly life changing though.
I’m so glad you’ve done this I thought it was just me. I felt the miracle blur was clever hype it didn’t make any difference to my lines. Again surprised at some of the other products the quality was poor and price expensive.
I also tried the blur cream. It was expensive and made no difference at all.
I agree. Miracle blur is useless. It just pils into little clumps and falls off. Completely useless. The only product I like is BFF but it is expensive at £35.
I bought a load of Trinny after watching your initial review. But I wasn't a big fan when they arrived. The miracle blur just didn't work after a couple of weeks. It seemed to stop blending.... I found the eyeshadows creased, and the lip colour had no staying power. The foundation and concealer were too dark (which is part of the difficulty in buying products online) so I passed that on to a friend. I did like the blusher... and the bff skin tint shenanigans....But not enough to repurchase. Much prefer eborian.
I didn't think any of it was worth the price point.
Also had trouble with getting the Miracle Blur to work. I found it too ‘dry’ and crumbles when applying it. TL says my pot is as it should be but compensated me with a discount code for a future purchase. I was impressed with their customer service as it’s well passed the return date. Meanwhile love the skincare and the BFF…
Have you tried pressing the eyetallics onto your lid? I can't drag mine, but patting/pressing works really nicely.
Thanks Gemma a very thoughtful video! I live in Melbourne Australia & will be 60 next March. I have purchased quite a number of Trinny eye to eye colours thankfully only 1 of the eyetallics (gorgeous looking metallic blue Persephone) it was too dry to apply from the minute I opened it on Xmas day… so that was a disappointment, luckily I have Inglot’s duraline & a couple of drops added to the pan softens the consistency so Persephone is usable. Of all the other eye to eyes for my hazel golden green eyes, I love fortune, virtue, justice (a brilliant no makeup colour) vision a lovely matte dusty pink (i use as a blush as well) so great in the crease with justice on the lid, courage truth & fortitude all divine, I agree with you about the golden glow my colour is Soala, but I use the eye to eye in truth as a Trinny bronzer it’s perfect 👍🏽 (I use the 3 darker Mother Earth collection also on the lips) moon is stunning, with the silvery magician as is chariot on my eye colour, emperor, strength and universe are all dark & matte with great colour payoff… phew 😮💨 Am still in a state of want for chalice, Queen, and starlight! I don’t use foundation at all but I did buy bff in medium, perfect colour but the glow just looks massively shiny on me… miracle blur is not as good as benefit’s the pore professional pore primer & way too expensive… I also agree about the sheer shimmers but having bought lip to cheek Freddy, lady J, veebee & sherin all of which I use on the eyes too I crave Chacha & Pia… really I haven’t found cream eye shades I like as much as Trinny London… cheers all 🥰

BFF cream the best I’ve found as is BFF eye. Genius and will only get better over time. It’s a very new makeup brand and you think of how many years it’s taken to refine the other makeup houses then Trinny is way ahead already. This brand will only improve and improve and I look forward to being on the journey with her.
I use miracle blur and enjoy using it. The trick for me has been to use a tiny amount, rub it between my fingers to heat it a little bit and then pad it on
I use at the end after powder is applied, works much better fills in pores x

Great honest review. Love BFF and have tried De Stress but found it a little slippery without much cover. Not that struck on the lip to check, great colours but I find it quite drying in the lips but agree it stays put on the cheeks. Love the little pots and the way they stack together.
My only complaint about the BFF products is the fragrance. I don’t really enjoy the scent and it irritates my eyes, so I don’t like wearing the makeup for too many hours. Love the look of the products, just wish they were unscented.
Oh no! I have fortuna in the eyetallics range too, i just went to check mine… completely dried out :O I used it the first day I got it and it was beautiful!! Creamy, pigmented and super glittery. Looks like this particular product doesn’t stay moist once opened. Such a shame :(
I absolutely agree w EVERYTHING you said! The bests are also my faves, & the problems you've had (esp eyetallics & lip2cheek) were spot on!!!
I find if I use a regular eyeshadow brush on the eyetallics it goes on with a little more pigment. But I know that doesn't help w portability!!
Gemma, this was so helpful. I LOVE Trinny London. The bff cream is the bomb and I use the lip to cheek all the time. Re the contour, bronzer issue, I have used Chloe as my contour/bronzer to warm things up. I also love the color match feature. All the colors are perfect on my skin. BTW, I have been following you since you had less than 50k subscribers and remember when you felt uncomfortable giving a negative review. You have really grown in that area. You are still so kind even when you don’t like something but you are much more comfortable giving a negative review. Well Done You!!
I jumped straight in when I saw this pop up. I love Trinny London BFF is my holy grail. Have you tried the new cleansers? I got the balm cleanser I love it be interested on your thoughts in the near future. I enjoy using the sheer shimmers but layer it under lip to cheek as I find it quite drying on the lips on its own the use it as a topper. Wiggs flush blush is next on my list ....phew that was an epic reply 😆

I love Trinny and love her products, but omg they’re so expensive!
Trinny is lovely + a powerhouse but doesn't live in a regular working class household, evident when you see her wardrobes. But a delight to watch❣️
Thanks for reviewing! 😍 As I watched your video it got me thinking….how about dipping a brush into the pots to apply & avoid mess, instead of applying with your finger(s)….? And smoothing things out with your finger(s) afterwards … ? 😉

I also love the BFF Rebalance also, my skin can handle both equally, but I get more compliments!! So there's that! I also LOVE the cleansing balm plus the muslin cloths are fantastic for makeup or cleansing cream removal. I just am so into Trinny London, and I enjoyed this video, thank you!
I purchased several different face products and even though they looked nice when I first applied them, after a few hours they disappeared on me. I also purchased several eye creams and just didn’t not like the colors I picked out. I also did not like the bronzer I purchased. I feel they are to expensive for what I purchased.
Exactly the same for me - they just disappear! So very strange.
Gaia is a better bronzer shade and more cool. I agree about Jensta, but Gaia is divine!
Enjoyed this video! I’ve been using some Trinny products for awhile now and have a love/hate relationship with them, particularly because of the tops coming unglued and ruining the stacking capability. I don’t carry them in my bag - they live on my vanity. Disappointed in the quality of packaging considering the stacks are their trademark.
Yep, same! My hubbie has glued a few of mine. He has never had to do this with other premium brands. X
I adore the Trinny London De-Stress. It is my go to make up. Looooove it.
I love almost all Trinny London especially the BFF range. My actual favourite eyeshadows are Wisdom and Faith. Two colours which seem boring but work beautifully on my eyes. I bought Minerva in eyetallics and I agree, it's an amazing colour but I find I end up with more sparkles rather than colour.
Edit Gaia is a nice colour bronzer for light skin.
I love Trinny and I like some of her Trinny London range. The first products I tried were BFF, Just A Touch, Miracle Blur and Lip Glow. I think it was a set. BFF is beautiful on the skin but would sometimes pill from whatever I was wearing underneath. My issue is the price for the size. It should be at least 60mls because if I was to use it as sunscreen, I would go through it too quickly. Converted to AUD, it’s pricey. Just a Touch I liked and is great for travel and touch ups, lip glow is nice and miracle blur I didn’t understand until recently. Just before Christmas I decided to get a Christmas set on sale. The pots halved with two products are a great way to try different things. It included BFF De-Stress which is very nice but I also got a sample of BFF Balance and I like way more than I thought I would. It has more coverage than the rest of the BFF range and wasn’t too matte. I really like eye2eye. I got wisdom and fortune, and I sample in a khaki green with gold shimmer- all beautiful with good staying power. Lip and cheek in Freddy and Bunny I prefer on the lips not the cheek. Freddy is difficult to blend on the cheek and Bunny is too shimmery. Miracle Blur I worked out needs to be a small amount warmed up between your fingers or on the back of your hand and is best under makeup as a primer over texture and lines. If the face products were bigger they would be a winner, but eye2eye is probably the best I’ve tried so far. Great concept and I’m glad it’s been successful for Trinny. She has worked so hard on it. 🥰
I have said this for so long. You are stunning with darker hair. Your skin and eyes come alive ! You could even go darker. I know blonde is fun but this is gorgeous. I treat all my mates to the BFF and they all love it. I just can’t handle the perfume but I know some people find it a ritual pleasure

I agree about the eyetalics - they are rather dry. But I’ve found a way to make them work. If I swirl my finger around the surface of the product, it makes all the particles smoothly adhere to my finger and then I can’t get the product to apply to my eye. Instead, I have been pressing my finger gently into the product so that it makes a dent in the surface and then lifting my finger up, so that the product sticks to my finger in small chunks (rather than a smooth layer). Then I pat it onto my eyelid, rather than swiping. It also helps if the surface of the product is a bit roughed up, so that small chunks stick to your finger. It’s kind of like applying a pressed glitter
I absolutely love the BFF rebalance and find a little goes a long way and it lasts . I also love the cheekbones contour - most natural looking contour product I’ve ever tried. I’m not that keen on miracle blur as a lip line filler, but I noticed in the Trinny videos with Chloe that she uses it as a lip primer and I like that use much more. I quite like ( but no more than that ) the eye to eye shadows . They’re flattering colours but are expensive for what they are. They suit my mature eyelids very well though. As with any “menu” it’s rare to like everything.
Love everything I have tried so far especially the serums. That shade of blush you swatched looks fab.
That’s so weird!!!! I adore Minerva and I don’t have that problem at all, goes on just like Fortune/wisdom/moon etc etc Plus had since released and not dried out. Also love her rebalance, didn’t get on with BFF, loved the look but somehow disappeared after an hour. Rebalance I can wear all day plus adore the new palest shade in the concealer/foundation pot, previously bought but the palest wasn’t pale. The new extended range is great and it’s taken the place of my beloved Nars soft mat in chantily. So sorry Minerva didn’t work for you, maybe I got lucky but I have no probs with pay off. I use my finger with it fine. It’s the cool time version of the illamasqa pot I loved. Thanks for a super vid

I think you need to transfer the eye colour really quickly to the eyes. I find they have staying power because they 'set' quickly as happened on your fingertips. Just my thoughts 🤔 That said, I think the Trinny makeup is expensive and I have now moved to Beauty Pie. Love their eyeshadow sticks and a fraction of the cost x
Totally agree about the mascara, sent it back for a refund. Love the BFF, use it everyday. Love Starlight too, I use it under my browline. Finally...agree, lippies don't last at all which is a great shame. But generally, I'm a big fan.
Only thing stopping me from trying Trinny London is the price 💷 💰 💵

Thanks for this review, I was curious if your impressions were similar to mine and to see what else I could try from Trinny's range. I bought my first products right after she launched as I love her personality and I've applied my makeup with fingers for 30 years :) so pot system was perfect for me as someone always on the go. I agree that eye2eye shadows are the best on the market (for me, I'd say better than even Tom Ford), they never crease, colours are great and one pot lasts forever. I don't think these are overpriced as they're marketed for mature women and its fair to ask as much as Charlotte Tilbury or Hourglass, at least the eye2eyes and blushes are excellent. Cream blushes have rarely staying power, but Trinny's perform well. I got myself colourmatched in her London office and also bought BFF, and tried BFF eye and Just a Touch, the two latter I didn't find value for money- too little coverage and not great formulation. BFF had a great effect on my skin (I don't need a foundation), but it has fragrance and it burned my eyes. For 30 ml for this price, I don't want to deal with eye irritation. But I'll try both DeStress and ReBalance. I'd not bother with lip products from TL, these are too expensive for what they are. I would love to know what type of base you hade under those cream eye shadows. I've bought a few of them myself, but they do not stay put on the eylid even for an hour. It creases and crumbles into the crease of the eye. I have tried with concealer as a base, with a sticky eye primer as a base, without a base. There is no difference. These eye shadows just do not stick to my eyelids. And it's so disapointing and frustrating since I really wanted to love these products.
There is now a shade between Kate cheekbones which would work better for you and the use you describe. I like the idea of the flush blush consistency for both the bronzers and contour.
I’ve got quite a bit of Trinny London and I too have mixed feelings. Like you I really like the just a touch but don’t reach for it. I tend to keep it for touch ups on the go (the little mirror on the stack is my absolute favourite thing from TL). I have 3 eyeshadows and one of them has a totally different consistency to the others so it smudges 🤷♀️ but they are my go to for quick and easy. I haven’t fallen for rebalance but everytime I use it my skin does look amazing. I think I prefer it to the destress too for the shiny reasons you mentioned. One thing I absolutely hated that you love is the eye concealer. I got a sample and I can’t get past the smell of it. It’s really awful to me.
I don’t rate the blush and I’m not quite sure why I bought Face Finish or what it does for me 😂. I adored the scent of bff but find Erborian cc does a better job on my skin
Ever since Covid…lockdown…masks…I’ve been neglecting all my other foundations in favour of my bff de-stress. I can’t believe how fast TrinnyLondon parcels ship to Australia, Thank you for making this video Gemma… I was very curious about the other products and wondering what to splurge on.

I loved trinny but slightly fallen out of love with the eye etalics as bought them all used once and dried up didn't look anything on the eye either x
I love the Flush Blush and under eye concealer but the skin tints and just a touch are not for me. I think you need to have normal to dry skin for these to work. On combination skin they go incredibly shiny within an hour. And boy, is TL expensive! If I'm going for upmarket make-up, I'll stick to Charlotte Tilbury.
I was using rms (Rosemary Swift) way before TL came out and still use it. The eye polishes can crease and need reapplication but they look fantastic and don’t dry out, ever. Love them. I never bothered with TL because I love rms. Now I use Jones Beauty as well.

Thank you for your presentation. I have been thinking seriously about this brand for a long time, should I or shouldn’t l. Love the idea, the fact that every thing is stacked and easy to hand. I much prefer to view the products in person before I buy, as I have no confidence in matching my skin tone with foundation on line and I like to get a feel of the products too. This brand will have to wait for a trip up to London before I finally make up my mind.

Also agree I have never been without BFF since it launched. A definite ride or die.
What I find frustrating is that Trinny tries to be so accessible with her clothing hauls - mostly Zara because it’s affordable and everywhere - but her make up is very expensive and not for the type of regular customer who buys Zara, more like Prada.

Were your Eyetallics from the first batch? They’ve changed the formula when they released the new ones in Dec 2021. They’re just creamier and easier to transfer.

Thanks for this video. I love the Trinny eyeshadows both for the colours and the ease of use. I also use some of the lip to cheek which I am super happy with. I was going to buy a couple of the metallics eye shades but your review changed my mind. Another fave of mine is the BFF skin perfector which I like to use on its own as I don't like much coverage. I will be trying some of the other products based on your reviews. Very useful.
I find all the BFF face products pill whenever I use Vitamin C which is frustrating considering these products are rather pricey. I agree - the face products are very shiny and I need to powder after I apply then again throughout the day. Having said that, I do love using the BFF de-stress (without Vit C).
My eye metallics did exactly the same as you described. Thought it was just me. Good tip below re blending with Jojoba oil
Love Trinny and the concept of Trinny London. I have a lot of her makeup products but most have been disappointing, the only products I will purchase again are BFF eye and BFF skin perfector
Agree on the eyetallics, not a product I get on with either, plus they don't last. Don't really rate Miracle Blur either, prefer Clarins instant smooth.
I do like all the other products I've purchased though. I use BFF regularly, lip2cheek (cheek only as too dry for lips for me), eye2eye, justatouch & lipglow. I also have BFF destress for those days when I want some more coverage. All great products.
I bought Trinny london makeup they are easy to use gorgeous colours and you can mix the colours with awesome results. Love BBF all of them are great. I recommend Trinny L. For all tipes of skin. Fabulous.

I’ve never tried anything from Trinny London….any suggestions on a starter set?
I’ve bought Minerva Eyetallics. It doesn’t transfer well, it is too dry, it falls of my lid. I add coconutoil that I’ve stored in an empty T-pot that Inordered just for that purpose. I put the coconutoil on top of the jar and that works. Crazy, but this way I can profit from my jar with the gorgeous colour. I use the Trinny magnetic pencil in three sizes, with biggest brush. That brush is a disaster, it doesn’t fit in the cap.
Thank you for this video. It is hard to find realistic reviews of this range. It is like there has been a pact either not to mention it at all, or to post sycophantic reviews. I had to resort to mumsnet to try and get real reviews, which is really odd

I agree! Great breakdown. I went in big with these products when they first released. I still use some of the cream eyeshadows and the lip to cheeks and blushes. Brilliant formulas. I have not repurchased other things I tried initially. Value not there. Love all of your content, Gemma. Many thanks.

I really like the concept of this video and i love the way you talk about things and respect your opinion but I found this video a bit disjointed and didn't come away having learnt much. Really useful and interesting to hear your opinions. I’m using the BFF Destress but do feel I want a bit more coverage, so maybe I’ll try Rebalance next time. Also really want to try the BFF Cream. I have Wisdom, Justice and Virtue eyeshadows and the Freddie and Bunny duo which was a gift with my first order - and I love them all. I’ve never really worn much makeup so I’m experimenting and playing with different combos. I might try and get down to London for a consultation before I buy anything else so I can see the products for real and take advantage of their expert advice! I also absolutely love the stackable pots, haven’t had any problems with mine.
The only product I have is the BBF Cream.
Whilst I don't find it to be the best tinted moisturiser for my colouring (it's not marketed as a tinted moisturiser), being able to reapply during the day, is fantastic! ....... And, to anyone watching - they think it's just a SPF cream 😂
This summer, I'm going to get one for darker skin, because, as my body tans I obviously want my face/neck to match it. Thing is, I don't know if doing this is actually "do-able" 🤷♀️.

Use the T kit on the metallic eyeshadows
I bought the green and silver last year and the blue this Christmas- all dries up only used once or twice- such a disappointment as I loved the metallic’s
I am always finding some of the lids are broken so the stacks are unusable!
Having said that I love most of the products!

Try patting the make up in place. I see you are trying to spread it. I Pat the eyeshadows and the eyetalics. The same with Miracle blur. Trinny demonstrates it and explains that you need to soften it between your fingers then Pat it into place in isolated areas with a rolling motion.

I like the colours of the lip to cheek . and eyeshadows, but they really dont last ( cant beleive people say it is long lasting )and it it very expensive for what it is . I wont repurchase

Try using truth as your contour/bronzer instead of jensta, it's a much better texture to work with. I'm the same skin tone as you and also don't get on with jensta, I use soala instead x

Not for me, I would rather the focus was on the cost and the actual product, the packaging ends up in the bin but the products don’t match the price I expected a lot more. I have only tried the BFF ( which pils) and an eyeshadow that wasn’t great.
What shade of bff skin perfector cream do you use, your skin is similiar shade to mine.
Minerva, Fortuna, Fortitude. I’m gonna say what’s the worst, naming products that indicate no color. Now shopping online it’s a misery. I hate it so much I often won’t order anything with a noun for a descriptor. And sunset? I’ve seen sunsets in many colors. Champagne is yellow in the glass. I hate this! If they can’t give me a color then I try never to buy it. What’s wrong with silver, white, gold, blue, green, pink coral, purple, aqua, yellow, black, brown and it’s shade?

Can you compare BFF rebalance serum to any other tinted moisturizer/serum or foundation? It is hard to find reviews and I would love to know if there is something similar. I loved Nyx tinted skin veil and I'm trying to find something similar since they discontinued it, but maybe with little more coverage, yet still skinlike. Everything is either too glowy and not blurring or way too heavy and dry.
I prefer rebalance over destress. I don’t tend to use the concealer at all.

I found that a lot of the lids broke so I couldn’t stack them, which defeated the purpose. I now only use the BFF.
Agreed - Eyetallics is not a good product! They also dry up and then becomes impossible to use! I love Trinny London but I do not recommend the Eyetallics.
