If I was going to go to Commander's Palace and order a dessert it wouldn't be cheesecake. Go for the bread pudding souffle or the strawberry shortcake IMO. You can get cheesecake just about anywhere.

I still dream about the Turtle Bolognese at La Petite Grocery, along with their blue crab beignets! Herbsaint & Commander's Palace are two more of my favorites. I'm also very fond of GW Fin's, Galatoire's & Mr. B's (& I miss K-Paul's). I'll be back in April to try some new ones!

Fine spots all and beautifully shot. Please STOP with the robotic computerized narration that mispronounces names and dishes throughout the video.🙄

Sounds like a Donald Link promo video. 😅 That is a good list of restaurants. There are so many more to choose from and experience. Bon Appetite! ⚜️

You really need about an hour to get a lot more of the great eateries NOLA has to offer. Further, you have to roam outside of the city for great eats. The single best bite of food can be found at Drago's flagship in Metairie. Suffice it to say NOLA is arguably the best eating city in the country.

You would probably need a week, not an hour! And I agree there are some great meals to be had outside of NOLA proper.

Where did the weird pronunciation of pecan, boudin, andouille, gumbo du jour, lemongrass etc come from. They aren't even regional variations! The accent of the speaker was very standard American English otherwise. Was it computer generated?

France, Africa, Brazil and "the deep south" are the big influences on food in New Orleans? What about all of the Cajun, English, Germans, Irish, and Italians that actually built the city and who's food we enjoy every day. I can't think of one dish from Brazil that is eaten regularly by New Orleanians or from Africa for that matter and New Orleans is the deep south btw. Here we eat French, Creole, Italian, German, Irish and Cajun food more than any other. Plus, we have very good Vietnamese restaurants that are becoming more and more popular too because they use fresh seafood, and they create regional dishes that are inspired by our culture and likes. How could you have missed all of this?

There definitely African influence in the food. For example okra is African in origin. Also, slaves would cook the food

@@tbrown4080 How many people in New Orleans do you think owned slaves? Only 4% of whites owned slaves, but around 12% of freeman did so... Do you think slaves cooked for the majority of the people in the entire city out of the goodness of their hearts, or maybe their masters just lent them out for cooking meals? Why do people try to apply credit for the impossible to black people? Btw okra is in very few of the foods that make New Orleans food famous, and many New Orleanians honestly hate okra even in gumbo. What do I know though, I only have French ancestors in my family tree that were here in the 18th century before the creation of the United States of America?

    Ander wheel gumbo.🤣🤣🤣

I like ander wheel gumbo a lot, but you get a lot of dirt in your mouth from the wheel. Still, it's vegan and has a lot less fat than andouille gumbo.

"Peckins" ??? Someone who hadn't seen the pic would be clueless. Though a little informative & some decent shots, there were just too many mispronounced words in this clip from a city that deserves the utmost respect to its' culture & heritage. (I have family in NOLA & I'm offended for them) Galatoires Sunday Brunch is a personal favorite of mine. & there are a quite a few smaller spots that are fantastic!! New Orleans is definitely a top notch culinary destination 💜💚💛⚜️
