    Test Idea
I'm a woodworker and I believe that you probably have many woodworkers subscribing to your channel. Blades for planers and jointers are expensive to replace and they don't last very long. There are several different options all the way up to a helical insert type. Many people have the dewalt dw735 planer. It's considered a bit of an industry standard. Power consumption is also a big concern for using a planer and blades contribute quite a bit to load. One last item would be to see if there is a way to sharpen these blades with a commercially available tool. Lots of guys make home made fixtures and use sandpaper. I haven't seen anything commercial to do that task.

Marine engines tend to run cooler even at high load as the engine is constantly exchanging heat with the relatively cool river/sea water which will be more effective at removing heat than recirculating the same hot coolant in a loop through an air-cooled radiator.
...that might explain the lower flashpoint of the marine oil.

Was just about to say this. An unlimited supply of 40-80 degree water will keep an engine very cool even under full load conditions. It’s also why marinized car/truck engines often make more power in boats than in a car/truck. No heat issues.

no. the big tests that are important here for marine oil specifically was the anti corrosion/rust and the anti wear at rpm.
Think about this, boats deal with much more moisture than any car will just due to operational environment. The corrosion resistance is important.
Additionally, boats don't have multiple transmission gears to reduce engine rpm in use.. and so over their useful life see a lot more high rpm. while at a constant speed the marine oil 'only' performed 3% better, the ** about that is when you look at the regular use cases, the marine oil with less wear will make a much larger difference in the long run.

You can use higher levels of zinc as well as other antiwear additives in marine engines. No catalytic converters. Also evaporation at high temperatures is not as critical for marine engines since even running hard they are far cooler than automotive engines. Even when using a water to water heat exchanger they still cool the exhaust manifolds so the head and exhaust valves transfer more heat and stay cooler.
The boats I run nearshore or on lakes I have used automotive oil changed often. I don't run for hours non stop under those conditions. When running offshore boats I always use marine oils. Besides..warranty, warranty, warranty lol

Liked your comment enough that I thought I'd take the time to recommend Jeremy's newest show on Amazon Prime, Clarkson Farm. Really interesting take on farming by a newbie. After seeing what he spent on farm equipment, we looked up his net worth ($50M), and promptly stopped worrying about it. Also interesting that he had a perfect Work From Home job, and he admitted farming was a crap shoot as most don't have Amazon helping foot their bills. Hope it comes back for a Season 2. Also it was funny as his helper doesn't take any of Jeremy's crap and gives it right back to him :)

There is some truth to this, by the way. Ferrari's Formula 1 team receives a lot of money that they aren't allowed to directly spend on improving their car's performance due to recently implemented cost restrictions. Ferrari has actually been struggling to find other useful ways to spend their money.

With firewood season approaching, I would like to see a review on moisture meters. I recently purchased one but only having the one, I have no real comparison to know if it’s accurate. A review from PF would be great. I have always followed your results and have never been disappointed.

Great EP :) I would not mind seeing you do a oil mixing test, mixing the best synthetics to see if they dilute or improve some properties, mixing the best with the worst too, and then making a super mix of all the oils and sending it off to a lab to see what the report shows, Keep up the good work.

It's really amazing boat engines last like they do. I have a 350 that pushes a "dry weight" boat of 6600 pounds. Sustained RPM of 3200 to 4000 to stay on plane depending on load. Doesn't miss a beat. I was bummed you didn't use Mercury oil in your test but love the content.

Right on par Todd. You bring that extra bit of humanity back into my life with your videos. I thank you for your kind and attention to detail, your objectives and the effort you put in without support other than that of Patreons. You are indeed what we need right now. Regarding all your oil testing, of which ones would relate to diesel engines? This is a test if not already done I would be very interested in. My 30 years in the Australian Army, they only used one type of oil, something labelled OMD110. The omd being for oil mineral detergent, now I have my own diesel vehicle for towing purposes I only like to use the best wherever possible. We do have an Australian brand, Penrite, who make some interesting types that may also peak your interest 😉 worth a look on the ol interweb Lol.
Again, thank you so much for making so much difference to my life, I feel that in some ways your videos also help me with my ptsd. If I feel that I am in a slump, I do many things to try and lift my day, but your non political and no agenda type of format other than research and results always lift me a level or three. 😇😇😇

I would have rather seen a synthetic marine oil vs synthetic automotive oil. this test compared Honda petroleum based oil with full synthetic automotive... not a good comparison unless you are trying to sell Pennzoil to a bunch of duped boaters.
