@@Dreamlands15 as cool as the game works I can confirm as multiplayer person that they’re desperately needed to be balance changes. Gaussian rail guns, interceptors, and honor guards are over powered, wild strike fighters, all of the coalition cruisers, assault ships, are under powered. I love the game style and potential it has for tactical play but the only way to facilitate this is to implement big balancing changes. In my opinion all rail guns except for the coalition are way too strong. If you want to have a more in-depth conversation I’d be happy to reply
This content is amazing. Very informative, truly interesting... I have been a fan of the Homeworld series (particularly remastered collection) but each of these videos makes me wanna start DoK
Me five years ago, trying to play Gaalsien and completely missunderstanding their tactics: getting bumf*cked by a battlecruiser rush. You do NOT want to go toe to toe against battlecruisers with your honorguard cruisers! xD Man this game had so much potential. I wish the "RTS is dead" myth would finally die. Imagine how cool a second campaign would have been!
Super late to this game, just picked it up on sale, but thanks for these videos. This game just oozes style and should be a blast to play. The regenerating units sound interesting, especially given the speed for those skimmers. You'll force your opponent to dedicate resources to defending resource expansions, else wipe out those expansions.
So cool with robotic voices! And imo a mix between Nod (colour scheme), protoss (voice acting, micro management and hover ability) and zerg (regen ability, hit n run tactics and speed)
I stream occasionally, and play lots of team games with everyone. The community for this game is pretty tight and everyone is friends, so many of my subscribers play with me often :) Be sure to join the Homeworld Discord. The majority of the community is on there, so its the best place to meet everyone and arrange games. Here is the invitation link: discordapp.com/invite/WGmRe2F
Okay seriously, any time be else getting an old school C&C vibe from the factions? The gaalsien really remind me of Nod. Come to think of it, the coalition is a defensive faction who's primary color is gold.....
This was recommended to me and I miss this game so fucking much. This had so much potential as a competitive RTS. I always check the steam page, knowing that it's been dropped on support.
The video does seem very helpful I'm thinking about getting this game but I do wish you had the game sound effects turned down because its actually hard to hear what your saying through the in-game sounds
Interesting insight... I have only been playing DOK for a few months, and have been focusing on using non-line-of-sight artillery and air units of the Coalition. I have always felt that the more fragile and line-of-sight focused unit of Galseen a bit wasteful, but this did make me want to try its small railgun units.
Welcome to the desert :) Gaalsien are a bit more difficult to play for sure, but they are very cool. The Honorguard Cruiser is one of my favorite units in the game.
focus on turning down ingame voice or turning your voice up, it is imbalanced and difficult to focus on what you say, Great videos non the less, thanks.
I think I figured out how the hover technology works If anything we once had a craft that worked the same way. So in the real world we have our own hovercraft like lcac (landing craft air cushion)for example it has a skirt underneath that traps so the hovercraft just sits on this cushion of air. The first hovercraft prototypes had no cushion and 1 even crossed the north sea. The gaalsien may have just done an advanced way of just creating a cushion of air underneath. That the vehicles just sit on. Those balls on the sides I think do 2 things one assist in further lifting force and 2 manoeuvre the craft. They are basically just using the Magnus effect. By reducing the force on one side it tilts down that side allowing the vehicle to manoeuvre as regular control surfaces on aircraft (seen on gaalsien craft) will not always be effective as they could be stationary. Who knows I could be wrong on many levels
So what would be the counter to Honorguard Cruiser? On paper it seems too strong - supreme speed combined with long range, regenerative health and additional anti-air. I'm new to the game, haven't figure that out yet. PS: your channel is just gold, enjoining it very much. Your videos convinced me to buy this game and now I'm learning from them as well, so thanks for the content! I just wish the game would be more popular, It is really a masterpiece, and I didn't even know about it.
Hey thanks :) For HGC, focus fire with mass rails, just make sure you keep them spread out. Also, air units, artillery, and nukes. Some factions have other tools, like the Soban Battlecruiser, or Khaaneph missiles.
hey Dream, im extremely late to this party, ive never heard of this game until a week ago and im definetly wanting to buy it. but before i do how is the activity on it after 5 years? does it still have a lot of people playing it?
Steam Charts is the site when you need such info. It seems like the game has had steady pool of 50-100 players since shortly after launch with some minor peaks (probably during sales). Right now it's on 90% sale on Steam.
When I get the game I am going to try and get Rachel's hacking device I watched @Raptor play and he got the Honourguard and it seemed to help him quite a bit
I've only played the campaign but the coalition suck compared to these guys. Better Rail Guns, Honor Guard is way better than a siege Cruiser, every ship heals itself and faster Carrier.
I will never get over how good this game looks. Hands down my favorite modern RTS.
Agreed.

getting mad Brotherhood of Nod vibes from these guys
Justin Chan In my opinion Gaalsien are cooler, but yeah.
i mean Deserts of Kharak is wayyy cooler than C&C but the inspiration is strong and i dig it
Justin Chan yeah most definitely
The voice for the announcer alone is seriously similar to CABAL
@@Dreamlands15 honestly, (a year late but eh), all DoK was missing to be a better C&C game than 4, was just Tiberium.
could you pitch down the ingame voices a little? they are nearly as loud as your voice. great video, keep it going!
Yeah this is one of my earlier videos. The sound is better in more recent ones. Thanks for watching :)

definitely the most stylish faction. great presentation
This just convinced me to buy the game. I was seriously apprehensive about the game, but this was amazing.
Joshua Furman Hey thanks, and glad to have you on board :) This is my favorite RTS for sure. Hope to see you in game soon :)
Do you a stream to play with your subscribers?

The elements are there, although vastly superior to old CnC, IMO
GDI
YESSIR
I'd say when you make some Homeworld 3 videos to turn down the in-game volume. Sometimes it's really difficult to hear you.
Tip: Lower the overall game volume when you do a voice over or a live recording. Hard to heard what your saying during combat.
Six years later, here i am. From Brazil, my cheers!! Great videos.
This was recommended to me and I miss this game so fucking much. This had so much potential as a competitive RTS. I always check the steam page, knowing that it's been dropped on support.
on the wikia it says the Gaalsien carrier has max speed of 135km/h and i want to see how fast it will look like
Lets all agree that the coolest looking ship byfar is the honorgaurd, Plus it’s name sounds lit xD
My first
Thought was meh looks easy to flank. Nope has point Defence
I'm loving these vids. Much-deserved kudos to you and Empty - this is an excellent crash-course.
(This is the other cow, btw. xD )
commentating need to turn down ai volume when recording

Thank you very much. terrific work.
Avi Mistriel My pleasure, thanks for watching.
I love these videos. I just have to correct you. Contrary to what one might expect Assault Ships are slower than AAVs :-)
Michel Thater Yeah I just realized that recently in a game lol. A bit nonsense if you ask me, because AAV's also have better range.
You are right!
Really nice videos. Gives me the vibe of SC2 function overviews pre-release :)
Fantastic video man. I jot got the game and I'm loving it. Your videos have been really useful with expanding my knowledge of the game.
Thank you so much :)
Such a well produced video
Thank you :)
insert Trevor Morris' Act on Instinct.

Spoken like a true Canadian :)
Guilty as charged XD

I don’t think you’re far off as in game they move the ball things around
GG dude Waiting your stream on HW3
I'm waiting for it too :D
Thanks again for the good overview.

@@Dreamlands15 Thanks for reply. Yeah, nuke seems to be the answer to everything :)
Man if only the dune game was likened to this.
I was good at the campaign but I just can't seem to play the multiplayer
Anyone else's loading screen last the entire length of this video :-/? Think I got a crap coppy
2 heretics disliked the video
They will receive their due punishment
C&C killer

Kane ist not amused about this Faction.
When I get the game I am going to try and get Rachel's hacking device I watched @Raptor play and he got the Honourguard and it seemed to help him quite a bit
Yeah you can only do that in the campaign.
Dreamlands really that would be so overpowered in multiplayer just annoying the enemy player
I mean a lot of hype for BC but they berely do shit and die almost as fast as AAV
I've only played the campaign but the coalition suck compared to these guys. Better Rail Guns, Honor Guard is way better than a siege Cruiser, every ship heals itself and faster Carrier.
Nah. The galsien are brittle as glass.
