After seeing announcement of HM3 I decided to buy all these Remastered collections of 1 & 2 + Deserts of Kharak and I tell you this.....Desert game is 100% Super HIT. Lovig it...loving the art...concept ohhhh.
@@snarkylive Its not technically crowdfunded. GBX is publishing HW3, as they did DoK, and its fully funded. The Fig campaign is for fans to preorder, basically, and add extra development funds. Consider it like icing on the cake.
Nikolay Andreev Hey thanks man! I definitely put some planning into it and it worked out well. I was still a bit stiff with my commentary cuz these were my first videos, but oh well.
TY so much for making these videos. I really needed to know what each faction's units do and how they play out. Now i can watch some pvp games and understand what the hell i am looking at. Also you have a very nice voice, i really think you could be a voice actor for military type video games. It was like listening to an army commander explaining battle strategy :). Good job!
I had the collection edition and NEVER PLAYED THIS. it’s perfect! Without the 3D battle space this game feels like what Command and conquer generals should’ve been
Nice serie, really helpfull for new players, specially on 3 other factions than coalition cause there is nothing in the game to help us to understand. Also, it's your multiplayer casting serie that made me buy the game. You make it very enjoyable to watch, even when i didn't knew the game mechanics and even more since i understand it more. Thanks a lot, keep it up :)
I just felt in love with this game! It is fast paced, full of action, presents a great science fiction universe, awesome graphics and sound effects (very immersive soundtrack as well). Also like the veterancy for those units that endure multiple battles. Anyway, I just watched all your four videos about the game's factions (great job, by the way!), and the Gaalsien and the Khaaneph caught my attention. I think when I finally purchase this game I will be a desert raider: a Khaaneph ruthless assailant. So, I would like to ask if you plan to publish new videos about each faction again, but with a more detailled aproach. P. S.: Is there any way to repair a Khaaneph Baserunner? I believe those of Gaalsien, even without being able of regenerating their health automaticaly, can replenish their health with that ability they have. I was wondering if you can somehow repair a Khaaneph Baserunner (since you sent one several times to the frontlines) in order to make them endure the battles more.
Yeah me too this game looks really good and il probably be buying it soon, although i think il be more of a coalition player since i prefer to be defensive. And the soban oooh yeah thats gonna be fun.
Awesome to hear! This game really is one of the best RTS in recent times. To answer your question, yes, I am planning on doing some more advanced faction guides and build order tutorials. Those will be coming soon. Be sure to let me know when you get the game, and we can play :) Regarding the Khaaneph Baserunner, there is no way to heal it. The Gaalsien one can only be healed by another Baerunner as well.
Dreamlands Oh, great! I saw you were playing your matches on Steam, and I am a Steam player as well. I also have other RTS games there, and perhaps we could try those too, in case you find any of them interesting and funny to play. RTS is my favorite game genre, even though I am still a "run of the mill" player. Anyway, if you want, I can add you on Steam so that we can play Deserts of Kharak together after I buy this gem of a game! Just noticed your avatar shows a Gaalsien... I still need to pick a favorite between Gaalsien and Khaaneph. If I go Gaalsien, I bet we will be good friends (for I think Gaalsien is your favorite faction)... If I go Khaaneph... Well, I guess Khaaneph have no friends, even among themselves. 😅😅 I will be waiting the day when we finally gather your forces on the sands of Kharak!
I love the khaaneph economic opener with assault ships, afterburner interceptor, siege cruiser build. It is quite useful in 1v1 and can very easily punish a carrier that’s out of position using your own super carrier and barrages from siege cruisers and tank from assault ships and surgical strikes from the interceptors to melt a out of position carrier or army. Although in the early game building 3 skimmers are essential for scouting because any rushes that come before you get your assault ships can be fatal without proper micro for your resource collectors, production cruisers and carrier
I kinda wish they would come out with more for this game the two new factions were cool and all but I was expecting them to expand on them as well with some side missions or something.
The sad reality is, that old school RTS is a niche genre at best and many players tend to be on the older side and aren't particularly fond of modern monetization tactics. So there's not exactly a fortune to be made with them. Nonetheless, there's standout titles from time to time and I tell everyone about this gem, when the opportunity arises. But I guess, when HW3 finally releases it'll still remain a fairly niche title as well. BBI is also focusing on Hardspace Shipbreakers on the side (not a bad choice IMHO), so their resources are divided. Still, real shame we never saw and more DLC for this, maybe a parallel story to the main expedition, or a prequel to this.
The Kaaneph are Kharak's version of the boogeymen riding in just ahead of the Sandstorms they'll go after Galsien or Coalition unlike a Kith the Kaaneph have no real structure which is why no one is really sure if they exist or not.
Would the term "Khaaneph" be their way of saying "Canaanite"? I mean, it took me a while to figure out Kharak was Kerak or Clee-san and Ecclesian (I was a kid back when the original Homeworld launched, see).
It's weird but that is actually a Coalition unit. Gaalsien don't get assault cruisers, they have siege, production, and honor guard cruisers. The Coalition Assault Cruiser is likely built from reverse engineered Gaalsien technology, which is where the confusion comes from Trust me you're not the only one who has asked this
@@sovereign7499 yeah that question actually came up for me when I got to that point in the campaign and I just thought "oh we're using reverse engineered Gaalsien tech"
This game deserved waaaaayyy more attention that it has now
Agreed

Yeh it really does
Your explanations of each faction are terrific. Thanks for making these.
Thanks! :D
Very well made series. If developer is not paying you: he should. There is nothing on their website about other factions.
Thanks again. I just do it because I love the game.
I just can't praise you enough for making these. Way you makes these is brilliant, so yeah can't wait for more its starting to get addicting...
Thanks! :D
The official lore is that the Khaaneph are the boogeymen that Gaalsien tell their kids stories about...
Great documentary. I love how you setup everything so you can demo exactly what you wanted.
Nikolay Andreev Hey thanks man! I definitely put some planning into it and it worked out well. I was still a bit stiff with my commentary cuz these were my first videos, but oh well.
Ze missiles, they need finesse when targeting.
Also, “FIRE, ZE MISSILES, ALL OF THEM”. Vast swathes of land explode.
Factions as DLC still irritates me. The game needed more love and content. Not more gouging of the people who put down money.
You have to keep it going with your channel especially with homeworld content, multiplayer and builds explanations. It will be really really cool
Oh I definitely will. It is a Homeworld channel after all :)

Great video! Very useful! I'm glad that this kind of videos exist. DoK is such a nice game, but very obscure compared with starcraft.
This game is so beautiful. Its ridiculous.
I'm surprised that they pulled it off with the Unity engine... an engine that has a reputation for not being the most gorgeous looking. -w-;
This is great work! Thanks
Lorenzo Margiotta Hey thanks!

Nice explaining and gaming.

Reverk Gelvan You and me both. The campaign was so damn good in this game I would love more of it, but focused on the new factions.

Khaaneph imo are more of a railgun race than others, they have the best range.
This is a great game
I would get the DLC if they had their own campaigns.
When I die, I shall be rewarded in... wait, what is the benefit for dying for science again?
my favorite faction
Will you continue to make more build order guide and multiplayer match?
Do the Khaaneph get Honor Guards?
Dynestis yes they do
Wish I could find the track on the OST that's playing during combat here
Man I wish they did these for the other Homeworld games, imagine something like that for Homeworld 2
Is it just me or did the coalition player have gaalsien assault cruisers?

The Syrian rebel faction, all with bomb drones, makeshift artillery and copious use of S-5 rocket pods.
