Yesterday I drove a 550 mile round trip with maybe 50/50% motorway/A road. I “spotted” at least 15 illegal phone users at speeds way above those as seen by Mickey near Regents Park. Downright dangerous and deadly.
It’s gotten so prevalent nowadays with so little active policing - so please, please keep it up Mickey!

mmm. my new car has a 360 degree dashcam in where the record button records 30s either side of the button press operation. Curious how well it will pick up drivers on phones -if it does then whoever is in the passenger seat has a new hobby for motorway journeys: recording drivers on the phone....

Its the fact they think everyone does it and they will never get caught. If anything is needed it's better education and better ways of catching people. It's not about the law. Nobody wants a 300 quid fine, and nobody thinks phone use is worth that.

The police do have a team on bikes looking for phone users / dangerous drivers etc. It's not a massive team. But they exist. It feels like the team processing the offences isn't big enough and therefore any additional personpower would be best placed there rather than seeking out more offences.

Hard enough for the Plod to find people within their ranks fit enough to walk 10 metres without fainting... Much less cycling.
When you do see them, they're usually harassing a homeless person or a family picnicking. Both of which I've seen them doing on several occasions. Easy targets that won't put up a fuss I guess.

It's an exponential danger. Potential for driver 4 (behind the white van) to beep when both fail to move - we've seen this many times in just your videos. This causes driver 2 to suddenly fill the gap after glancing up, driver 1 in the van does the same and rear ends 2. Mind you, that would be poetic justice but it's the other road users that have to worry. I'm glad you caught them all.
