Minor correction: the standard Spoiler electronics use either the AXY or MXY single coil hum-cancelling pickups. Wide aperture, low impedance. The preamp is a low pass filter. As you rotate the tone control pot, you are sweeping through anywhere from, iirc, 160hz-6.1khz. The low pass filter lets all frequency information below a set point pass through. Any frequencies above that point are rolled off in dB. So if you rotate the pot roughly halfway back, you'd only be letting everything at and below around 3khz pass through. The Q switch lets you boost the dB of your selected frequency to a predetermined level. I think the Alembics can go up to +15dB. Audibly it effectively gives a more pronounced attack upon the initial hit of the note.
Out of all the basses I’ve ever checked out, the Spoiler is THE ONE!! Simple layout... but with a BEASTLY sound!! ⚡️💪🏻 IMHO, I honestly think this bass would be perfect to start with...and keep going on! 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻 The high price would definitely be worth every dollar if I can get my hands on the one bass I’ve always wanted. I’m absolutely glad I found out about this bass because of one of my favourite metal players (the late great Cliff Burton).
