He practiced a fuck ton to get this good too. If we practice difficult songs and keep practicing every day not only can we be as good, but we can be better. Every musician wants other musicians to grow because of them. Cliff would probably want other musicians to grow from him and what he did right, I'm sure he's happy how heavily he influenced the bass scene before and while he was around and after.
It’s like “Easy Normal Hard Expert” are one sign on a wall, then you walk 20 feet down the corridor and just see one that says “Hi Cliff, how’s it goin”
@@cliffisfuckingawesome3508 it's because he's using very light gauged strings that are easy to bend, I've already said the the moment I get a 24 fret bass I'm putting some rotosound swing bass 66s on there.
My mind just bends by the fact that cliff has such a unique approach to music .... His every riff just penetrates through my heart like a gun shot he was such a talented guy and i could feel his music through you ... A big thanks man you rock
Same man I just started getting HEAVILY into bass and I just like feel a connection with him, a dude that fucking good at bass is an honor to even listen to on TH-cam
Not a Homosexual it's pretty hard but the hardest lick for me is the lick after the first bend. 16th notes at 130bpm is hard and you are skipping strings there
For the first part it’s just learning the pattern. Once you have that down you can do it over and over again without fail. The rest of it is madness. Love it. Thank you so much for making this tab.
Your channel is the ultimate tribute to Cliff, every time I wish for a tab on something he wrote you are just there right on it. You do the dirty work of making tabs that no one else wants to do because it's so hard. Thank you so much!
Thank you Andy! I try to make everything that I looked for years ago, but never found. I don't get why there's so little people who do the job. Now it's my mission
What I think was so unique about Cliff as a bassist and why he got compared to lead guitar is how much he played way up on the fretboard. Most bassists very rarely go there, that's guitar solo territory, but Cliff tore it up past the 12th fret all the time
I too am a huge Cliff Burton fan and I just have to say I love your videos so much. I have learned quite a few techniques and complete songs from your vids. Keep em coming! 😈 Big fan all the way from Texas - USA
I don't remember who said it, but I once heard a wise man say: "Don't think of it as thunder, think of it as Cliff playing his bass in the heavens" *THESE ARE WORDS I LIVE BY!*
Some of the bass fills in the verses when he played this song live were pretty awesome as well. (You can hear them best in the Cape Girardeau and El Paso recordings from 1986.)
Mr Cliff Burton! Rest in peace, I miss you You are the best bass master that i ever seen. You makes me start to play bass (I was guitarrist already). We love you, Cliff!
Nice job!!! When I was 14-15 I studied this solo for hours and hours and hours and hours!!! And I didn't even know what tabs were!! It is nice to know someone with such a passion for Cliff! He was my main reason to EVER pick up a guitar. I didn't even know for a while that he played BASS! Good job
How does cliff (and other bassists/guitarists in general) do that fast alternation like 0:48 to 0:54 without the D string turning into a pulloff and turning the D string 19 fret into 19p(0)? It's irritating for me to do these and Hearing a constant open string being played accidentally. What's that technique called anyway, too?
I know this comment is two years old at this point, but to add onto what the other guy talked about - use light strings!! Rotosound 35-90 is the set Cliff used! I believe he may have even had his E string be .85 but don't quote me on that
No that's obviously intentional, if it was a mistake he'd have fallen out of time or stopped but he kept going. It was just an upbeat crash to punctuate Cliff's bass shred
Hey, could you do tabs of "my friend of misery" performed by Jason in Mexico city in 1993? I know you have a lot of things to do, but it would be great.
If Cliff was still alive, he is probably notorious not just for his bass skills, but also his crazy headbanging skills. If he didn't die from the bus crash i'm sure he would get a huge case of whiplash
i know this video is kinda old, but i have a little question: from 0:04 to 0:14 does he pluck he pluck the D string with the same finger he just plucked the G string and alternate from index-middle o individually pluck the strings? from what i see it's the first way but i still have some doubts..
If anyone is having problem with rundown in begining, pluck the G string and then your finger should fall to next string naturally and then pluck with other finger second time. you probably didnt catch that..
may god protect my bass teacher
Especially, if your bass teacher is u
Тимур Кучеренко for real
Andriy has helped my playing SO much, eternally grateful. Stay well! 🤘😁

We’re all sitting here thinking we can do this. With a lot of practice but cliff could just do this on the spot. Truly an amazing musician
You forget he also practiced to get this good... 6 or more hours a day...
He practiced a fuck ton to get this good too. If we practice difficult songs and keep practicing every day not only can we be as good, but we can be better. Is it a reference to the movie Whiplash? Where Fletcher was shouting it to Andrew (the drummer)?

90-95% accuracy, I think) Thanks!
I used to be able to play like that during my hay day.
Dude. YES.
This video IS Cliff to me. When I randomly think of him I watch it.

-Yeah
-Alright, hold my beer

-No, I'm going to the toilet
Man, the growl of that Bass gives me the shivers, how much power and fury on his playing, is excellent!
After watching this, there is no compliment or adjective that I can say to do Cliff justice. One of THE BEST bass players EVER on this planet.
I’ve been playing bass for nearly a year now and just learnt this cliff is so amazing being able to do this on the spot
That hammer on pull off on 16/19 I've always had trouble replicating the sound and technique (rh and lh)
He did it very fast, faster than we all can do))
0:47 That's gotta be hard!
Actually, that's not the hardest lick here)
Andriy Vasylenko The hardest lick here are the hammer-ons on the 10-11-12 frets before the first seventeenth fret bend.
That's what she said
Not a Homosexual it's pretty hard but the hardest lick for me is the lick after the first bend. 16th notes at 130bpm is hard and you are skipping strings there
I couldn’t do any of it besides the main riff 😎

0:55 how on Earth can anybody do a full-step bending on 2 strings at the same time?
that's Cliff for ya
According to sources cliff used lighter string gauge 35-90
Cliff could distort the space time continuum with his bass solos
I genuinely love you
