    Ok, top tips in the comments:
    Motor has cold idle built in the computer, will lower idle after temps are ok.
    Change oil and filter few more times because of the water that was in the engine. Coolant check also.
    It's not running on all cylinders > check spark, timing, firing order and compression.
    Brake lines in front should be hard line as far as they can go, then add last bit soft tube. And the brake lines should be lower than the reservoir to let the air bleed out naturally.
    The gas tank needs an air hole in the filler cap.
    That is about it, great build. Keep it going! Happy holidays!

  • @MotoChurro
    @MotoChurro 4 ปีที่แล้ว +61

    The computer needs to relearn, that usually takes 15 minutes of idling. Don't touch the throttle, just let it run for 15 minutes and it should be good to go. Looks and sounds great, good job!!!

    • @sleestack6455
      @sleestack6455 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It has a cold loop to it for warm up that’s why the idle wasn’t changing. It needs to reach a set temperature to go out of cold loop and to normal operation.

    Chris, I noticed when you hooked up the front brake lines, you made a high arc and came back down to the master cylinder. Any point in the system that is higher than the master cylinder will trap air and make it tuff to bleed the system. Just a thought.
    Great videos and machines, keep it up!!

    • @jeffh4505
      @jeffh4505 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was going to say the same thing. Those big loops in the brake lines have air in them and making the brakes feel spongy.

    • @TrevorDennis100
      @TrevorDennis100 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Google Residual Valves. I believe they are primarily for when the brake cylinder is higher than the master cylinder, but they might be relevant if a brake line is higher than the master cylinder. Or just reroute or shorten the brake lines.

    Water contamination in the crank case. Since the trans shares the engine oil, it's contaminated the clutches too. That engine has either a cracked or has a head gasket leaking between water and oil drain (unless this is the one you put a head on). They can leak and not burn coolant, but double check for bubbles in or oil film in the radiator (chunky milkshake under the cap) or missing coolant. Thanks for making awesome builds.

  • @jerrellkull5347
    @jerrellkull5347 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    The brake problem on the front is probably those hoses. You always want the hoses as short as possible, with steel or stainless steel tube in between the master cyl. and as close to the calipers as you can get them, and still have wheel travel and steering clearance. Awesome build!

  • @vmaxmercer

    That white stuff in the engine is the water that was in the oil galleries of the engine. That water is also the most likely reason your clutch friction and steels are like they are. I would flush that engine a few times to get all the water out of every nook and cranny before you run it.

    • @calholli
      @calholli 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      you can't really "flush" it without running it---
      I do agree though, after your first good run/ test with it, I would change it fairly quickly. No more than an hour of run time.

    • @vmaxmercer
      @vmaxmercer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@calholli sorry, should have been more specific, by run it I meant get out and drive/rip it. You need to start it and run it for a short period, change the oil and inspect the oil that you drain out. If it still has that milky appearance, start let it run for a bit again and change it out again. Most likely you will only have to do that once maybe twice but you don't want any water in the engine...for obvious reasons...lol

  • @bigjim8088
    @bigjim8088 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The "white oil" is water mixed with the oil probably with the previous owner. Who knows how it got there but you have already replaced the gaskets anyway so it should be fine. Whenever you first crank it after getting it all built you should let it run for 10-15 minutes so the computer can set and to let all the oils burn off from building and handling everything. You have done awesome work. Now if you get some clutches in it it'll be great seeing you driving it around.

  • @fmscooter768
    @fmscooter768 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    i had some problem with water in oil too, because some small sealing rings where missing. i bought some very cheap oil and changed the oil 3 or 4 times, between i cleaned the engine as best that i could. it was a mess i pushed air in the channels that i could not reach it took hours to clean. than i let it run for like 10-15 minutes, changed oil 2 times, than driving like 30-50 km and as it was really nice and clean i put some high quality oil in. please take care, when you drive it with that much water inside, it will be killed faster than you like... best success Dude, really love your work!

    Great progress, very excited to see it drive. Electrical problems can be a nightmare to troubleshoot. It's not good for electric fuel pumps to run dry, it should be unplugged it if it doesn't have anything to pump.
    The fourth gear in that trans is likely 1:1 ratio, so each lower gear would be an underdrive, meaning that you'd only have the normal ratios from the bike trans with the doubler in fourth gear. But you can size your sprockets so that with the doubler in third there'd be a usable range out of the bike trans, then have super, mega, ultra overspeed with the doubler in fourth.

    Ah man this thing is gonna rip... Can't wait to see the next video! I think you did the right thing with the gearbox. You can take it offroad and down the road for a bit speed. Or medium to cruise around. Love your channel, don't ever stop and look at a negative comment. See ya next time.

    You need to bring that thing to Missouri when it’s ready. We will take it to the farm and jump some terraces and see how much air she can get.
    Also we’re trying to plan a trip to little Sahara in waynoka Oklahoma.

    Hey bud,make sure you Dont have blown head gaskets because thats what it looks like when you do.that white milkshake oil is a sign of that but it also can just be where water got down in the carbs or some where else if it was sitting outside for a long time. I think its just from sitting, so when you do get it back together change oil 3 to five times after putting a few miles,that should clear it up
    ALL IN ALL GREAT JOB !! That thing is going to be a beast.
    He said this thing is going to have 18 gears,thats crazy!! Can't wait to see it red line all 18 ....

    Congrats on the progress. I’m also building a cross kart but it’s only a 600 and it’s really just for street use. My engine was also water logged. Change the oil a few times will take car of the water (milky oil)

    Flush out the oil with kero a few times before running it again and before installing the new clutch discs. When it runs clear (the kero) then add the oil and try it again. God bless, stay well.
