All my kwack.experience is old, do these have a clutch lever lock out like the modern Suzuki's? Embarrassing trying to start one without pulling the clutch, if you don't know, you don't know. Lol
32:52 I know most probably don’t want to see the problem solving. However for some of us it’s exactly what we want to see. But I understand I’m in the minority. Happy holidays my friend.
This is an amazing video! I truly appreciate the effort you put into these longer formats that you create. I find them to be quite enjoyable and engaging.
If you haven't tried, you might remove the tip over sensor and knock it a few times. It's possible with the impact from the accident it jammed, they have been known to do that even in a simple fall over. I have a Kaw, zx-14r, obviously not a H2, but probably similar enough.
Greetings. If you changed the lock and key from another motorcycle, there is a high probability that it is an anti-theft system, the so-called immobilizer. Usually, if you change the key and lock with the antenna, you have to buy the same ECU.
The tip over sensor orientation is critical. sometime UP wording means lateral sometimes vertical. Had this problem with GSX1400. You need to see how it was originally mounted on bike. Also ECU and key probably matched in this modern a bike. Clutch cut out likely linked to ECU on some it acts like a choke changing map for start up.
Hey dude. I’m not 100% sure. But with certain vehicles (modern ones) new parts have to be coded to the ecu. That can also cause the engine not to start/be sluggish turning over
Double check the crankshaft position sesnor snd camshaft position sensor are not damaged and tht they have continuity for they both communicate with the ecu for controlling spark
I hope to see this engine on a body that is as light as possible, or the lightest of all your projects, so that I can benefit from it as much as possible and not put it in a heavy chassis. Once you see that structure of pipes you can determine what it is, even if it is in any condition or without covers
Excessive amounts of foam? Yes. But it at least came not anymore broken up. Whatever the new project is, its going to be fast. I wonder if the ECU doesn't have some damaged pins that while might be barely enough to make contact, it's not making good contact to allow it to turn over. Damaged pins can cause a lot of problems and being this was in a wreck, odds are not zero it's a bad pin or multiple bad pins or bad connections in the wiring harness.
1. Key probably needs programmed. If the imobilozer is there then you will have a red flashing light on the dash. #2 didn't see a throttle you need that or engine wont run on an electric throttle system. I think you have a few issues compounding. Best bet is to buy a harness adapter and scantool/programmer to reset and see what your actual problems are. And you can program new keys with some of them. You will probably need one later on anyway.
It’s definitely gonna be the immobilizer and the keys gotta be programmed to that computer that bike. It’s not gonna start until you can get that straightened away. Hope you and your family have a merry Christmas.
The brain has an embedded thing to stop people from re using the engine ever again. Sadly. I'm so glad you are so nice. We all cuss sometimes but you're welcome.😂 You will get her going eventually 😢
I know you are frustrated, but keep your chin up. There is NO SHAME in getting professional help on something like this. You should make a short asking for Kawasaki H2 professional level help. You will eventually find the right person. Keep in mind, when everything is correct it will start instantly. No need to crank it if it does not run. The only help can give you is that the sensors don't just need to be plugged in, they need to be in the correct orientation for the application and even simple switches may be normally open or closed. Just like your phone the level sensor must be leveled to function properly. You will get this, keep reading.
I didn’t hear you mention the clutch switch. That needs to be “activated” for the engine to start. The transmission might also be in gear because it didn’t likely crash in neutral.
Whoever packaged that up is a sociopath.... That packaging says "thank you for buying this... I'm also sending all of my pain and suffering as a freebie". 😂😂 Edit: After watching the video I feel like this is the type of project that whenever you finish, the owners manual and repair guide just lives in the back of your memory forever and the only place it shows up is in nightmares... Or if a friend is fixing one, but when you're trying to fix it you can't remember anything but if your buddies then you can tell them the whole book verbatim and even the page number. 😂
Hey mate. Very keen so see what this is going to be used in. Just curious why your last 2 videos don’t have as music in them?… trying something new?. Love the channel! Very inspiring!. I’ve purchased a lathe and I’m learning that skill myself now because I’ve always loved the things you make… especially that gearbox a long time ago. 😎🇦🇺
@@ratherBweldingChris not at all! In my opinion it’s your signature music… just like boosted boys and their trumpet song that’s always in their clips. I’m sure there are many many others that love the original music. I do like the music in this video as well. Either way.. you’ll never satisfy everyone. That foam was so so bad!. Haha I’d be so annoyed at the effort that you now have to go through to get rid of it. Also in my comment above…. I mentioned the gearbox… and then next minute you’re cutting the side of the gearbox up hahaha. What are the chances of that
Older Kawas needed a 100 ohm resistor in the ignition key loom as a rudimentary security system. I bet the modern ones have all sorts of chips in the key that are matched to the computer, so I hope you are using the oem key.
made me super nervous seeing that gas spray like that. Hope you have a fire extinguisher and a hose handy. Looking forward to seeing this engine running and finding out what it will go into.
Its not the issue but I would be tempted to buy a couole of packs of small Wago connectors and cut out the broken connector blocks as a temporary measure, also handy for messing about with most forms of wiring.
Your missing the immobilizer key signal receiver from around the ignition switch the 4th light going up from the bottom is a picture of a key it’s not illuminating it does have a immobilizer on a 2020 model
This is what I was thinking but not familiar with this beast of a bike. I'm wondering if Chris has tried firing it with the original key next to the setup?
Wow that would go back in a heart beat! What is this a joke! That foam will be all around every part of the engine! Well at least they put plastic rap around the engine!!
This is begging for.a Radical type race car chassis or slightly scaled down Ultima styled car, basically a track weapon. Huge fan of Kawasaki and appreciate you oushing he boat out on a top.of theline engine. Rather than spending money on ecu, key, etc, etc if ht becomes necessary oerhaps an aftermarket programmable ecu? Not cheap but I think Haltech would be partner sponsor an this would open up so many possibilities while you learned new skill sets.
Does the Ignition system have a programmable chip system? I don't know if the new key and switch has a lock out or anti-theft system. Also do the sensors need to be attached to the frame to be grounded? I feel your frustration.
That stock ECU is gonna drive you nuts, Im afraid. Even when you get it to start, the ungodly ammount of faulty electronic nannies going crazy in the background is gonna take away a lot from the experience. i dont know if somehow you could remap the ECU into "shut the f*** up mode" and disable what you dont need, but I highly doubt it to be possible. Maybe you could get in contact with someone who has used one of these engines with an aftermarket ECU and ask for tips. In my opinion, the best you could do is pair this engine to a stand alone Aftermarket ECU and get some tuner to dial in the needed parameters. I guess when you took this project you considered it was a new kind of challenge, so why not learn a couple more things like making your own wiring adapted to your planned chasis.
Merry Christmas to everyone!!
Merry Christmas, Man
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas brother.....ThanX for sharing.....🔥🔥🔥❤️👍🏽💯
Merry Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas bro!
The key needs to be coded to the ecu and you'll also need the handlebar switch gear to operate the dash. I'm a Kawasaki technician btw
Good looking out!
Can he get the key coded to the ecu at a Kawasaki dealership?
Only if the original is present. Otherwise a whole new security module and keys are needed. Source: also a kawi tech
LMAO give me the good ol days H2 that was a plain simple 2stroke without al of those shenanigans. Bloody nightmare

“A little less foam next time” 💀💀💀💀
32:52 I know most probably don’t want to see the problem solving. However for some of us it’s exactly what we want to see. But I understand I’m in the minority. Happy holidays my friend.
Two things, one is the clutch lever safety switch and the other is the side stand switch, both or either will stop the engine from running.
Think you are right and 2 paper clips would probably fix it to close the circuit on each.
My 2012 Kawasaki Concours has an immobilizer, hard to imagine a 2020 H2 would not.
Brill,at last another motorcycle engine project can't wait to see this one, F1 go cart!🤓 Happy Christmas Chris 🇬🇧
I think you are close... I'm hoping for a street legal Formula Chris 1 that he can legally use for quick parts runs.
There's a guy over on "boostedlifestyle" building one of those. I was hoping Chris would build one too.
Beast motor incoming. Idk if you get it running but i cant wait for the build your gonna come up with for it
Hey Chris, here's a tip, get a garden sprayer, put some acetone in it, and spray the foam. It will dissolve it.
This is an amazing video! I truly appreciate the effort you put into these longer formats that you create. I find them to be quite enjoyable and engaging.

Oh boy.....something nuts is coming soon! Nice score! That's a slick way to send something. Bagging it is even smarter!
That shipper had a customer complaint about subpar packing…once 😄

The amount of the foam got me :D
never heard someone complain something was packed too well before lmao
He is right though. That was over kill to the extreme.
Merry Christmas buddy.. Thanks for the great show and God bless

Wow something road worthy. Can't wait
Hi from France
Engine dont have ignition because of the immobilizer
Your key needs to be appaired with your ECU , it has a code in it
Was gonna say the same thing
If u watch the entire video only some ofnthem have immobilizer he has the ecu thatbdoes not require one 😊
@@revodrvr was just going to say the same thing
Some of those sensors need earth and not just hanging in the air!
Check the safety switche on the cluch
Double check the crankshaft position sesnor snd camshaft position sensor are not damaged and tht they have continuity for they both communicate with the ecu for controlling spark
Love seeing the process! This is going to be a great one is can tell.
This build is going to be cool. I’d love to see it in one of those mini trucks. The H2 is a beast of a motorcycle

Love it so much keep it up as always 💘
This is the cost of modern electronics. Just concentrate on diagnosing and think about how awesome it will be once its running! Screw the haters!
Merry Christmas brother!
Merry Christmas! I was laughing my but off at all the foam! You didn't mention a kill switch. Might be something to look at. Good luck though!
na using this in a build is gonna be CRAZY
i also love that your finally doing an onroad build, been waiting for that for a while i love that
Please for the love of god let’s see a street legal VF-1 colab with KJRaycing
Would work for me lol
Merry Christmas brother!! Cant wait to see what you do with her

wow i can just imagine the people that packed the engine laughing while they put more and more expanding foam in the crate.
4:30 Looks like an avalanche of snow fell through the roof. One of the wildest unboxing videos ever!
I have a 55 gallon drum and live in the woods.. all of that would get burned in my neck of the woods 😆
This built is going to be crazy❤
When the fuel shot out the engine i actually flinched lol

Why dont you build a mini forklift to haul your projects around?
I would love to watch him build something like that
Merry Christmas from the Netherlands
Now that is some quality packing protection
I also have the same engine, and I plan to rebuild the buggy to restore it. It is very expensive. Now I have changed it to a full replacement ECU
Make a Mini F1 car bro hammington
love seeing the prob solve! 😎
That guy who packaged that for you was laughing his ass off. Just think of whoever opened it.
Man, I had no clue of the complexity of modern motorcycles.
That’s the craziest packaging I’ve ever seen! 😮
Merry Christmas 🎄
*Yessss..... Nice Engine !!*
Archeologist Butters here to uncover this engine!
oh man you got your hands on an H2?!?! this is gonna be sick
I didn’t hear you mention the clutch switch. That needs to be “activated” for the engine to start. The transmission might also be in gear because it didn’t likely crash in neutral.
Atleast they wrapped it before foaming it lmao im dying watching this beginning

Keep it simple. I didn't see you mention it, but there should be an ignition kill switch next to the throttle on the bars.
I remember that peace of aluminum with two holes from the chaindrive transmission you were trying to make
My first guess for no spark is possibly coil. Anyway, merry Christmas.
i hope you managed to bend the ecu pins, so that they not bridging. it's fuel injected and dependant on the ecu for firing order.
I forgot to show it but I did straighten out those ecu pins

We need to get this guy a mad science coat. White Trent coat. But do you need to hold down the brakes or clutch lever ?

You can insulate your shop with that lol
not all the way through but did you straighten the pins on the ecu were it is cracked open? Looked like some were bent and shorted together.
Oh, yeah...
Merry Chritmas 🎄 Happy New Year 🎆🎇

I smell a night time bonfire 🤷😂
By the end of the video, I would have taken everything off the motor, Wiring harness, Sensors, hoses. This would drive me absolutely mad.
