- Actress Taapsee Pannu speaks honestly about her brave film choices and receiving flak for doing David Dhawan's Judwaa 2. 'The day my films like Mulk and Pink cross that golden 100 crore mark, I won't have to do films for the sake of getting the audience any more,' she explains. The actress also speaks honestly about being an outsider and being passed over for an industry kid for certain movie roles.

Rohith - Alia is good. She looks better than she is becasue of the kind of work she gets. Just because she can ugly cry doesn't make her fantastic. If someone like Priyanka, Sanya Malhotra, Taapsee, Bhumi, etc could get her share, they'd probably do a much much nuanced job..

I am impressed. This is what saying it as it without malice and politely. Sonam, kareena and many more girls have to learn from her. She is honest but also has a fair amount of tact and speaks sense. That's the balance one has to strike and she did with aplomb.
I found her very interesting, as she doesn't have any qualms not being a star , Diva, just an actor doing her job & there's life beyond working in films. Cheers to that.

Sonam Kapoor should take classes how to speak in interview from people like her or Kangna. Because any way she can't be an actor, atleast she would learn how to speak.
Sonam is a product of nepotism which is why she never put in the effort to learn. And thus you see the films she made (except Neerja) and yet she is a star. Clearly shows - stars need not be good actors but good actors can be stars too like Kangna.

Amazing interview. I am a fan of Taapsee now. Such a breath of fresh air. She spoke only the truth and there was no bitterness whatsoever. What an articulate and ambitious lady. Totally inspired. Great work there Anupama but you got it in your face lol. You talk about misogyny in comedies but you don't have to look far. Your husband produced this entire movie glorifying a flawed character and the sheer fact that he had 300+ girlfriends.

Thankfully she has a very practical take on nepotism.. the reality is that ppl make so much noise about nepotism but will also go and watch Dhadak just to see Sridevi's daughter. If it hadn't made money the trend wud change. So it's a vicious circle.

No it's actually a dharma film.....and it was sairat's remake....that has made people curious about dhadak.....if janhvi would have been replaced by any other good actor I am sure ....dhadak would have been a better film actingwise and eventually would have even made more money
Moreover these big production houses market their movies really well. Constant advertisements and promotions is a key to their success...
These starkids are regularly clicked and in news courtesy their pr team and doing a film with big production houses just amplifies their presence and hence you see audiences curious to see their movies just to gauge their performance.
My point is that people are extremely curious about star kids.. that's wat these producers exploit. They wouldn't cast them if it dint bring them money. Betting on an unknown good actor is comparatively a risk for them. So it's the fault of audience as much as the industry. We can't just keep blaming them for nepotism.
