I get where you're coming from but maybe we should cut her some slack too. She was new and got a good opportunity with a big brand that was doing well. She prob didn't have huge PR or proper guidance. She made a mistake in her career but maybe she's bound by contract and has to still defend her support of the brand. Meanwhile, srk and dp don't have to answer for their poor choices because their larger body of work can overshadow a small misstep. Maybe we should see the bigger picture about how things work (more success = getting away with more wrongdoings) rather than pointing fingers so easily.

So true. She really comes across as a sensible and a smart person (at least amongst her other contemporaries, and not to mention how effortlessly gorgeous she is), I really want to like her but then she chooses to endorse the brands that she chooses to endorse. @Shlok Chitnis They were never asked about it though, lol. I'm sure both SRK and DP have never had a chance to explain why the endorse fairness brands because their popularity surpasses that of Yami. You sound too immature for your own good; if it wouldn't be her, it would be someone else who endorses Fair & Lovely. Yami is an outsider and adveritising for this brand is an obvious way to stay relevant because she still hasn't had the breakthrough she deserves with her talent. It's a pathmaker for a good career. DP and SRK are already established and yet advertise fairness products and no one bothrs accusing them because they are too popular for that. You are the one being a hypocrite here.

I hope one day people realise How good Yami is in Vicky Donor. Ashima Roy deserved more than what she got from it . Taapsee was not good in Badla, Sand ki Aankh. She was really good in Game Over. Bhumi was really good in all films expect Baala . Alia is highly overrated .Vidya is pure love.

I am not a Vidya fan at all but I can't help but admit that each time she speaks I simply sit up n listen. She speaks so well.
This actresses' rountable is a much more honest, matured version of the rountable from 2018. Genuine, intelligent, matured ladies who are not trying to fight each other to get their say. And what a lot of girl love. Loved it ❣

This s the first time I am watching yami's interview..And i am blown away by her simple yet honest answers..She has a calm demeanor and she speaks from her heart..Nothing too forced or trying to act smart by being emotional..

This is one of the best round tables up till now. These actresses are talented (that’s why they are here), know about their craft, have opinions, are insightful, quite quirky and funny. And I can say for each of them that they’re their own person. Just the versatility of this table has my heart. Everyone’s so different and yet have a common thread ie love for cinema. Yami is so fresh with her thoughts and opinions. Even Alia for that matter. She sounds well read, now that she’s come of age. Tapsee and Vidya have always been really well spoken so there’s that and even Bhumi is fun. All in all satisfied with this chat! 🤍

I got all teared up when Yami was speaking. She is an amazing human being. But poor girl, she is always criticized for her fair and lovely ads. I would rank
1. Yami for her spontaneous and honest talks coupled with modesty and curiosity. First time I sat and noticed her seriously. That middle class and budgeting words were endearing.
2. Vidya for thoughtfully instinctive and genuiness. Her experience could be worth it in a text book. A super lady.
3. Tapsi as she speaks we feel her pain and predicaments she dealt with as an outsider but earned it every bit of success through hard work.
4. Bhoomi as always natural and charming and confident of her own ability despite not having a typical heroine look. A beautiful gift for bollywood.
I don't include Alia here, as she's odd one here because every time she's come up with the previlage of papa's quotes and mummy's advice with a little stress or struggle on the show makes her look like she's used to be conducted this kinda show since being a child.
Still I admire her talent, as without any real life/world experiences she proved her mettle and enthralled us in Highway, Udta Punbaj and gully boy. Alia's born to be an actor.
And kangana and Rani very much deserve this show.
Nobody is born to become anything. Yes alia has the privilege of support and quick acceptance from the industry and a faster exposure to more people that may had made her a bigger star but she's now one of the most brilliant actor cause she works possibly equally hard enough just like others. Privilege can't take away her talent. Athiya Shetty also had privilege, do you see her anywhere? It's a survival of the fittest industry. Only talent survives.
P. S.: Rani also comes from the same privilege you're talking about.

for someone who has less answers compared to the work others are doing- I think she spoke enough and I am rather happy with the way others listened to her and she got fair time to speak her mind.

Media makes money in selling feminism these days -- esp NDTV.
It's understandable given that it perhaps was one of the most polarising movies of the year. Personally, I'm tired of the discussion around it. Both sides have had all their points taken I feel and there's nothing new to add but I can STILL understand why it's there in these roundtables.
Vidya balan has been constantly in the roundtable..starting from ishqiya in 2010 this decade belongs to her..path breaker for the woman empowerment in films..and a very good speaker (personal opinion )

Imagine being a literal rocket scientist and seeing this is how you are portrayed in mainstream media - A woman just because of being a woman has to be linked with housework or cooking and using pooribhaji as science instead of homegrown liquid fueled PSLV .
And Priyanka Chopra doesn't get invited despite giving outstanding performances like Vidya. No roundtable for Barfi, Dil Dhadakne Do, Bajirao Mastani and The Sky is Pink. Shame.

32:26 highly HIGHLY disagree with what all of them have to say. in a society where dark skin is seen as something bad, and many people don't get roles because of their dark skin, when finally some roles are being written for people with dark skin, a fair skinned conventionally "beautiful" actor comes and becomes dark artificially to fit in that role? hire a REAL dark skinned girl, I'm sure there are so many dark skinned girls who are extremely talented and don't get roles because of beauty standards. it's like you're profiting off the idea of self love by showing it in your film but not supporting it in real life and contributing to the ridiculous beauty standards. same thing happened in super 30. just fucking hire a dark skinned actor who already has less opportunities due to their dark skin.

The only thing I found annoying was the interruptions done by most of them. Loved Yami and Vidya alot. But overall I really liked the whole interview filled with good talks, lots of laughter and what a girls roundtable shud be. Filled with opinions, honest confessions, care and loving gestures, sassiness. I loved it all.
