Abhishek never deserves the kind of hatred or disrespect he receives for being a star-son and being married to a Miss World. He speaks more sense than many top actors in the industry. :)

Whenever AB has worked with good directors he was brilliant. His script choice may be bad but he is not a bad actor. No bad actor can act the way he did it GURU. Push him and you will find an actor in him.

It's like Abhishek Bachchan just came back after an MBA focused on life. He's had some good time reflection and has emerged as such an amazing Abhishek 2.0. He's more interesting as a person now. I just feel for Abhishek. Its difficult to gauge success or failure when Amitabh Bacchan, Jaya Bhadhuri & Aishwarya Rai live with you under the same roof. Guru, Yuva, Bluffmaster, Dhoom,etc are good films. Though it was a flop, I liked 'Bas itna sa khwaab hai' as well. AB Sr. came back with a roar in the late 90's. I hope AB Jr. has begun his 2nd innings with Manmarziah.

How about check his acting skills. The movies and roles one choses are enough to master acting skills which abhishek and aishwarya lacked in majority of their films. Someone will keep on harping guru,sarkar,Yuva. It's 2 or 4 films out of 50 or so that showed that he has it in him.

This interview is pure gold from 18 minutes onward. I rewound to re-watch it. What a different perspective both Taapsee and AB brought to the table, both so different yet SO convincing when heard individually. Once again, goes on to say that all is based on one's experiences, background and situation in life (so far), and as Taapsee puts it ' whatever drives us, right?'
AB has always been one of my favorites, Taapsee a recent fav. and Vicky a newly developing favorite :-). Can't wait to watch these three together on screen. Good luck!

Film Companion Absolutely! Thanks for responding Anupama. Interestingly, I haven't watched ANY of Anurag Kashyap's work yet. I was expecting I think when Gangs came, and I just couldn't watch it after a few minutes. Somehow, never went back to it.

At 17:42, I felt there was a pain in AB's expression when he said "please appreciate it" and it's because he knows how hard it can be for someone who is not naturally gifted, Vicky & Taapsee laughed about it because they dont know the pressure you have to deal with when all your life you're just being compared with your father. It's not their fault but I just feel for AB here because he's not that bad an actor as he is thought of by the people.
I just love the way Abhishek talks. I doubt if anyone match the way he talks, so articulate.

At times in life it is a stroke of luck good or bad.... I have loved each of AB movie.. He knows acting to the core... Whether it's guru where he was too serious or Happy New year where he was playing a funny man, he made us believe that he is that person we are watching on the big screen... I hope from now onwards good scripts and good luck will hug AB so tight, that he will become the super 🌟... Which I believe he is from always...
Also when we talk about nepotism in industry, he has gone through a lot in a bad way... I request to both JANATA and CRITICS to stop the comparison between the Bachhans... Let him be Abhishek completely without being worried that he is Amitabh Bachann's son ..

When Anupama asked them which emotion they find it difficult to perform on screen, Abhishek answered emotional scenes. Well (ironically) we saw him as sattu in Ludo and that scene when he gets to see his growned up daughter oooof, he did with such perfection hands down man.🙌😁

The interview clearly shows the difference in the 2 generations of actors. So interesting to be able to see the differences in approaching their craft sitting on the same couch. Speaks volumes about the late 90's and today's mindsets in general.

There's a difference that lies in Vicky Kaushal's, Tapsee Pannu's take and Abhishek Bachchan's take because of what Shahrukh Khan explained once while talking about Alia Bhatt. The new gen actors are demotional. They can be completely invested in the moment while it's happening but immediately breakaway from it once it's over. It's not because of lack of respect but because they know the next moment is gonna be equally rewarding so why postpone it to pat your own back

But I understand Abhishek's point, too, that sometimes you should give yourself that moment to get out of the scene slowly. I wonder how it affects one's emotionality and one's psyche when you keep doing this snap in-snap out thing all the time. Doesn't it devalue the moment and the emotions if you keep switching back to that "casual coolness" all the time while acting? Or maybe it's necessary because you can switch back to being yourself and keep a stronger separation between you and the character? Just thinking out loud..
I think it's more about individual differences, using whatever approach that works for you.
Exactly what I was thinking about and I think that is what Vicky actually meant, they do take their craft seriously but not indulge to the point of breaking down. I understand what Abhishek Bachchan means as well though, very mature !
@@halloduauchhier Yeah true. Actually Abhishek Bachchan is from a time where social media was not as prevalent as today. So he had the luxury to slowly go back to himself. The new gen doesn't have that. They have to constantly be 'on'. Once the shoot's done they have to go give interviews, then to parties, launches, commercials, face flashes at airports and also post about their personal time on Instagram to maintain their relevance there. So they're basically always acting some role or the other. They do respect their main job but they have to respect the peripherals too. Like Will Smith said "Stay ready, don't get ready", that's what new gen is

I agree with tapsee by avoiding overthinking she is able to steer away from fear of failing that comes along with expectations.. But I must say I also admire Abhishek Bacchans work ethic immensely and commend him for his change in thinking and even observing it in the first place. For one to become successful in any profession requires passion and earnest dedication...giving it all like it means the world to you. I'm certain this will change his output in films let's just hope he gets the correct offers...all the best to all three!

I absolutely agree with Abhishek! I don't understand why most of the people think talking about preparation is uncool.Well if you are talking about switching your mood it depends on person to person. Few people stay in the moment for a while and few switch it off like nothing happened.It's not brilliance it's just the way people are. No matter how you prepare end results need to be good. So don't judge anyone on this basis.

I think abhishek is a excellent actor, may be one of the best actor in Bollywood. I think he’s more better than even Aishwarya, but unfortunately Indian viewers doesn’t appreciate much. I like him a lot. Dhoom 1 he was brilliant and many movies , he is simply the best. But people they don’t understand. He is intelligent too. Very versatile too. I think he is wise, lastly time is playing , nothing else, he is crushed between amitab and his wife. They love him a lot . But still his personality is somewhere crushed.
