I love how this story and the Taros campaign show how far the Tau have advanced in military tactics and equipment when dealing with the Imperiums naval assets. Their ships went from missile barges to fast attackers with a mixed armament more able to accomplish tactics like drawing away escorts to destroy troop & supply transports. It’s awesome to see and hopefully we get more books with emails like this for the Tau in the future.
I prefer the older lore where the Tau's "brain washing" was more conjecture than stated cannon. It was just much funnier to me to imagine. "Well clearly they must be mind controlling the human converts to the greater good, who in their right mind would want things like... vegetables, or 'days off' when they could have corpse starch and live in a hive city, clearly Xenos witchcraft at work, i tells ya"
its more complex than that the imperium isnt all hive worlds particularly on the frontiers like this. the brain washing or whatever you want to call it has been in since day one as has farsight stuff so its not really changed
@@ABorderPrince you know I get that. Conceptually it's such a vast setting and the stories we get from 40k will always be centered on conflict. But again I think it's more nuanced to leave some things open to interpretation
@@ABorderPrince i think farsight was there day one, but wast he a warmonger fire caste that splintered from the grater good in a very shady maner? In the earlier editios i mean.

Great to see this so long after Taros campaign report! Even if this one was Imperium's big blunder... Looking forward to more of gun-runts lore - especially Farsight/Shadowsun/Kais stories.
This is wonderful. Well done! The Helsreach graphic-audio pretty much hooked me into WH4K and this was a perfect unofficial sequel. Your Andre, btw, was spot on in my opinion. Just wonderful. Thank you Sir!
Sometimes what I love most about your readings is the "human touch" the chuckle or outright laughter or side comments like "ridiculous aliens" so many channels using AI speech. Border prince you are my favorite channel for anything warhammer related
I was introduced to you through your narration of Ciaphas Cain's adventure in Sector 13, and as biased as I am towards your Guard stuff (especially Cain, you do him great justice!) I'm expanding into your other lore vids. Glad to see you still fighting the good fight in the Emperor's holy name, m'lord!
It's worth noting though that said battle force never made it further than a single major Sept. If they had an entire Battlefleet and a larger army of Militarum, perhaps the commitment of entire chapters of Astartes and multiple Titan Battlegroups, then they would have posed a threat to the T'au Empire as a whole.
@LordCommander-ui2fw ya they thought it was a small force of expansion based on what the survey said and only single planets falling. If they sent a force the size of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade it would have caused massive damage to the Tau and possibly crippled them for centuries. Due to the sheer space power difference the Imperium would have. Now that size force would still cause damage but not nearly as much. However an Indominus Crusade would be a massive threat to the entire Tau empire. So it's all degrees of scale.
Any battleforce containing Titans can't be called "tiny". The T'au broke a Crusade fleet and allowed them to leave due to unacceptable collateral damage to the Sept world. A minor frontier Sept world, at that. Bor'kan Prime would have swatted the entire fleet out of orbit like a mosquito, to say nothing of T'au Prime itself. Only Ultramar or Sol is better defended.
@SarajevoKyoto tens of millions of Guardsmen, a few hundred Astartes and one small for of Titans is a small Crusade if you read the Sabat world Crusade, Macharius Crusade, any Crusade force assembled to fight the Tyranids, Chaos, Necrons then this is small.
Lol, sorry, I only comment "thanks" on all your videos. I truly love your work! I try to show my appreciation by always liking and commenting. A comment is a comment, right?
The tau didn’t fit in narratively previously, they still hardly mesh well but they are better than they were. Also the tau are hardly a blue imperium, they are far more controlling funny enough.
@@RomanvonUngernSternbergnrmfvus you must not know much about the imperium if you think the Tau are more controlling than them. I don’t know of any areas in the imperium inquisitors cant go but there are parts of the tau empire under auxiliary control that ethereals cant go to. They’ve been made so bland and uninteresting. Ethereals were supposed to be philosopher kings and instead they’re just mustache twirling villains like the high lords or primarchs. Can’t have anything special for the xenos though because it upsets marine fanboys
@@Kingofdragons117 not according to phil kelly. I’m not sure he even realizes there are auxiliaries in the Tau empire. In his entire series about farsight you know how many auxiliary non-tau characters there are? zero
