One day the imperium will learn that this kind of shit would not have happened if they simply gave the planet a more tame name. Any orks or demons willing to take place in the 'war for butterfly' ? Problem solved
Also, simply rename all filthy xeno races to 'Nobody', 'No one' etc. 'Nobody just totally decimated the butterflies!' or 'No one just started an insurrection!' has a nice, happy ring to it.
Orks be like: Battleflai? Dat it un epik name for da Planet. Letz fly from battl to battl. Slaneesh be like: look at me. I am a pretty buttlerfly. Granted, with tentakles, but still a butterfly. And honestly: don't Google for Alien 4 butterfly. Just don't.
I remember watching a TH-cam video of people using Dawn of War to create the first war for Armageddon where they had use the steel legion and grey knights mod to remake the battle.
I bought the first grey Knight model in 1989. They were level 4 psykers that could be attached to any army. I had him destroy a whole orc army in 2 turns, playing rogue trader era rules. If you want I will dm you that glorious battle... Battle for armageddon was a cardboard board game I believe. If I remember correctly it was before the heresy and primarchs were created and angron was just a demon Prince. But I may be a little wrong there
Really well narrated. I was the same as you, the 1st Battle was on of the first bits of lore I read back when I played the table top game growing up. Keep up the great content.
This is the stuff sir. I love this . I just read the jungle fighters book it was good stuff. The colonel with the power fist was good and the story about his kids fighting with him and him worried about loosening both of them and you can't go wrong with smart orks
I love your telling the story, it's also clear though that the story was made before the introduction of Hyperion the Blade Breaker and the month's of shame.
Saw the video. Saw the title. Started to watch and realized again: ahh right... THAT first war. I hoped for Orks. Ahh well... Could we please get the first and second war too?
And look at things now, humanity face to face on every level from high born to low born having to acknowledge that demons and chaos is real and yet humanity still lives is still loyal and still not suffering the traitor the xeno or the heretic to live. No pity! No remorse no fear! For the the khan and the emperor!
Ah that year when Angron took a road trip out of the eye and managed to wrap his car around Armagedon... that's why they say don't drive when you're angry... or Angron... which one was it?
Anybody else catch that reference with Pellucidar? The guy who wrote Tarzan wrote a series of books about an underground jungle land at the center of the Earth called Pellucidar.
Awesome narration as always, ABP. Last I checked, though, my boy Grimnar did a little more than just voice his opposition to the inquisition's policies. But really, the inquisition is just baffling to me. They're basically going around saying "The God Emperor is good and beneficent and you need to worship him to save your soul. Save it from what you ask? Uhh... nothing. There's no such thing as hell or demons or evil gods. Now get to praying. Heretics get the bolt." If they actually made people aware of chaos and the consequences of messing around with it, there would be a lot fewer Imperial citizen that just pay lip service to the Emperor. I bet half the demonic incursions in the galaxy are caused by idiot teens playing with ouji boards, because "what's the harm? It's not like demons are real." And I've said it several times before, but every time GW wants to have a big war they just conveniently forget that the inquisition exists. With how oppressive the Imperium is you'd think that important worlds like Armageddon would be under permanent scrutiny for signs of chaos cults and xenos infiltration. But no, they just come in after the planet has been completely fucked and kill all the survivors because we can't have people knowing that our enemies are actually real.
@@cousinzeke4888 Exactly. The whole point of the Imperium is that it's the most tyrannical regime imaginable which we're meant to find repugnant. Yet, given the realities of the galaxy in the 41st millennium, this level of authoritarianism is actually a necessity - if the average Imperial citizen learned the truth about what's actually out there (intergalactic locust swarm that's likely to consume everything, ancient intelligent machines who harness the power of literal gods, rampaging asexually reproducing monsters who thrive on conflict, piratical raiders who you'd rather die a thousand deaths than let them take you alive etc) it would create a panic and society would cease to function. That's without even needing to worry about the insidious threat of Chaos corruption.
@@cousinzeke4888 Not talking about Chaos isn't doing much to stop them. If anything it leaves them susceptible to manipulation from a threat they are unaware of. Some people will always lean into it. They are the ones already likely to turn, and this weeds them out quicker.

This lore really does Angron a disservice. He wouldn't have bantered or taunted. He would have engaged, hoping for someone to at least hurt him and make him try.
