So glad Ego finally made one. I’ve had two stubby nozzles. Broke one and it’s impossible to get off lol😂 don’t worry ur experience was about standard getting it off!
Tab on the new stubby is so you can add other EGO attachments. Basically you can have it short or add a piece that came with your blower and make it the same length as the Apex Air. Or have a shorty leaf blower.
Forgive my ignorance, but isn't $70 for what is essentially a plastic cylinder too much? I feel like detailing oriented products are becoming too expensive. What's going on? I understand that the price can be justified because it's a niche, but there comes a point where it feels like I'm being ripped off. I seriously don't understand how a plastic cylinder can cost more than $10 to make.
@@Kurial94 haha that's not 3D printed. That's clearly injection molded plastic. EGO has the resources to design their own stubby attachment in-house and the economies of scale to produce it at a fraction of the cost.
It cost money to design and make parts. Someone paid an engineer/designer to design the attachment. Someone paid to make an injection mold for the part. Injection molding is very expensive. And since it's a small company catering to a niche and it doesn't seem like they make anything else, it's a low volume. Ego can produce the same part at a fraction of the price because 1) it has economies of scale and in-house engineers 2) they're billion dollar company or rather part of a company that has a market cap of 1B+
I love the Ego brand stubby nozzle! Paired with a 2.5 Ah battery it's the perfect weight and balance. I'm just not a fan of the 3D printed look of the Stubby brand nozzle.
I was an early adopter of the ApexAire because I was fed up that EGO were late to the party. However, after many washes the second attachment took off on me and hit the roof of my car a few weeks ago. Let me just say I will be ordering the EGO one very soon because I believe it is shorter too!
Great video Josh! Get the Ego stubby add the band and call it a day. Fits the best, it’s made by the same company making the blower and it’s priced appropriately, no brainer! I was an early adopter for the Apexaire and it’s a joke, I use it as an expensive paperweight.
New to the EGO universe, but I love my lawn mower. Been looking to replace my Worx blower (horrible batteries) with a 765 EGO. After watching this, it's on order with the stubby nozzle. Thanks Josh!
I have a Stubby Nozzle Co. one for my Makita, it needs a screw to hold it on. I leave it one anyway as I have a Stihl petrol blower/vac for yard work, although I do find myself just grabbing the Makita 😀
Thanks Josh. I have both as well and like you left the stubby nozzle co one on there as it is not the easiest to remove but it works well leaving it on. The Ego version is also nice. It looks good even adding a blower band onto it as well even though it is not needed. Like you showcased it is easy to remove that one if needed.
I have used the short tube that the ego gutter cleaning kit has in it. It is about 9 5/8 long . It seems just a tad narrower on the end but maybe it is just thinner. I wish it had the rubbery end on it when using it on the car.
The stubble nozzle co is made out of PETG and they are 3d printed. The one from Ego not too sure. Either option looks great to me, the one from obsessed is rather expensive.
When are you going to make a video about the ecoBooster? (It has only been available for a few weeks.) This thing is an absolute revolution in high-pressure cleaning! It delivers much more power, even for older devices, is much quieter, has less recoil, and is much more comfortable to use. The jet is much more homogeneous, allowing for the cleaning of delicate surfaces. Thanks to the wider and stronger jet, you can finish cleaning much faster.
Another great video ! I’ve learned so much from your channel . My whole pressure washer set up was all from your RYOBI 1800 psi videos including all upgrades you suggested . So stoked on the performance .
Is there not an additional attachment to restrict the diameter of the stubby tool further for precision work? It seems suboptimal to have to have another whole smaller leaf blower in your workflow for that task as opposed to just adding the equivalent of a crevice tool attachment for the Ego blower.
Thanks for the video Josh. I purchased the highly-overpriced Apexaire model a couple years ago because to my knowledge there wasn't another alternative to it. Seeing all the lower-priced similar items afterwards made me wish I had waited.
I am not positive... So don't roast me but on the ego I believe the thin metal strip embedded in the blowers housing that you thought might be for alignment is actually a static wick or drain so that you don't get the dog piss knocked out of you every time you use it. There is enough air moving thru that thing to create lightning!
Could you make a video on how to tackle stuff stuck in carpets. For example I was detailing a customers car the other day and it seems as if they had sand and splinters from wood in the threads of the carpets and that took me about 1 hour just to finish that part of the car.
This may sound crazy but get a massage gun with the ball attachment and use that to loosen up the sand and other stuff. Just have your vacuum near to suck it all up.
Absolutely! If any worry just keep the top of the pressure washer a little bit further back so by the time it impacts the panel the pressure is lower. Here’s a video I did on that one th-cam.com/video/ExAOgUpO0yY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=i1g1qXLKQkL9k3QC
I love EGO products but out of the 5 batteries I've got 2 of them have gone bad after just a couple of years and those things aren't cheap! Dewalt & Milwaukee batteries seem way more reliable.
Kept waiting for you to give a comparison drying the car off, or demonstration showing the difference in blowing between stubby nozzle and the regular long... Never came... Sad
@imjoshv I have found myself wondering the same. Then makes me believe I’m slower than hell at detailing my own car on the weekends if you’re able to run a business and a YT channel. Your content is great tho. Thank you!
I’m actually not a fan of the stubby nozzles. Doesn’t focus the air enough in one area so you have to hold the blower really close to whatever you’re blowing out. It spreads out the air too much and feels really underpowered vs a more “pointy” outlet.
Yea the tlsmaller the opening definitely helps to focus the air flow.z I use these for removing the bulk of water and then a smaller unit with a narrower opening to remove all the water from the tight spots
I really enjoy your informative videos, Josh!!! I respect that you use the EGO brand blower, but after watching the Stuuby video, I went with the Greenworks. It's just me at home, so hopefully, I don't have any issues. If I do, I got it from Costco, so it'll be returnable. After watching this, I'll definitely get the stubby nozzle. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE GREAT VIDEOS!!! th-cam.com/video/l-JSXL91KZs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-uV6rO_0h3SG82uQ Just make sure Stubby nozzle is for the actual model blower you have - I know it sounds silly but each brand model is a little different.
Whoa, whoa, whoa… Matt Moreman sells something for twice the price of a comparable product??? 🤯 bet he has a long winded video about how long the development took to make it perfect… 🙄
Oh of course, goes in lines with Matt’s $87,382 pressure washer setup. We all know why Matt chooses EGO as his brand of course.. helps his ego out. Overpriced Garage.
I bought www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BQMR622L . Fits and operates just as the stock attachments. If EGO had theirs out I'd have bought EGO, idk why you would buy anything else. The other 2 you linked are overpriced and way overpriced. They filled a void when there wasn't any other options, but now there are endless cheaper options.
Sorry, but that is not a "nice" material. Those ridges indicate that it's just a 3D printed cylinder. It's not even printed that thick. $40+ for a 3D printed cylinder that probably used not even 5 cents worth of filament....no thanks.

The ego attachment here is the no brainer pick here, price plus ease of removing.
So glad Ego finally made one. I’ve had two stubby nozzles. Broke one and it’s impossible to get off lol😂 don’t worry ur experience was about standard getting it off!
I have a greenworks. I took the extension off and wrapped the edge with a thick soft tape. Didn’t know stubbies were a thing

Josh, I struggled removing my stubby nozzle at first however, after watching the video from Stubby nozzle it removes very easily.
@2:58 I have the ego short tube. The little tab is so you can attach the OEM wide fan nozzle if you wanted to that came with the blower.

I have the Stubby Nozzle for my EGO and find it difficult to remove.
CSW has the Stubby nozzle on clearance right now @ $12.99
you have ryobi in the title but i dont see a link for any attachments for it. the apexaire doesnt look like it would work with my ryobi?
Josh the one you have had for a year that you use is 3D printed. That's why it has all those little lines.
Thanks Josh!!!
Have you seen the Powryte electric pressure washer line?

Made this video much longer than it should’ve been! 🤦🏽♂️
Your local library may be able to print a nozzle out for you for a more affordable cost.
Do you now use this to dry your cars or do you still use the little Ryobi blower?
This is unrelated but need some help. I got a 2300 psi ryobi pressure washer on marketplace for cheap. Wondering if this is okay for cars?

@@imjoshv really appreciate the reply! Just watched that video as well. Would you recommend a 3.5 orifice with a 40 degree tip to be safe?
Of course Obsessed Garage uses an EGO blower, helps supplements his ego.
I have the Apex. Been wanting to replace it. It disconnects too easily with a light bump of the leg.

With the stubby nozzles you need headphones because the blower screams!

$70 for a very basic 3D print is crazy
The moment we realized that having a stubby is a good thing...
Too late! I already got my stubby last year and it works just fine. I think I paid around the same price as the ego.
When do you find time to work
I know right. When I first started the channel I was doing 3 videos a week… easy 60+ hours a week
