Hi Scotty. How are you? I have read and watched quite a few documentaries on crime but this one sent chills up my spine and literally made me sick. I have never heard of any story more bizarre than this one. Could there be anything worse? However anything shown or told by you I will never miss. Such a job well done by you. Hi Karen , well this video was tough for many reasons let alone it’s a difficult subject to film and I wanted to get it filmed correctly and with respect. It was definitely lonely way up north there in Wisconsin but it’s stark beauty is also quite breathtaking. And yes I try my best to write back to everyone who comments because I truly do appreciate anyone who takes the time to watch what I put up. I hope Sean is doing well I haven’t heard from him in a while . Please give him my best and let the whole family know some day I’ll be down there to visit all of you! Take care!
Heard lots of Gein stories over the years. My maternal grandmother was born in Waushara County. My mom's friend lived in Plainfield pretty much all her life. She knew alot about what happened. So interesting to hear from somebody who was actually in the area at the time this all happened.

Just to let you know about the Plainfield cemetery, Bernice Worden has her own head stone, its very flat and is right in front of the large Worden stone. I have pics if your interested. Also, right in front of the Geins headstones toward the road is Eleanor Adams headstone, whom Ed dug up and parted her remains. The police exhumed her grave and found it to be empty. I'm not sure if her body was ever returned to rest. Kind of ironic that Ed ended up being buried right behind her.
I've always been intreagued by Ed Gein's story. I've seen several of the movies based in him. My 2 favorites being "Derranged" (1974) starring Roberts Blossom, and "Ed Gein" (2007) starring Kane Hodder. Very creepy looking town... the gray sky, thick forest, and the little amount of people there certainly does make it look like a town a serial killer would live in.
Thank you for taking your time to show all these places. It does put the peices together when you show the places. Such torture all the way around for him and the people he killed. Can you imagine what his parents went through as kids to grow up and bring that into their relationship with their kids. Has to come from somewhere.
Augusta gein was BEATEN by her own religious father. But that does not give an excuse to what she or her husband did to her children. Beating and verbal abuse.
Mr. Scott, I left some earlier, goofy comments on this video but I just finished watching the whole thing and wanted to seriously say that you did a great job.
Great version of the story. 2022 brought me back here. Just a fascinating, sad and sick story. I can see why so many filmmakers steal from this and try to make it their own. Fantastic job bringing this creepy story to us. Wow - disturbing to say to least. These places are creepy now, but can you imagine the landscape and times of back then. Damn uncomfortably thinking about it. Ok - nuff said. Great job, Scott. Glad the 2022 installment had the humour to get us through it. Take care.
Historic aerials show the Tavern stood just inside the shrubbery to left. It was later converted to a house and before being razed. The Gein farmhouse actually stood facing 2nd Ave, just south of Archer immediately to the right of the entry gate you showed us and not left. The other buildings on the property were not standing in 1957. The barn stood in the location of the smaller structures there today and where Miss Worden'sbody was found.
Where did you find these aerial shots? You are correct about everything except one thing, Bernice Wordens body was found in the summer kitchen which was attached to the rear end of the house facing west. Eds car and truck are both west of Plainfield about 28 miles, stored in a machine shed all these years.
Good grief!!! Creep me out. Never heard this before. Equally disturbing that his headstone was considered valuable enough to steal. However a moment of relief was when you said '... high voltage, experienced that firsthand'. Love your videos, you are amazing.
Just found your channel when searching for Crimes in Wisconsin. It came up with your Ed Gein video (I live 20-25 minutes from Plainfield). Great job on the video; I see several more on your video list that I’m looking forward to watching - subscribed
Population only 862, can only imagine what it was back then. A small town like that with such a crime probably rocked them. I sure hope you are safe when you travel lonely roads like that. I'm sure there is so much bad energy left where his house stood and he did all the terrible acts. Great video, now to go watch the one where you are alone in his cell. Thank you Scott and stay safe on the adventures.
Great video and insight into the bizzare world of Ed Gein. I can just imagine how creepy it must have been to be in some of these locations, but Scott you have done an awesome job, the best I’ve seen on this subject.
This was very terrifying and very sad. It is unbelievable that there are people who really actually do things like this. Thanks for another great video Scott. Peace and love...be safe 🙏❤❤
This was a very interesting video. I know it’s a hard one but like you I was always wondering about his life and his life. Thank you for the story Scott. No one could of done a better job
Ed Gein was crazy like a fox…..his psychologist at the end of Ed’s life said he enjoyed his notoriety with visitors who would come visit the Mendota center where Ed was housed. Ed would tumble and smooth stones in the activity shop and hand them to visitors and smile….creepy dude
Best video on the internet about this subject. Liked and subscribed. What’s really creepy is you are not the only person to have filmed in particular locations and received some sort of anomaly or interference with the footage. Interesting.
Just happened upon your channel. Will be checking out your other videos. You are awesome!!! I live within forty minutes of there; and almost bought a house in that town about a decade ago. I grew up in an area that is very rich in haunted history. You may want to some day make a series of videos of the Willow Springs Illinois area... Several good topics to cover there: The Grimes Sisters, Oh Henry's Bar (Capone hangout with tunnels that lead to cemetery, and the Willowbrook Ball Room, which has since burnt down), Resurrection Mary(Resurrection Cemetery is in nearby Justice Illinois), The Helen Brach horse ranch, etc. etc. There are lots of creepy places there, and some of the stories connect one place to another. I used to work a state job that took me into some of them. Very freaky stuff. If you do any of it, please keep me in the loop.
In 1959, my grandparents and I stopped in his plainfield. The under sheriff told us how his mother was killed by Ed. His mother owned the hardware store. He ran the gas station kiddy corner from there. We had stopped there for gasoline.
Hope you are doing great after this video. The sadness took its toll on you. Amazing video as always. I have a strange obsession with serial killers. Much love and respect to you Scott.
My family grew up with Eddie. It’s so sad his childhood. My family said he was a really nice kind man who helped them always. He babysat some of my family too. And my aunt owned the hardware store after what happened.
I feel that you are a very tender hearted person, Scott. I love your videos , and right now I'm binge watching them. Keep it up ! I think he killed his brother. I dont feel that he stood a chance in life. He had arrested development, I think, of sorts. Its so flat there, it's strange to me because I live in west virginia and there are mountains everywhere!
Henry Gein died when he and Ed were doing some burning. He brought them to where Henry’s body was. I believe that Ed murdered his brother. As for the two other innocent victims of Ed Gein, I strongly believe he seen both the owner of the hardware store and the owner of the bar as his mum and he was SO angry and screwed up by the behaviour of his parents but more so towards his mother that he took his anger and frustration out on Bernice Worden and the other lady whose name I can’t remember. Rest in peace to Ed Geins victims.
I grew up in hancock wi..went to school In plainfield wi,,all my life...I'm consumed by eds past..it's what we were known for...it's crazy but I definitely feel that he is with me..idk if it's cuz it was imbedded in our heads as kids by our parents,, teachers,, people,,but I don't feel alone...I struggled hard with addiction..but I found recovery..but I cannot shake the feeling of ed gein..
I worked with a lady that believed that the Texas chainsaw massacre actually happened. I told her Ed Gein inspired that movie. And she didn't believe me until I looked it up and showed her. The original one mentioned my hometown towards the end of the movie. Some people think that it actually happened outside of my hometown.
Awesome video Scott! Can you just imagine the abuse in this Gein household and the brain washing also that boy never stood a chance in life growing up,, those sick parents created a monster I can’t imagine the horror in that small town and what the family’s went through

Thank you very much . The headstone for Ed Gein was stolen a few years ago but returned to the town and its now in the police department headquarters basement.
Crazy how his victim is buried so close to him and his family. Also I am surprised with the obsession people have with serial killers that Ed's gravesite isn't littered with fan memorabilia

Hope you are doing great after this video. The sadness took its toll on you. Amazing video as always. I have a strange obsession with serial killers. Much love and respect to you Scott.
Wow this is crazyyyyy!!! This was so interesting! Great video Scott :)
My family grew up with Eddie. It’s so sad his childhood. My family said he was a really nice kind man who helped them always. He babysat some of my family too. And my aunt owned the hardware store after what happened.
The reason there isn’t much in the hardware store is because my aunt and uncle got sick. My aunt passed away not long after this video.
I don't know you know Ed gein
Stop lying 😂 his name wasn’t Eddie
@@ashleewilliams2646 her last name is pretty Wisconsinish idk you gotta grow up to know that I got Milwaukee Gear and Green Bay Gear so word is bond
Ever since I watched the haunted painting video I hear popping sounds on this video. Great!
It’s great to see another Toronto boy do his thing on TH-cam, love all your vids brother.
I’m from Mimico by the way, keep them videos coming 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thank you Keith! Big ups to Mimico!
Wow you did a great job on this video Scott. Drew me right into sad and scary story. 💛
Thank you Alma , and good to hear from you again
I feel that you are a very tender hearted person, Scott. I love your videos , and right now I'm binge watching them. Keep it up ! I think he killed his brother. I dont feel that he stood a chance in life. He had arrested development, I think, of sorts.
Its so flat there, it's strange to me because I live in west virginia and there are mountains everywhere!
Thank you so much Diane ! And I agree, I think he killed his brother too.
Awesome video. Just recently subscribed. U do amazing videos watch them everytime they upload.
Rest in peace to Ed Geins victims.
amazing work man! subbed
Awesome quality. I have the whole documentary on Ed Gain. He was a sick sob. Thanx for sharing this.
Thank you so much Christina!
Gotta say this was one of your best Scott. `Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you so much Joe!
Nobody ever mentions that Ed was considered an above average tap dancer and had potential to be one of the best!
Oh really it mentions your town that’s crazy !
@@SCOTTONTAPE yea. Towards the end of the movie
I couldn’t imagine… thank you for sharing… I really enjoy your work.. you rock!!!
Hey is anyone else hearing like a clicking or audio interference clicking in the video or is it just me?

It's Eds brother telling us he was hit with a rock and strangled 😢😢😢the click is the hit over and over
I just found your channel, now I’m binge watching. Awesome content. I definitely subscribed! 😊
Awesome video Scott! Can you just imagine the abuse in this Gein household and the brain washing also that boy never stood a chance in life growing up,, those sick parents created a monster
I can’t imagine the horror in that small town and what the family’s went through
I agree, the parents are to blame for a lot of what Ed became .
@@TheAnonymous-d4l I believe that also! history has said she was a wicked person 😕
@@TheAnonymous-d4l
Not revenge --more like from the crazy conditioning of mommy. He was taught 'good'girls' shouldn't talk or act in such & such way -- so that made them 'evil' according to mommy's teachings -- BUT the really weird thing is that Ed 'wanted them'-- was attracted to them---- but 'mommy would think me a bad boy if I went with them--type thing--
And Ed really snapped when 'mommy' died- suddenly there was no one to TELL HIM what to do-- Ed; " Mommy can't be gone--" and some where along the line ED -- for awhile at least 'BECAME MOM' --
He'd tan the woman's skins, sow them together-- wear those skins -- Probably sat in her chair in her bedroom & read out loud...
The mother's room was the only room in the house that was neat & tidy.
I think the gruesome times in his mind his 'dad' would take over.
Just a guess but once on the mental ward along with the drugs they had him on-- mentally I think he spent most of the rest of his time alive -- mentally thinking he was a 'kid' again.
This is all just guessing on my part -- The dude's dead we can't talk to him.
Ed used to baby sit people's kids -- Maybe at those times in his mind he wanted to be a kid -- He never really got to play with other kids when he was young.
I'm no shrink -- But learned a lot from college plus just tons of reading on the subject.
@@ruthshelton-tp9ie it is usless and pointless to continue discussing ed gein he is dead ...lets move on our lives
New sub. Love your Channel. You work so hard for your videos. Love them.
Thank you so much!
I've heard this story before. It's neat to see what it all looks like today. Still creapy. Love your vids.
Thank you so much ✌🏽✌🏿
We were just talking about Ed two days ago. My ✈️ First Officer was from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Scott....2 days ago, we were stuck on the airplane with passenger’s for 3 hours in Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦. We than had to stay over night in Toronto because of the airline stuff....Shizzle!!!! Canadian customs makes you do a lot to get into Canada and the line for regular passenger’s is long! 😡
I thought about you having to go through all of that Canadian custom mess...You coming into the USA is truly appreciated!!!
True crime is my thing... You did a amazing job on this Scott... Makes me want to go to Plainfield, Wi.
Thank you so much Tom
Been watching a lot of your videos Scott love them you rock!!!!
Thank you so much Graham!
Just subscribed 👍 Man U do great stuff!!! I’m catching up on all ur videos and can’t wait for more 😃
Your channel is dope man.....very good idea to do this
Thank you so much, really appreciate that
I thought they said he was buried in an unmarked grave. Really good video. This is the first time I've seen someone go to the actual locations.
Thank you very much . The headstone for Ed Gein was stolen a few years ago but returned to the town and its now in the police department headquarters basement.
@@SCOTTONTAPE You're welcome. Thanks for going out there and sharing it.
Great video Scott so greepy with that clicky sounds 😕😕✌️🙏♥️♥️
I know this was a hard video to make but I appreciate you doing this! God bless you!
Thank you Shauna!
Nice job with the video dude. Terrifying yet fascinating Ed Gein.
Crazy how his victim is buried so close to him and his family. Also I am surprised with the obsession people have with serial killers that Ed's gravesite isn't littered with fan memorabilia
Just subscribed, great video scott
Was that popping noise intentional or was there some strange kind of evp effecting your equipment?
Very familiar with this case. Excellent coverage!!
I live about 45 minutes away from Plainfield, creepy and quiet town. I visited the locations and graves last year. I wouldnt even get out of my car at the location of his farm lol
It’s so eerie out there
Cool... 😊
His life began in lacrosse wis then moved to Plainfield wis thats where the legend of gien began.
Wow so scary
@@lisamunson1789 Wellthe beginning of his downward spiral into madness thanks to his parents!
Just visited these sites today! I love 19 miles away from his property!

Damn it's so terrifying... Still thanks for the tour
Absolutely loving your channel, dude.
Thanks so much Eric!
Scott, I didn't know you were this close to me! I live about 45 miles away from Plainfield. I hate driving through it going to visit my family, it is so creepy.
It’s a weird little town right?? Like middle of the day and no one around !
I used to live in wautoma. I remember having to drive through Plainfield all the time to go to work and I actually worked in Plainfield as well my favorite thing about that small little town was the very end were the overpass is. Do they still have those adult shops there side to side?😂
Petty McSavage I actually don’t think I saw that overpass or those stores lolol
@@SCOTTONTAPE yeah they do I live hear
This guy was the devil in human form
Thank you Scott..You did another excellent job on this story..You are right..it is interesting..messed up, but interesting...
His brother died in a grass fire on the farm. It was very suspicious. Ed probably did it
After his mothers death?
@@AWCTB no. Before
I don’t know but I don’t get the feeling that he killed his brother . What would the motive be? I do wish Harry had lived though just to get his thoughts on what went down
Thank you ! Great Upload ! Thank‘s for Sharing!
I gotta hand it to you man you done an amazing job at finding Mary’s tavern I haven’t seen a video where someone has found it so good job and good job on the whole video I enjoyed every minute of it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you so much Kota ✌🏽✌🏽
This was dark, i had never heard of Ed Gein till now. He was a messed up guy. You did a awesome job
Hichcock movie Psycho was made from Ed Gein. Norman Bates mother and other women parts in house. Hichcock wrote and fimed Psycho less then two years after Gein.
Informative as always...so sad and I’m sure the whole town suffered repercussions of his actions also. X
Yes it was a heavy burden for the town for a very long time . Thank you for watching !
