I’ve seen the Boiled Lint Seed oil with Mineral spirit dilution.
I wonder how shine juice would compare to the Patina Sauce that Puddin’s fab shop promotes.

I tried the patina sauce. It never completely dried and stayed kind of tacky so dust and dirt would stick to it. Just got some shine juice in the mail today and hoping it's better.
i am so old i can remember when patina was called an old faded paint job or even rusty.. that look once made them much cheaper now people will pay over 10k for a custom patina paint job
Gibbs oil is the go to oil. It can be cleaned off and painted over later not like WD40.

Well a cheap fix for not wanting to do body work painting and sanding. Just with your camera. I agree Derick’s shine juice was shiny over the WD 40 and linseed oil. Thanks for sharing! 💯

Linseed oil works well with a bit of thinner.
Goes on less sticky. Wipes of easier.
Can you use anything besides Mineral Spirits?
I would love to see a comparison with Poppy's Patina, Shine Juice, and Flood Penetrol. For the money, I am really curious about the Penetrol as an alternative, or possibly Majic Clear from Tractor Supply. I don't see why it couldn't be wiped on.

I got a can of Shine Juice but haven't used it yet. Derek was nice enough to include a couple of rags in w it... l think l got one of Jessica's old tank tops.

That's good to know if your not planing on not painting your ride in a while wipe the Papys patina over primer/old paint.
I drove my ride around for 3 year's with feather fill primer. When I was going to paint it turn into a bigger job. I had to re-sand it all down because dirt got inbeded in the primer.
HOT RODZ FLATZ is what I used that paint is tried and true. A German shepherd leash got stuck on the back wheel parked the dog nails scratch the side of the ride up couldn't even tell. Oh and the dog is okay he found a for ever home. My ride turn out okay to.
Should try the sweet patina , Puddin uses.. I think it will be Good choice..
I like the shine juice, I use Patina Sauce brand, same stuff I’m sure. Works great!!

boiled linseed oil with minerl turps 50-50 mix ,try that combo
boiled linseen is not so stickey but is flamable when soaked in a rag.
i have used this combo callaed teak oil for decks
I think that 'not being able to paint over WD-40' problem sounds like a 'future Casey' problem, so let's not worry about it right now!

low buck garage does a good piece on the juice. how good it is seems to depend on where one lives. dust sticks to the juice like glue.
Before he had shine juice he had a concoction that he posted about on vice grip garage. It was linseed oil but it had was cut with something else that send it out a bit maybe it was paint thinner I'm not sure but it got rid of that sticky issue.
I've never tried it, but as I hear it, you're supposed to use BOILED linseed oil. It's not so sticky.

Anybody know how well the shine juice or similar products holds up to quick detailer spays?
Cant remember the difference between boiled linseed oil vs linseed oil, but from my usage of boiled linseed oil with fabric, it takes a couple days to a week or so to dry, depending on the thickness..
Quality stuff I can live for this. Do buff juice next

The only patina on that truck is the inside of the tailgate.

Agree that BLO is not that great a choice. Yes it gives an initial nice look but, is sticky, attracts dust and dirt making the vehicle look terrible and does not last as long as some claims.
You can spray it down with bulldog and itll do the same thing
if i remember correctly before they started selling it derek mixed up a batch for people to see and make their own i think it was boiled linseed oil mineral spirits wd40 or pb blaster and one other ingredient i cant recall

So, I love to put it on my car because I don't like commitments and a clear coat is a commitment but my question is can I put it on a modern plastic headlight cover instead of a clear coat I wonder if that will destroy my headlights or make them look great again

Never been a fan of putting oil on paint. Just creates more problems if you change your mind and want to repaint later. Clear coat will always sand off and not create problems. The wipe on clear option would be better in my opinion.
So why not cut the B.S and do Poppy's Patina $49.95 side by side with VSG Shine Juice $54.99. Yes Poppy's makes VSG but is it worth $5 more for a label which is obviously VSG profit on the bottle.
Poppys doesn't make a oil based product, so it would be apples to oranges.

I went away from the linseed oil after I got caught in the rain and it got all over the windows lol.
I like the shine juice but never used it. I think I'm gonna go with the pappys patina hard coat on mine

problem and pro I guess, is WD-40 evaperates pretty quick (intended to, Water Displacing, old points get wet? little wd-40 and down the road). That said, you really don't want to use linseed oil on a daily driver. Yuk.
