Paul’s voice so good, lucky enough I saw them at Donnington 96 and Wembley 99 when his voice was still strong, Ace is on top form 100000 years. Good gig.

your damn right bro!,yes the original kiss,i saw 4 reunion shows,1 psycho circus and 2 farewells with the original 4,to they should have ended it all on top in 2000,the new lineup is not kiss and i dont care how long tommy and eric have been in the band and all now,the original 4 came from nothing and built it to what it became in my eyes.
What solo? What band are you in that I can see your solo? Yeah, none, just what I thought. The whole band was talented. Ace was the juice. The Ace in the hole I call it.
You gotta give it up for Peter Criss... think about how many 2 hour shows he has played with KIss... I hate how people always bash on how slow his drumming looks.. but in reality hes totally got it down when it comes to saving his energy... many drummers can't keep that stamina for longer than 30 minutes these days, so god bless him.
Peter Criss was my first influence as a drummer. Sometimes it's not just about technique but heart, soul and passion as a player. If you watch the early KISS footage, Peter had some great chops and played with alot of heart. Unfortunately, his skills diminished considerably over the years. I'm sure drugs and alcohol and his car acciddnt were major contributors to this. And if you use cocaine, i know that it doesnt make you a better drummer...which could explain the rushing. Not to mention he suffers with carpal tunnel syndrome which is a nightmare for drummers. I don't think he has played the same since the late 70's. Peter will always be an influence to me personally because he made me want to pick up the sticks and play drums. It's sad to see Peter (and Ace) playing at a fraction of what they once were. All that aside, Peter influenced a ton of drummers to start playing (including myself) and from there it was Bonham, Ian Paice, Dave Weckl, etc.
What are tou talking about? Eric has probably played more two hr shows than Pete at this point, and is still a monster on those drums he is also older than Pete was during the reunion
mike racicot KISS fans need to get over the whole Ace and Peter thing. And if a guy who is a HARD CORE fan can get there? anyone can. YES Ace and Peter are legend. No argument. But i went to see the "new" KISS a while ago and I went to the show with folded arms and a "fuck you show me" attitude. Within 3 or 4 songs I had eased up and just started to enjoy the music. Is Tommy Ace? No. Can he play? Yes. Is Eric a good drummer? Absolutely . He plays far harder than Peter can these days. Something i quite like. In the end the music goes on and that's all that matters. Did the world come to an end when Mick Taylor joined the Stones? No. Move on people. Enjoy the music and forgive.
I personally like this show. I don't care if it's a little sloppy. Seeing Ace in makeup and playing is the only thing I care about. But I think we can all agree that the farewell tour was one of the best tours of all time.
wow! I have many bootleg VHS from this tour and of course all the other reunion tour shows but this is by far the best one I've seen from the live shots to the sound it feels 'live' like your there at the concert. I will add this to my collection and make my own dvd. KISS should remaster this video audio and put on the next KISSology! Great show.
My first concert ever was KISS in Buffalo during the Dynasty tour. Hated that album, but they sounded great. Seen them 2 more times again during the worldwide live reunion in Buffalo and Hamilton Ontario and I have to say they were much better in Hamilton. Being on the floor in row 5 probably factored into that though.
LesPaul2006 Peter went through soooo much physical pain with his arms and hands....that's stemming all the way back to 70s! Part of the reason why numbed the pain with coke. He was also paid WAY less than Ace for the reunion, read his book. The last insult was when Ace left and Tommy took over as the "Ace wannabe" and still got paid less than Tommy Thayer! READ Peter's book, it will REALLY open your eyes to Gene and Paul's GREED and manipulation of the band, politics and overall power hunger.
Jimmy Stinky be aware its Peter's version of things - not necessarily fact. FACT: Peter & Ace were paid the same for the first reunion tour - a flat, upfront fee. When you leave a band in 1980 and said band were successful for 15 years without you - it doesn't leave you much leverage to demand anything when they allow you to come back in.
Brought back so many great memories of a great time in my life... the 70's. Saw them with Aerosmith in STL the next year. What a great recreation of the 78 concert here. They and their music is timeless. Glad to hear of their induction in the Hall of Fame! Much deserved.
Almost like 1977 again. This is legendary. That's the difference between "This Kiss" and "The other" Kiss. This is not imitation Kiss!! And yeah Peter isn't that technical, and people hate on him for the wrong reason. The guy is an important member of Kiss. And he plays all of his drum parts exactly the same way he played it in the 70,s. Period. No worse and no better. The same as the legendary "Alive" records. And guess what, his weak beats are almost a Kiss trademark sound! Peters style actually fits this band perfect. Anything more actually ruins the Kiss sound in my opinion. And as for Ace, he's the 1 and only Kiss lead guitarist I accept. For one, he's the original. And for two, Ace has the best stage presence of anyone. And for three, he's a great guitar player. And like Peter, his sound Is legendary Kiss! This is what I grew up on from 75 to 79. And this is the line-up that I recognize, both audibly and visually. No other version is relevant to me personally.
The main difference between Peter and Eric is that while Eric has better endurance and technical chops, Peter has the IT factor. When Peter does drum solos, I've seen people go from being wild and screaming nut jobs to people frozen in a zombie like trance who can't take their eyes/ears off of his solos. Sometimes they're less impressive than others, but whey they're ON the friggin' kick ass! When Eric does drum solos, it's bathroom/concession stand time for a huge percentage of people.

I love the part when Paul introduces Ace before "Shock Me". He says Ace will tell you about the song, they miss each other's hands in a hi five, Ace simply blurts "SHOCK ME!", and they kick it into high gear! Fantastic! You can tell that Paul and Ace have a pretty good sense of humor, and had Gene not been so alienating/serious at some of the smaller FUN moments (not the drug stuff or unprofessional stuff), then this version of the band could have lasted longer with less personalty clashes.
Yeah i agree on that.Kiss will always be to me the original 4 i saw a few dates of the reunion tour as well as their first 'farewell' tour with nugent and skid row it was so awsome,i was too young in the 70's to see them in their prime i wish i could time travel,i know a flea market who has a tour book from the 'love gun' tour for like $100 i might look into getting.
I saw them 3 times between '96-'98 and it was great to see them together again while they were still young Men for the most part. Peter was in his 50s(like I am NOW!)but he kept groovin'. The Springfield Civic Center show was the best out of the three,so awesome!
Greatness! This is the best pro-shot shows from the fantastic Reunion Tour which I was fortunate enough to see but from the Milwaukee show from the same Tour. They were always popular in the Midwest so they played most Midwest cities. The show I saw was a teenage dream fulfilled after being a loyal KISS fan since I was kid. The walls in my bedroom had huge KISS poster on them and I was in the KISS Army even. I listened to Alive 1 and 2 and looked at the inner gatefold and wished I could see that live Stageshow! I could hear it but I wanted to see the spectacle for once finally. When I heard they were Reuniting for the 96 Tour I was ecstatic! It was like dreams do come true as I was too young to go before but this time it was exactly 20 years later. They were huge and the hottest band in the world in 1976 and 1977. Then they were done for awhile until the Unplugged show! Finally it was going to happen! The original Fantastic Four were getting back on Tour on final time! They did not disappoint me! That night I felt thrilled like I was a teenager again! When they hit the stage the Arena went wild! I stood up in disbelief seeing my teenage idol Space Ace playing guitar in front of me finally. And Catman Peter Criss finally! They were well rehearsed and knew exactly where to be on stage during the show it was so professional. I saw they were like old pros coming back to show people how the big boys play again. Kind of like when Jordan came back to play again. It was a legend coming back to life! They knew how to perform and deliver the goods! As one can see from this great show! I have no record of the Milwaukee show so this one from Toledo will have to be it! Thanks for sharing these incredible Shows! And thanks to TH-cam also! I’m so thrilled to see this! Rock on! 👏🏻🔥
Awesome…thanks for sharing. It was a magical time seeing these shows in 96-97. I probably saw about 15 shows live. And if you got a bootleg VHS of a show…that was a score. And if it was ProShot???? You thought you hit the lottery! Great times.
You might be right because some people say They can’t hear the audience in this recording. There’s another soundboard of KISS in Tokyo on January 31st 1995 and you can barely hear the audience on that one also. So I think you’re correct on this being a FOH recording
Loved seeing KISS throughout the 70’s. Saw them in the old Sports Arena which was just a great place for concerts. Never saw anybody at Savage Hall where this is. Good memories!
I loved the Reunion Tour and saw them on all of their original line-up reunion tours(Reunion and "Psycho Circus" and "Farewell"). I love the original line-up of KISS(I grew up on them and love all of the original line-up albums!!) I also loved all of the later KISS line-ups), However, I totally disagree with the people who don't like the current line-up with Gene/Paul/Tommy Thayer/Eric Singer ...They are incredible live and very wickedly tight live and faithful to what KISS always stood for. They deliver 100% every night and are actually phenomenal musicians who do a damn good job. I have seen them numerous times on several tours, and they never fail to kick ass!!! Most of the people who criticize them have probably never seen how killer they play live!!
Lol thank goodness for drum triggers. It’s amazing ace and peter can do that after years of living normal lives then one day getting up in a stadium and playing. Wow
What's a Kiss concert without the crowd noise, I'm glad as a kid growing up in Phoenix I got to see the four original band members live not once mind you but dozens of times. KISS THE LOUDEST BAND IN THE WORLD!!!
Jude Schaub yea i got alittle extra from the band because it was my bday. Eric took me on stage and showed me his drum kit after they did the autographs. And they took me to the room where they eat dinner and i got to eat and talk with them.
I have seen the band 35 times dating back to 1982. I have enough concert audio and video footage of them-all eras- to fill a small room. That being stated, THIS is a GREAT performance by ANY measure, and absolutely one of the best I’ve seen, or heard from the Alive Worldwide reunion tour! When the original lineup was on their game, they were the greatest rock band in the world. Period.
Nate Mendelson checks his hair at 49:53. What a great show man I am super impressed by Ace that dude ready killed it. Yeah Peter is a little sedated but not like the crowd would know they can't see that poor shriveled old gristle. I saw a pre-show interview from this tour and Ace was awesome, straight up no drunken cackle and Peter was talking about having the best time of his life and wanting to do an album they really are huge parts of what made KISS so great and during these shows they're a pretty tight kick ass group.
I think this was a good show for too many reasons to mention, so I'll just call out the obvious. This was them fresh out on the road after NOT playing together in who knows how long. In the beginning, you can hear some bum notes and some missed cues, but what you see happening is they start to pull it together and you see the magic that made them untouchable back then. By the time they hit Deuce...their cooking. as far as Pete not hitting the drums hard..you don't have to break skins to get a big sound..use heavy sticks, turn up the snare in the mix. For all his health issues, to get back out there and give it his all..he's got my vote. as far as Ace goes..he did more for rock guitar then names I won't even mention here for fear of getting into a war with fools who don't know music and what it takes to actually master an instrument. So as far as I'm concerned, he could have been up there just holding down PAUL'S parts and he'd STILL mop the floor with a lot of "guitar players". He's Ace! and lastly..I read all this negative crap about how this sounds like shit and he sounds like shit and it's not 77..blah blah blah. When you write the songs they did, sell the albums they did, tour the world more times then they can even count...and sell out ARENAS 20 years later....THEN YOU CAN JUDGE. But you haven't..you won't so...just watch, listen and learn from the true big boys...oh yeah..and try to enjoy it. Peace...I'm out. Kiss RULES!
Garegh62 well..getting out there and doing it on this level must be challenging every time...And then wasn't there some kind of break in the action for a while before they headed back out? It truly isn't bad at all..I play professionally and there's always some warming up when you get out there...a lot of factors to consider...someone could've been sick..ect. I defend then cause I know a few songs in they start cooking...can't take away from a band this great.
+Westley P. Crawford By this time, Stanley and Simmons were beyond wondering how to pull off a powerful KISS show with Criss in such bad shape physically. He WAS one of the best, but by now he'd lost it to the extent that S&S had their techs outfit Criss's drums with triggers, so that he could just tap them and they would create a BOOMING sound out front. I saw this tour too, and Stanley and Simmons were - as always - fucken awesome; Ace was in good shape at the gigs I saw, but Criss was always just a Baby Driver. Poor guy. Go home, get some rest, Peter... take the tinfoil off the windows....
+Jon Dunmore Peter on his worst day is better than you could ever hope to be. I bet you dont even play drums,so what the hell would you know about doing a show?
I am still writing music and performing problem is it's so hard to put a real live rock band together these days and most younger guys either have no talent or think they are the 'star' when they haven't done anything. I've been in and out of bands and toured and recorded and yet it's still hard to find real rock n rollers these days.
@1:48:51 that kid with the ear protection...is like..holy crap I'm at a KISS concert! The look on his face is priceless! Good his father was smart enough to put those on him...
This is band that made me pick up a guitar. and now its all I have that makes me feel like im worth a shit. For a band of dudes from Queens and Brooklyn to give such a thing to a kid from eastern new mexico is truly amazing. Gene and Paul (esp Paul) have remained committed to giving this to other kids. BUT, I don't really care for the new line up in terms of greatness. I have nothing against them but Ace Gene Peter and Paul are truly heroes to me. I don't know where Id be without them.
Yeah, it's the real guys! Excellent screen shot. Saw them on this tour and they were great. You couldn't pay me to see Gene, Paul and the two imposters these days.

I have also seen there: Bob Dylan, Yes, The Firm, Rush, Robert Plant. Here's a little Kiss/Toledo trivia for you, they played their last gig with Criss on 12/16/ '79 at Toledo Sports Arena, which was demolished in '07.
My dad went to this live show when he was in his college years when they turned all the speakers up he lost tons of hearing. You can henpeck this performance all day long but I love it, love the Catman and love kiss - legends of rock
KISS!!!
Навсегда……
Неповторимые и Единственные в Мире!!!
Благодарю от всего сердца за музыку,за талант,за энергию!
Радости и Счастья всем,кто любит Kiss….❤❤❤❤
Say what you will about KISS, but they brought rock and theater together in one kickass package.
your damn right bro!,yes the original kiss,i saw 4 reunion shows,1 psycho circus and 2 farewells with the original 4,to they should have ended it all on top in 2000,the new lineup is not kiss and i dont care how long tommy and eric have been in the band and all now,the original 4 came from nothing and built it to what it became in my eyes.
ORIGINAL KISS..the best!!!
It's simple...Ace Rules
yes he does
Ace is the best!!!!!!!
at being the worst, yes. That solo!!!! Geez its abysmal. Was it suppose to be a joke?.
Ace is a beast
What solo? What band are you in that I can see your solo? Yeah, none, just what I thought. The whole band was talented. Ace was the juice. The Ace in the hole I call it.
Great times! I was the video director on the tour. Lots of great memories ❤
Carl Ciadella Absolutely right, feel the same. :P
KISS fans love only one thing more than KISS, and that's complaining about and bashing KISS.
What are tou talking about? Eric has probably played more two hr shows than Pete at this point, and is still a monster on those drums he is also older than Pete was during the reunion
mike racicot
KISS fans need to get over the whole Ace and Peter thing.
This is one hell of a great concert to listen to:) thanks for the upload!!!
My God. Peter's timing is all over the road right out of the gate. Yikes!
Are you sure.......are you listening with a click or just full of yourself😮
KISS Gotta luv it
wow! I have many bootleg VHS from this tour and of course all the other reunion tour shows but this is by far the best one I've seen from the live shots to the sound it feels 'live' like
your there at the concert. I will add this to my collection and make my own dvd. KISS should remaster this video audio and put on the next KISSology! Great show.
Probably the best sound quality out of all the KISS concerts on youtube, nice work!
Always surprises me to see how lightly Criss hits the drums compared to a lot of rock drummers. I think he's a jazz guy at heart.
he's using triggers
His arms ached for the whole tour. He had to inmerse them in cold water after every show. That's why he plays like that.
LesPaul2006 Thanks. That makes sense in light of the other things I've read/heard since posting my comment.
Are you in your mid 60s
More like 75
The main difference between Peter and Eric is that while Eric has better endurance and technical chops, Peter has the IT factor.
Ace's 20 minute solo is amazing. Give it up to Ace.
Still watching these reunion videos in 2023 # I was at the Philadelphia Reunion show but to be honest , this Toledo Reunion video , kiss had more energy and the whole show was so so good.👍🏻😃❤️I loved this video. The Reunion Tour was so cool to see live.
Definitely the most iconic tour of kiss
Saw them twice that year in Greensboro and chapel hill north Carolina.....it was a blast from the past for sure

Keep in mind Gene had 10 years on them.
I saw them 3 times between '96-'98 and it was great to see them together again while they were still young Men for the most part. Peter was in his 50s(like I am NOW!)but he kept groovin'. The Springfield Civic Center show was the best out of the three,so awesome!
I love how this particular recording goes through some really psychedelic moments
Well this is taken from
The in house video feed. We get more effects on the Psycho Circus Tour
Rock on! 👏🏻🔥
Thank you Paul for keeping the band together.
I took my oldest son to this exact show. Was his first concert. He wore the Starchild makeup, was pretty excited about all the attention.
Oh my god my favourite band is queen I’ve never seen kiss perform live and I am gobsmacked my god they rock !
Awesome…thanks for sharing. It was a magical time seeing these shows in 96-97. I probably saw about 15 shows live. And if you got a bootleg VHS of a show…that was a score. And if it was ProShot???? You thought you hit the lottery! Great times.
this sounds like it was recorded right off the foh board...very cool
You might be right because some people say They can’t hear the audience in this recording. There’s another soundboard of KISS in Tokyo on January 31st 1995 and you can barely hear the audience on that one also. So I think you’re correct on this being a FOH recording
I love these soundboard recordings! You can't hear the crowd, only the band. Love it!!
Loved seeing KISS throughout the 70’s. Saw them in the old Sports Arena which was just a great place for concerts. Never saw anybody at Savage Hall where this is. Good memories!
The Sports-a-Hole! All the big bands came there in the 80s, so many fond memories.
@@Steve-dl6vm absolutely. Most of my favorite concerts took place there.
This might be the clearest sounding live KISS video I have seen and I have seen a lot of them
I loved the Reunion Tour and saw them on all of their original line-up reunion tours(Reunion and "Psycho Circus" and "Farewell").
For SURE!
One of the best sounding shows I've heard off of this tour (and I saw them in Boston for this tour). Awesome :) thanks for uploading!
Which night in Boston did you see? Because I found a video of KISS in Boston on July 31st 1996
I was in Boston for that first night, amazing show! I wish there was video!
3 of my top 5 favorite concerts of all time were KISS concerts.
One of my favorite reunion shows on You-Tube.....also... I loved this version of Cold Gin!!!!!
Great show here from that brief time between 96 and 98 when the magic returned.
I’m so glad i saw this tour twice, and that my last show was the actual farewell tour…. Heheheheh
59:00 is the coolest thing I've ever seen tbh. best intro to one of the best KISS songs
ROOM SERVICE, HARD LUCK WOMAN, MAKIN LOVE, I WANT YOU, and ROCK BOTTOM needed to be in the set too!
Nothing beats the original !
Kiss thanks a lot for many many good times God bless you all good health and happiness always rock on everybody🤘🎸🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🤘🥁🎹🎤❤️✌️❤️🇺🇦🎗🗽🎸
Hands downs Ace is the best guitarist that ever lived!
This was at the Toledo Sports Arena the best place to see a concert.
This was at the University of Toledo Savage Hall. I took my daughter to it. She fell in love with them.
Savage Hall... no fireworks allowed.
This is the Kiss at it's best
You guys have been my hero since the early 70s paul standly.
My only three words are: SPACE WITH ACE!
Is realy a pleasure see Ace play a guitar !!!
exelente grupo, de lo mejor de todos los tiempos
no hay otro como ellos
Сильнейшие рокеры суперская группа рок 🎸 навсегда здорово 👍
i just saw kiss 1 hour ago it was awesome.
I'm going to see them on the 26th of August, I'm so hyped
+Nathan Toca i met them yesterday and had dinner with them! they also showed me they're instruments and dressing room.
Trev x I'm now jealous
Jude Schaub yea i got alittle extra from the band because it was my bday. Eric took me on stage and showed me his drum kit after they did the autographs. And they took me to the room where they eat dinner and i got to eat and talk with them.
i saw em in bridgeport in early september, great show as always
I have seen the band 35 times dating back to 1982. I have enough concert audio and video footage of them-all eras- to fill a small room. That being stated, THIS is a GREAT performance by ANY measure, and absolutely one of the best I’ve seen, or heard from the Alive Worldwide reunion tour! When the original lineup was on their game, they were the greatest rock band in the world. Period.
Nice show ...really clear and sharp...love the drums in back...engineer favoured the drums in this one
I think this is straight from the board - not sure this is the house mix
Pete's snare really is quiet.
+Westley P. Crawford no, they'd been on the road about a year when this concert was filmed .....
WE NEED TO BRING BACK MORE FUN BANDS LIKE KISS BIG HAIR BANDS WERE AWESOME
I am still writing music and performing problem is it's so hard to put a real live rock band together these days and most younger guys either have no talent or think they
are the 'star' when they haven't done anything. I've been in and out of bands and toured and recorded and yet it's still hard to find real rock n rollers these days.
@1:48:51 that kid with the ear protection...is like..holy crap I'm at a KISS concert! The look on his face is priceless! Good his father was smart enough to put those on him...
They were on point this night. Amazing.
So much better then KISS Live #1!
Yeah, it's the real guys!
Excellent screen shot. Saw them on this tour and they were great. You couldn't pay me to see Gene, Paul and the two imposters these days.
Holy shit, the solos, my ears are bleeding.
Ahhh... Savage Hall in my hometown, Toledo, OH. Formerly known as Centennial Hall, it is where the Toledo Rockets college basketball team plays. I have also seen there: Bob Dylan, Yes, The Firm, Rush, Robert Plant. Here's a little Kiss/Toledo trivia for you, they played their last gig with Criss on 12/16/ '79 at Toledo Sports Arena, which was demolished in '07.
Simply amazing...thank you!
Loved this lineup - Face Really, Creter Piss, Chaim Weitz, and Stan Pauley. They rocked!
This is the best Kiss show ive ever heard..
My dad went to this live show when he was in his college years when they turned all the speakers up he lost tons of hearing. My friend was going to see em live but it was post poned from covid (expected) everyone in my MS loves old rock from 70s to 2010 my MS rocks it would be helpful of you found when the turn up the speakers massively
I saw them when I was 20 and it was amazing
awesome..the sound recording on this is clean and crispy
the Musitrip...ARE YOU CRAZY ?? Peter Criss is one of the best Live solo innovators EVER And Space Ace can pull off a solo Like a boss. Half the pyrotechnics they used in the early years were centered around those 2. Audiophile Tubes hit the Nail on the head !!!! original 4 == TIMELESS
God, I can't believe I was so into them during high school.
THE BEST ON THE WORLD ....I migliori DEL mondo ......BIG KISS .....GRANDI LISS
Thank you for posting this video! This stuff smokes!
wow , I didn't really need the 10 second Gene Simmons balls close-up lol
docpotter33 that was more than 10 seconds homie 😂
@12:31 Funny shit!!
@@8mks1tm + 23 seconds to be exact.
I counted 17 seconds lol
True and the only Kiss. Finally I can watch and hear them normally. :P
HOLY TOLEDO! best. line, ever
Thank you so much fr sharing this!!
THESE ARE MY BOYS....ENOUGH SAID...
I have a video tape of this show, I was at it and had bought KISSTORY and the guy behind me said man you must be a huge KISS fan, I said hell yea. He said look straight over, see that little red light, I own a company that does bootleg KISS shows, give me your address and I will send ya a copy of this show. Low and behold several months later in the mail came a VHS tape of THIS show....HELL TO THE YEA....!
KISS. ANO DE 1997, COM Á VOLTA DE Ace Frehley ,e Peter Criss, muito bom......
Ace was the feel of KISS!
how can gene and paul say ace and peter were so shot out on this tour? they kicked ass.
one o the best audio quality Reunion Tour show
