I first saw Kiss on the TV in 1978 , I was 4 years old & Gene Simmons scared the Hell out of me, well they all scared me but of course through the years I grew to love KISS , but no band more deserving than KISS , the Peoples band
Damn right. I was listening to them in like 5th grade, my favorite. I moved on once the Mighty Van Halen came to be, but still love some KISS. The HOF is a joke. It's a joke that KISS took this long to get in. It's a joke that Van Halen wasn't a first-ballot HOF-er, but Green Day was? It's a joke that Judas Priest is just now getting in, and not even as a performer. Maiden still isn't in. Boston isn't in. Ozzy isn't in as a solo act, but Ringo Starr is, just because he was a Beatle, and Stevie Nicks is as a solo act? LOL I can go on and on, but the HOF is dead wrong. KISS should have been in on their first ballot.

That speech was totally ROCKING. Loving KISS for 40 years - it brought tears to my eyes. I felt so proud as if I were right there with them! No lineup will ever, ever compare to the original 4. Ace - you're this gal's hero. Loving you from NC.
Hey there, I'm a Tarheel girl who also has a special place in my heart for Ace! Did you read his book "No Regrets"? His mom's from NC too! I have a theory that this is where he gets his mojo from! :D
This is universally true! Think to a teenager in a little country in Italy in 1978, I listened to my heart instead to people laughing at me. We were right, weren't we?😊
If you were a teenager in the 70s and had a ticket to see kiss, you knew you were in for a great time!! I saw them I saw them three times that I could remember. That's simply because people respect Ace and Peter the most because their flaws make them real people and they never tried to be anything more whereas Gene and Paul's personality came off as egotistical like it's all about me! There ya go!
Well established that Ace was the most technically polished member of that lineup carried them until their demise in 1981. Common knowledge undisputed.
It's actually simple!!! Peter and Ace were amazing and fantastic and the real talent and heart and soul of the original lineup, no matter how Paul and Gene try to bash two living legends!!!!
Cuz they were the backbone of the band and much better musicians then Gene and Paul every KISS fan knows this and probably the reason they kicked them out of the band
I first saw KISS in 1975. I saw them again in 2017. Both times I left worn out and fulfilled thinking I got more than my moneys worth. I hope to see them again in ten years...
Vindication day. Proof that we fans were right all along. I watch this induction often cause it validates everything I've told all the naysayers all along. KISS are a damn great rock and roll band.
Hats off to gene for speaking of the other members who played with kiss. Kiss lived on because of those members and they deserve to be noticed. Good job gene!!!!!!!!!

Saw KISS back in 1980 as an 18 year old in my home city Brisbane Australia. To this day still the best concert performance I have ever been to. The rain held off until the concert finished then it absolutely pissed down. Now that’s influence 👏👏👏👏👏🇦🇺
My uncle took me to my first concert ever, a month after I turned 12 yrs. old in the summer of 1977. It was KISS and Cheap Trick, on the "Love Gun" tour.I still have the ticket stub - $7.50 Canadian.I have seen hundreds of shows since, and that show is still in my top 5
I saw Kiss for the first time on TV when I was 7, on the Paul Lynde Halloween Special. In three weeks, I will be seeing them for the last time, and I will be going with my daughter, who is even more excited than I am.
My favorite band ever and a HUGE thank you to Tom Morella introduction. When I was young boy I was picked on and beaten up for being a KISS fan. His speech brought tears to my eyes and I was so happy that after all the years of being overlooked, KISS has finally made it into the Rock and Roll HOF. They have done things no other band has ever done and have never gotten the praise they've deserved. KISS is the greatest American Rock band of all time. They and The Eagles are 1 and 1A. BEST INTRODUCTION EVER!

Long live Rock' n Roll !
They were the most important band in my life! I still love Ace Frehley to this day, he had a huge impact on my life from my childhood. I picked up my very first guitar because of him.
This was the very first band I loved. I was in the KISS Army, had every record, and played KISS Alive so much my record player gave out! I was Peter Criss for every Halloween and to this day still listen to it, and have the album cover on my basement wall as a keystone of my music room. KISS was an incredible influence in my life and gave me the power and strength to rise above societal norms and be who I am, not who everyone else wants me to be. Listening to KISS brought me to a place where everything was all right in my young teenager world. God love the original 4! The BEST! Thanks for posting this great induction KISS_FAN_JP
Still going but not strong. I began in 1978 , loved them immensely til about 2001 but the Farewell Tour should have been the last. Now they are a mere shell of what they used to be. They stayed around 20 years too long.
One of the best speeches I have ever heard. Great job Tom and thank you for entertaining gentlemen for 50 years. Ace, Paul, Gene and Peter well done my brothers. God Bless.
I am not a big fan of Kiss' music and antics, but truly admire their impact and endurance in the Rock world. Amazing induction speech from Tom Morello too.
"Over the past 41 years, KISS have earned 30 gold albums, including the four solo albums that were released simultaneously in 1978. The band has 14 platinum albums, with three going multi-platinum."
Thank you Gene, Paul, Chris and ace for the kick ass night at the Richfield coliseum in Richfield Ohio in 1976 and 1978. My brother ronald and sister Janice had a kick ass night. I just wish kiss would have a display in the rock n roll fame. I was very disappointed not to see anything. Us fans deserve to see something. Again, thank you kiss for the memories. I was also there in 1976 and 1978.... thank you brother ronald for taking us.

Thanks for the likes and your comment over my post, thanks for being a fan of mine 🥰
Once at the Capitol theater in Jersey the BEACON IN NEW YORK, AND THe Nassau coliseum in N.Y. THAT WAS A NEW YEARS EVE CONCERT! ME AND MY BROS DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO GET THERE BUT WE WEREN'T GOING TO LET THAT STOP US,, we had our fingers crossed, 🤞 that the car would make it. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE HAD A GREAT TIME KISS PUT ON A GREAT SHOW, BLUE OYSTER CULT, ÀND MOUNTAIN DID TOO! A GREAT TIME TO BE A TEEN in the70's ROCK-N-ROLL IS HERE TO STAY! 🎸🤘🤘✌️☮️👀
The original 4 are great, but if we go to musical and professional terms, best lineups were with Carr-Kulick and Singer-Thayer.
@saiyan135 Not even close!!! Peter and Ace were amazing and fantastic and the real talent and heart and soul of Kiss!!!!
The best speech, hands down, that can be given about KISS. I am proud to stand with my fellow Kiss Army member Tom Morello!
Paul's speech was pure class. Extremely well said.
Mitch Farkas - I agree. He was the best speaker of the 4 and had the most intelligent and substantive things to say.
I just finished reading his book. I never realized how intelligent he is!
It was palpable. :-)
To bad hes a douche bag
Pauls a jerk & the reason they didnt play
Unreal...unbelievable! Love how the crowd goes crazy for Ace and Peter!
Lol anyone notice how Peter and Ace got louder cheers than Paul and Gene? lmao
I didn't notice that. I noticed them all getting the same crowd reaction.
6:57 that band's fucking awesome and deserves to be in the rock and roll hall of fame!
No Paul and Gene greedy assholes kept it going for money!!! Peter and Ace will never be replaced, ever!!! They were the best two by far, and treated like stepchildren, team Peter and Ace always!!!
@@kevinchandler179 PETER AND ACE WERE REPLACED MANY MANY MANY TIMES FOR SOOOO MUCH BETTER!!!! THATS WHY WE STILL HAVE SUPER INTERNATIONAL KISS
@@LOUIS-np6be So much better than the Catman and Ace????? Lol Literally you are ridiculous, if it wasn't for Peter and Ace bailed them out the other two delusional idiots would be playing with Wicked fuckin Lester in scumbag apartment!!!!! Lol 🤦♂️
Nobody and I mean nobody can replace Peter and Ace!!!! Enough said
Justice served! After 40 years...great thing is that all original four are still ALIVE and doing well! Impressive introduction & message delivery by all of them.
When i first seen this i teared up i was so happy to finally see KISS inducted
Tom Morello made a KISS concert sound like the must-see that it is...
I CAN'T IMAGINE THE WORLD WITHOUT THEM...THEY ARE LIKE ANOTHER MOON !
That a world without hereos
Well Ace said he's from Outer Space.
Ace was my hero as a kid and he's always remained oddly odd, he makes me laugh, he's always been himself and he's still my favourite member of Kiss
Saw KISS back in 1980 as an 18 year old in my home city Brisbane Australia. To this day still the best concert performance I have ever been to. The rain held off until the concert finished then it absolutely pissed down. Now that’s influence 👏👏👏👏👏🇦🇺
'Actually, I'm a plummer." Love for Ace.
Well there is a piece of pipe backstage i would like to have you work on!
Tell me about it hahahaha!
P L U M B E R !!! SPELL CHECK!!
It took me 40 years but I had 4th row tickets, 2 Paul Stanley picks and was at the best rock show EVER. Come BACK SOON!!!
Me too! I was 12 as well. July 12, 1977. The Montreal Forum. ❤
What a frickin show!!@ Rush used to open for them
I saw Kiss for the first time on TV when I was 7, on the Paul Lynde Halloween Special.
Same here, an italian teenager in 1978. We listened to our hearts instead to those stupid people. And we were right! All the best from a Tuscany guy!✌
Deep purple for me
Good Band. But not better than TS
Thank you Tom. That is exactly who they are. You nailed it.
WHAT A SPEECH !!!!......................THAT TAKES THE CAKE, TRULY..... WELL DESERVED TOO. I'VE BEEN A FAN ALL MY LIFE.
Agreed Tom Morell was on fire, inspiring ,and historical knowledge of KISS.. formidable
Well Done Tom and Congratulations KISS
Kiss 💋 was my first concert 1977
I have seen them 4 times altogether
And I took my son when he was 9 years old 1987, 💋 he has seen them 3 times! So we are BIG VAN'S OF KISS 💋 ☮️💜🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Thanks for the likes and your comment over my post, thanks for being a fan of mine ❤❤😊
Tom Morello is awesomeness! KISS was my escape from reality and still takes me away on occasion... and vacation.
Awesome intro by Tom Morello. The fact that it took so long for KISS and Rush to get into the Hall of Fame, and that Deep Purple still isn't in it yet are 3 of the greatest travesties in rock and roll. Unbelievable.
Add Grand Funk Railroad to that list.
TOOK SO LONG BCUZ FOLKS ON THE COMMITTEE that were determined to keep them out and they were very public about that
GutterWorx310 Zoose now they want to forever keep out Motley Crue, another travesty perpetuated by assholes who want to write their version of history instead of how it was.........
eac 123 their lame excuse about Mötley is bcuz of the drugs and behavior they engaged in back in the day.. ridiculous!
@@eac1235 FACT!
God bless the original 4- Kiss and the legendary Eric Carr (RIP) 😙😍❤❤
Great introduction from Tom Morello he spoke the truth straight from and for all KISS fans worldwide in my opinion..nice to see my childhood hero's healthy and humble together!! Finally damn it finally!! ;)
Long live Rock' n Roll !
say what you want about kiss but they absolutely deserve to be in the rock and roll hall of fame
they should of been there long time ago my favorite band of all time never be another band like them love them
No matter what anyone says these guy's will always be the best rock band, love you guy's KISS RULE!!💋👅💖
Next to my parents Kiss has been the most stabilizing and enduring presence in my life. Kiss fan from age 2 to the day I die!
They wear their sunglasses at night. Awesome band.
Amazing rock group. Popular since 1972. It is now 2020 and they are still going strong!
They are horrible live
@@eh5872 Go have your head examined
Highest selling American rock band in history!!! 2nd Highest in live shows!!!
Still going but not strong. I began in 1978 , loved them immensely til about 2001 but the Farewell Tour should have been the last. Now they are a mere shell of what they used to be. They stayed around 20 years too long.
They were not going strong with impostors, disrespectful to Peter and Ace!!!
One of the best speeches I have ever heard. Great job Tom and thank you for entertaining gentlemen for 50 years. Ace, Paul, Gene and Peter well done my brothers. God Bless.
I saw there first concert in NYC, first album. Blew my Fn mind.
Love this group.I remember getting a t-shirt and making my own "Kiss" shirt using lots of glitter. Those were the days, back in the 70's.
Kiss has always put the fans first and that’s what makes them the most significant rock n roll band in its still young history of being a genre
They certainly earned their induction!... Way to go guys!
And THAT is how you induct KISS into the Hall! Fantastic speech!
It is so like Paul to have the last word. KISS is, and always will be those 4 standing on stage.
Paul was talking out her ass it seems. He does that alot. Gene too
I am not a big fan of Kiss' music and antics, but truly admire their impact and endurance in the Rock world. Amazing induction speech from Tom Morello too.
Paul’s speech was great. Thanking his fellow artists in front of him as inspiration and thanking his fans he inspired
That speech gave me the strongest goosebumps ever
Thank you Tom!!! I'm in tears.
Tom did make an amazing introduction speech!!! One of the best I have ever heard!!!
Best speech ever given at the rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Passionate, Descriptive, Funny, and Honest, all in one speech
KISS rocked MANY a music fan's world 'back in the day', and continue to do so!
"Over the past 41 years, KISS have earned 30 gold albums, including the four solo albums that were released simultaneously in 1978. The band has 14 platinum albums, with three going multi-platinum."
Geddy isn't lying...KiSS put on the absolute best show I've ever seen!
Few RRHOF speeches have moved my heart... Flea inducting Metallica, Foo Fighters inducting Rush, David Letterman inducting Pearl Jam, Paul McCartney inducting Ringo Starr, and others, but this one have something else that's it can be explained with words.
It took long enough.... was so disappointed they didn't get to jam!😯 I love this group!!!! 🤘
Kiss best band ever, 50 years of glory 🎸🔥
I get goosebumps and tears swell in my eyes when I hear this speech. Tom Morello is legit !!!
KISS deserved this award a while ago! So many good albums in the seventies!
That was such an awesome video! I was obsessed with KISS when I was a little kid. They're the reason why I started playing drums! I am so happy for them!
