Toyotas are famous for there legendary strength in the 8" solid axle...I've seen them survive with 35" tires,lockers, and a good driver. Pound for pound one of the best axles. I had a set in my flat fender, and caught alot of crap but rarely caught a sweat changing axles..crazy...

We’re slowly building a dune runner, trying to build off a solid foundation so for that reason, I’m having the electrical done first to support all the prerunner essentials
I might get a jeep rubicon tj tomb raider edition but I want to build something awesome I currently have a 2007 jeep jk 4 door I just don't know what to do 😭
I don’t think you do lol. I got quoted $7,800 for a sas with a bare g2 axle. And there would be a lot more needed after that....like gears and gussets etc. I would guess around the $10-$15k range without the cage

awesome build man im looking to convert my 06 limited v8 awd but wanted to keep it overland and not specifically rock crawler... any additional advice if im looking to run the same oe axel up front with coils no leafs and leaving the rear stock oem? im looking for proper ride height and to fit larger than my 34"s and remove the weak point of the CVs as you too have experienced its a pain in the ass haha just fits my needs and reliability for my usage thanks!
Fact of the matter is even with the 4link king bypass shocks custom solid axle housing and custom axles, it's still cheaper than a custom long travel IFS..TLlhe stock stuff would still have to go..best of both worlds,kinda ...

@@jackmossman7559 when I did tons and 40s on my 3rd gen everybody told me to do leafs on the rear. I was in the same boat as this guy (mind you this was 10 years ago) but there were no parts to make the links and coils long enough to do what I needed and clear a stock gas tank.
@@dankoldenhoven4997 yea 10 years ago is definitely a different time. today it’s so easy, ruff stuff has all the brackets and then some 16 or 18 inch kings with a correct length pan hard would make the rear boogy just fine. Crazy how far stuff has come and simpler to build
@@jackmossman7559 that's no joke companies are making it way easier now. I'm in the process of building another yota now... I hated every non yota part on that truck so I got rid of it. I had a kingpin 60 front with 35 spline cr-mo's and 300m u joints... that would just twist off. Without even wheeling that hard.

I wanna get a first gen taco ext cab linked front and rear and a clean interior cage on some 40s. Nothing beats yotas
Hence half the people who own a off-road truck pay a shop to do work at some point. Some people aren't lucky to have space to build there trucks. Might want to pull you head out of your ass and not talk shit on people you don't know. If you followed him on IG you'd know he actually does 90% of his own work
@@jobama3588 Ive seen hundreds. Builds are usually expensive, this isn't quite as bad as many of those but still, OP doesn't even tell you how many hours of his life he spent doing this, and if he did he'd probably be discounting it heavily.
Dean is one of the real ones. Honestly, every time his dad, his brother and him join our camp out in Lucerne, it's ALWAYS a blast.

I double triangulated the rear of my 3rd gen but 3 linked with a panhard up front due to clearance.. good luck with the build

It is. If it was already linked it just needed better arms. There’s a 4th gen 4runner with links and bypasses In the rear and it kills it
