  • After 364 days of design, development and testing, it was finally time to launch Summit V1. An array of problems caused chaos on the day, leading to a fire breaking out on the launch pad and quickly spreading to the lower rocket. Luckily, I had a fire extinguisher close by and was quick to put out the fire before it did more damage! I will be repairing the damage and fixing the problems as fast as possible, I am targeting a second try by the end of this month.

Rocket science is easy... rocket engineering is hard! Keep up the great work. :) Subscribed.

Oh man! That's too bad :( and it technically wasn't your fault either. I hope you can get it up and running fast and wish you the best! Also I liked the editing of the video!

On the brightside you gained much experience and also know what and why these failures accoured. Stay on it and good luck next time!

I made a mandrel (mould) out of PVC pipe and MDF spacers. Wrapped that in non-stick paper and coated it in epoxy resin. Then wrapped the carbon fabric around it, adding resin each layer and using a squeegee to remove all air bubbles. Then wrapped the final product in peel ply which soaks up excess resin. Then a lot of sanding and a nice clear coat to get the final finish of the tube!

Within a month hopefully, repairs are going fast so there is a small chance I may try again this weekend!

passably change your procedure so that you wait 4 seconds from last bit of thrust hurd till you run at the rocket with fire putty outy thing
