Welcome back my friends to another crazy week of astounding updates around all things space. As has become the norm, it has been action packed. SpaceX Finally Unveiled an Unexpected Starship Flight 4 Timeline, and also breaking updates have just been released on the launch date. Outside of that Falcon 9 action with some secretive twists. Blue Origin was back for their first crewed mission in a long time, but yikes, there was a twist to that one as well. There is a lot of great stuff to dive into, and let's face it, there’s no stopping the push for progress when it comes to spaceflight these days. Let's jump into it.

Someone should collect a history of all the RGV Aerial Photography photos from one angle and put them together into a timelapase from before Star Hopper to now. I'd love to see how Starbase has grown over the years in a short timelapse.

Great idea! Maybe convert the land into a model by photogrammetry, then create the frame sequence. 😅

I realize it's part of the sales pitch, but I get irrationally annoyed when I hear Blue Origin call their space tourists "astronauts." For the recent flight, only Ed Dwight deserves that honor.

@@ryanlavender2411 That's a good rabbit hole to go down. Cross checked shipping lanes with the landing zone could give some results on that.
Would love it if they sent a couple of small drone ships to the anticipated landing zones with cameras to capture the landings.

It took twenty flights before falcon landed (including previous variants like block 1), meanwhile they might land in flight 5 for starship.

I went to Starbase this past week. It was AMAZING! I enjoyed a picnic with my wife on the beach (at N1) next to the end of the road. It was a nice picnic with a fantastic view -- of both the gulf AND the Starship Superheavy.

They’re going to have to fit the hot staging ring with parachutes in future to keep Starship’s fully reusable image intact.
Hmmm, if the chutes can survive the Starship burn that's not a bad idea. You'd also need floats for recovery.
My guess is the next block of booster will be balanced with the hotstaging ring in mind
It's likely just a stopgap measure because the weight and balance can be addressed from the beginning in future iterations. For now they're just trying to focus on a successful splashdown rather than a complete redesign that would take who knows how long to implement.
Naah it will be one of this discarded things you'll just have to live with - He'll probably use a Gigapress in the future just to quickly stamp them out. Chances are that it is warped from the heat anyways, and unusable.

Marcus , I couldn’t help but notice your collection of Space paraphernalia behind you on your shelves is going in size ! What a nice collection, you have quite a few new and older space ship models. I also like seeing Star hopper in these reports , Instill remember the first time that took flight, look where we are now in such a short time.

Last evening Fri, May 24th, about an hour after sunset in the Texas hillcountry west of San Antonio, I walked outside and saw a short, funny looking, vertical line of stars just above the western horizon... Over the next few minutes that line began to approach and separate until it was just north of directly over my head, where I counted 23 Starlink satellites until they each blinked out of sight as they lost the sun's light! Magnificent!
