Ghostbusters 2 is one of my favorite movies. I can't count how many times I've watched it. I could recite the whole movie line by line. There are a LOT of movies especially being made now that are nowhere as good as the original Ghostbusters. @ wstine79 I have that comic book in my Ghostbusters collection at home. The reason why it has The Real Ghostbusters is due to the fact that getting the movie actors likeness was too expensive for NOW comics. It is really neat to see how much the script changed from the draft used in the comic book adaptation. Really wish that scene had been filmed and completed, it would have made Vigo even more memorable.
Have you ever seen "Plan 9 from outer space" ? It is said to be "The Worst Film of All Time". I bought it on DVD (just to say "I have it on DVD".) But I swear... It's sooo Bad! I haven't been able to say I've finished watching it... Like a train-wreck. (So bad, It killed the star, Bela Lugosi ) Did you finish watching the entire Ghostbusters remake?
@Reginald Andrews i would rather cut my clitbox off and pour freshly squeezed lemon juice in to the open wound left behind than re-watch even 1 minute of the recent ghostbusters reboot. There was even a fanmade ghostbusters movie on youtube from about 8 years ago that was more like a proper cannon Ghostbusters movie than the shit Hollywood spewed out of its fetted festering fadge.
You said it. Besides the two Ghostbusters movie, we also had The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, Rocky III and IV, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Land Before Time, Gremlins, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Thing, Back to the Future 1 and 2, Child's Play, The Little Mermaid, The Terminator, The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppets Take Manhattan, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Little Shop of Horrors, Beetlejuice, Bad Taste, Little Monsters, the '89 Batman film, Flash Gordon, The NeverEnding Story, The Great Mouse Detective, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, Meet the Feebles, Superman II, III, and IV, and Howard the Duck (actually, forget the last two...)
I don't give a damn what anyone says, this movie is just as good as the first one. One of the rare few, to be sure. Also the reason I hate he man. I wish the Ghostbusters would show up at my party. Ungrateful little yuppies larva. But still, great movie. Thanks for the great video.
Well done sir! Just found your channel last week and have already binge watched several. Your commentary on this one was on point. Excellent work. Also excellent soundtrack. I highly recommend you to my friends as an authority on great old films. Kudos to you and long live your channel.
Tha Ruthless 1_ AZF But Return to Oz came out 30 years after the original, and the Fly 2 was a sequel of a remake, pretty much the same rehashing we hear about today
I agree, 1989 was a great year for movies. GB 2, Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, Licence To Kill, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Back To The Future Part II, Batman and more. Ghostbusters II was the first movie I watched more than once in the cinema during its original release and both times it was a blast.
I loved part 2 as well as part one ,did you know 1990's ninja turtles 2 secret of the ooze has the same underground train station as in Ghostbusters 2 so technically the turtles new lair has the ghost train ironically that's where the river of slime passed through 👻
I thought that was how they intended for it to be, kinda like how the Back to the Future game was meant to be seen as sort of a Back to the Future Part IV.
If the game had been a movie, people would have hated it for repeating all the ideas from the first two movies. It is a great game, but as a movie it probably wouldn't work at all.
soulagent79, there is a resurgence of criticism against Ghostbusters II where they now claim IT is nothing but repeating the same plot of the original. And because of these criticisms, people who used to love the movie just fine are no longer enjoying it,... because of things OTHER PEOPLE SAY. That is what I hate the most about a lot of these overly-critical, or "everything wrong with" TH-cam reviews,... they entice people to dislike things they otherwise enjoyed before.
Don't get me wrong, I love GB II, even though people keep telling me it's bad, since I saw it for the first time back in 1989. I think it's original and in some aspects it is even a bit better than the first movie. The video game on the other hand is so great just because it brings back so many characters and places from the movies.
I'm pretty sure there are more people who love it than there are who hate it. Honestly, I never heard anything bad about it until recent years. Sure, Bill Murray has something bad to say about all the movies he's made that I enjoy. But it seems like some asshole on the internet was like "Ghostbusters 2 sucks" and people just rolled with it.
Sargent: Lieutenant, you better talk to this guy. Lieutenant: I'm busy. Sargent: It's the Commander at Lakehurts Navy Base. Lieutenant: The commander? What's the problem? Sargent: He says the Hindenburg's just landed.

Last year, Hank Deutschendorf, one of the twins whom played baby Oscar committed suicide. According to his brother Will, Hank had been suffering from mental problems. I thought that sad news to hear. Another life gone too soon. Henry "Hank" Deutschendorf 1988 - 2017 RIP
Aaaarghh! My favorite Ghost busters! Made my Summer of 89 more memorable! Both the original and sequel make for happy feelings with all that great music and comedic content!
Did you know that the ghostbusters 2 history arc makes much more sense if you play the playstation 2012 game, they explained why of the slime in the city, and as a funny fact vigo is just tagging along for a ride!!! The game actually works as a 3rd part!!!
actually bro that game released in 2009 not 2012. I got the PC version and it clearly says Copyright for 2009 , and I know it releases on all palttforms at the same time (xbox 360 , PlayStation 3, and PC ) a I think there was a wii version that got released later but I may be wrong on that one.
There was a Wii version and a DS version. The DS version is VERY different in gameplay style. But at least you can drive Ecto-1. But they're talking about removing it from canon.
Ace Ventura 1&2 had this problem. Both had a Saturday cartoon in between as the first movies were popular with adults and kids. So since the merchandise sales were in favor of a more kids based movie. Hurt the movies critically but both still had great writing and cast so they worked.
@@bryskyline Yup. Men in Black had the same problem. The existence of the cartoon caused the film to shift their tone to be more kid friendly for a wider audience. MIB 2 sucks though.
When I first saw GB2 in the theaters, I thought it was just OK, but when I recently rewatched it after all these years, I found that it held up and was really quite good.
What movie is that then because in my world the only Ghostbusters movies that exist are the original's 1984 and 1989. Depending on what Ghostbusters: Afterlife is like then that will decide on whether that one exists as well.
I actually liked it better to, It also scared the living daylights out of me and gave me nightmares as a kid from the demonic voice calling Winston's name
Except Ghostbusters 3 will be the surviving actors playing their roles as mentors to the next generation of Ghostbusters. Just like how extreme Ghostbusters had Egon as the mentor which actually is ironic to the franchise going forward.
Bill Murray said he would come back if they killed off his character; thinking they never would. Now that egon has passed away, I predict that the story of the third movie will involve egons death being spoken about invoking some super natural event related to the plot line and the same fate or similar happening to peter during the movie.
When I was little I loved to watch Garfield, and one day my mum was watching Ghostbusters. Straight away I recognized Bill Murray's voice and started watching it with her. My mum was hesitant to let me watch it as some scenes were abit scary, so she told me to not watch it. Shed let me watch the goonies and in the scene where sloths face is shown for the first time I'd hide behind the couch coz I thought it was scary. I some how got hold of the Ghostbusters DVD when my mum wasnt at home and put it on the DVD player. I watched it and fell in love, it was the double set so I watched the second one too. I got a little scared when the Scolari brothers came on the screen, but other than that it became my number 1 childhood movie. Still slightly confused as to how I found Ghostbusters less scary...
I'd always thought that "Ghostbusters 2" was a good movie, even if it wasn't as good as the first Ghostbusters movie In fact, both of these movies are better than that pitiful excuse for a remake that came out in 2016
GB 2 is a bit underrated. The only real problem I have with it is having Dana as a plot device. She was the focus in the first movie and they ended up repeating that in 2. The only other issue I have is the ending. It had a significant build-up but then fell flat. They also could have done more with the Slime. Imagine if Vigo could have summoned ghosts from the slime to keep the Busters busy. Louis trying to fight off a ghost outside the museum would have been hilarious!
I also think they could have had Gozer return (they decided to wait until this year to do it and made a better movie out of it) or they could have some other a better ghost/human antagonist. The other way I could have seen it working has been featured in the Fanscription on Channel Awesome. Like Dana and Peter together throughout the movie and Dana's pregnant
@Seven Oceans the trailer wasn't even out when you wrote that comment, you were judging it based on your own pessimistic assumptions, and based on the trailer that is out now I think it actually looks pretty good
@@DJ_Maysonic After seeing the trailer, he doesn't seem that far off. It doesn't look great imo, but will give it a chance. No interest in watching a little kids movie though, which is how it looks atm.

I agree with you Minty… G2 is awesome. I didn’t even know people disliked it until the media around the 2016 reboot started popping up. I think it’s such a shame they didn’t carry on and do a G3 but them’s the brakes.
I felt this way as a kid, especially coming from getting into Ghostbusters through the cartoon (which is still fantastic and holds up great) But now, I absolutely prefer the original over 2 for the comedy and the greater subtlety of it all. I still absolutely love both though, and I'll always defend Ghostbusters 2! I feel like it gets a bad rep and is underrated like that just for not being seen as as good as the original, just like Back to the Future part 3 as well.
RIP Ivan Reitman. You made a huge mark on my life. Growing up enjoying your movies is an amazing experience that I share with countless other 80s kids. Thank you & we'll see you on the other side.
@@bofo85 For me i think that the Prequel where missing direction, i respect Gorges but hes not a very good director. But he tried the best he can, with the skill he got and envision the movie he wanted to see. From Gorges Lucas mouth, the movie i like to see are usually not the kind of movie people want to see.
Technically there is a Ghostbusters 3 with Bill Murray. The video game. It was written by Dan and Harold, staring the original Ghostbusters cast and is canon and Dan counts it as the third.
I don't understand why people say Ghostbusters 2 sucks because I thought it was awesome back in 1989 as a 4 year old and still to this day in 2020 as a 35 year old. In fact I'd actually go as far to say that I enjoyed Ghostbusters 2 more than the original 1984 Ghostbusters.
Ghostbusters was my childhood and when Ghostbusters afterlife came out I wasn't disappointed one bit! It was everything I wanted it to be! I'm looking forward to the new one! 😊
As a 10 year old seeing this at the cinema in 1989 was amazing, the more I view the film the more I like it, you take on its flaws because for a film that seemed to be pressured into making by the studio it's a great film, that courtroom scene is amazing with the scoleri brothers and like the first film it plays to the same beats, the script isn't as funny but like this video explains this was made on the back of The Real Ghostbusters animated series so it was toned down somewhat, saying that I feel it has quite a few creepy scenes, when Janosz first gets possessed in the museum and when he walks away from Dana's apartment and his eyes glow down the darkened corridor, the whole underground abandoned railway scene with Winston and the severed heads on spikes and the intense ending with Vigo really making the baby cry for real is pretty creepy and menacing, in some ways it's more menacing than the first, Vigo wanting to take over the body of a baby and become reborn is all the more disturbing, also the history of Vigo on how he was shot, stabbed, hung drawn and quartered has an eerie air to it, the bathtub scene is pretty creepy but then visually quite tongue in cheek when the bath tub tries to grab Dana and Oscar, Oscar climbing out onto the edge of the window ledge with Janosz appearing from the sky to snatch Oscar is pretty damn scary, it's still a good blend of action, comedy horror and Sci Fi just like the first and it does a great job of finding a realistic way of the guys moving off to do regular jobs after the events of the first film, the opening sequence with Dana's carrage taking off down the street and stopping in front of an incoming bus is still one of my favourite openings to a film that gears you up for the rest of the movie
Same here, I remember seeing this at the cinema when I was 8 or 9 and still remember the experience from that day. I was barely old enough to appreciate the first Ghostbusters and only remembered certain scenes particularly the scene with Mr Stay Puft after only after seeing the movie once or twice around 1987, I wasn't old enough to understand the humor. As am adult I understand why GB1 is the superior movie but GB2 will always be my favourite, partly because of the Nostalgia
Ghostbusters is a Masterpiece and my favorite film from the 80s Ghostbusters 2 is not as good but still Brilliant in my opinion Ghostbusters 3 is Ghostbusters the video game... It's a very good game and I just wish it had been Ghostbusters 3 the movie... I forget Ghostbusters 2016 ever happened, the Trailer was enough for me to know I will never ever see it!!!
I personally think Ghostbusters 2 had a better script in terms of in-depth information about the particle physics of it all. We learned a lot and the guys all got to talk more.
The late 80s n the 90s was the best years for movie n tv shows. They could get away with putting rated R or PG13 material in a PG show or movie. Unlike now days ehh
I remember Critters 2 being pg-13, with violence, blood, gore, and naked boobs... nowadays all the blood has to be toned down, or it's cutaway deaths, not gonna see nudity, and then get 1 fuck... times have changed.

Speaking of the Ray possession, that scenario was featured in the comic book tie in to Ghostbusters 2. Ironically that starred The Real Ghostbusters.
wstine79 and he was possessed again in the video game
@ wstine79 I have that comic book in my Ghostbusters collection at home. The reason why it has The Real Ghostbusters is due to the fact that getting the movie actors likeness was too expensive for NOW comics. It is really neat to see how much the script changed from the draft used in the comic book adaptation.
Really wish that scene had been filmed and completed, it would have made Vigo even more memorable.
Yep I had it. Winston punches Ray to stop him killing them all. Always mystified why the subplot was in the comic but barely touched on in the film
Preach on! Ghostbusters II is a great film and another great Minty review.
Max Von Sydow also played the villain in the 80's cinema masterpiece, "Strange Brew" . he was the evil Brewmeister of the Elsinore Brewery.
Awesome video man!! I love Ghosbusters 2. I feel like it's a seriously underrated movie.
All kinds of YES!!!
I think REAL fans of Ghostbusters like them both, whereas perhaps, casual fans don't really like the 2nd one that much??
I love Ghostbusters 2. It's 10 times better than the remake.
I had diarrhoea this morning and it was 10x better than the recent remake.
Isabelle Drennan Lol completely agree.
Dog shit is better than the all female remake!
The 1980's in general was a great decade of movies.
@@tysargent9647 There’s no accounting for Bad Taste. I’ve seen about a third of those movies, but sure, a lot of movies came out over those 10 years.

In the fur coat scene. When the coat comes
Alive it looked like a bunch of anger ferrets.
Those are minks since it's a mink coat. They look a lot like ferrets.
Creeped me out as kid!! 😱🥴
1989 WAS a great year, Minty! Thanks for another fab video
it was full of sequels, and people complain about sequels these days as if it was a new thing
greenrobot5 so true
greenrobot5 yea but it wasn't sequels 25 years after the original
Tha Ruthless 1_ AZF But Return to Oz came out 30 years after the original, and the Fly 2 was a sequel of a remake, pretty much the same rehashing we hear about today
I agree, 1989 was a great year for movies. GB 2, Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, Licence To Kill, Honey I Shrunk The Kids,
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Back To The Future Part II, Batman and more. Ghostbusters II was the first movie I watched more than once in the cinema during its original release and both times it was a blast.
I loved part 2 as well as part one ,did you know 1990's ninja turtles 2 secret of the ooze has the same underground train station as in Ghostbusters 2 so technically the turtles new lair has the ghost train ironically that's where the river of slime passed through 👻
I really liked this movie. I loved when the Statue of Liberty came to life.
The Ghostbusters game could be considered to be Ghostbusters 3, I certainly do.
I thought that was how they intended for it to be, kinda like how the Back to the Future game was meant to be seen as sort of a Back to the Future Part IV.
Charlie Harper me too but I don't think they ever officially said it was.
GB2 is a great movie. I'd say almost as good as the original GB
lol it’s not. but it’s still cool
I remember seeing this at the pics
Vigo you still creep me out 😁
1989 I was 8
Same...and same age...remember watching this in theaters. Cant wait for Ghostbusters afterlife
Me too. I was 8. My dad took me and my brother to watch Ghostbusters 2 and BTTF 2 on the same night. One of the best nights of my life.
I was 5
And now you're old, but still have the IQ of an 8 year old.
I actually like the 2nd one better than the 1st. I realize I'm in the minority, but that's how I feel.
You're not alone. Both movies are great, but I enjoy the second one more. Vigo and Janosz really stole the show.
I agree with you, I always enjoyed the 2nd movie more
Haha. Same. I've always liked the 2nd one better.
I like the fisrt
As a kid I always liked the 2nd one more, because it had more action. 1st was a little slow to me. As a Adult it's hard to choose.
Dont care Ghostbusters 2 is still classic to me
Jose Navarro same here
I'm pretty sure there are more people who love it than there are who hate it. Honestly, I never heard anything bad about it until recent years. Sure, Bill Murray has something bad to say about all the movies he's made that I enjoy. But it seems like some asshole on the internet was like "Ghostbusters 2 sucks" and people just rolled with it.
Facts!!! Definitely is!
Who is looking forward to seeing Ghostbusters Afterlife?
🤔
I do. It looks great. Fun fact: its directed and written by the originals directors son!
@ March 5, 2021, that’s the release date!
@@jacksprofessionalproductio9403 Thanks. Marked it on my Calendar
I'm hoping the surviving cast makes some sort of cameo, but I am excited for Afterlife.
I saw Ghostbusters 2 in the theatre when it came out. It was bad ass. I was 6.
I was 7 then. Freaked me out as a kid, especially the ghost Yanosh nanny that snatches Oscar. Lol
I was around 5 or 6 too. I remember thinking Vigo was creepy as fuck
I saw it too. I was also 6!
Couldn't agree more, I was 8 when I watched this at the movies, loved it then and still love it now
Same - it made me scared of the dark! Yanosh and his maglite eyes down the hallway... love it
This was the 1st Ghostbusters movie i seen loved it, i think both are great, really wish we could have had a proper Ghostbusters 3😭.
I liked Gozer better. Sometimes a lack of motivation gives villains more mystique and imo makes them more intimidating, the fear of the unknown.
Sargent: Lieutenant, you better talk to this guy.
Lieutenant: I'm busy.
Sargent: It's the Commander at Lakehurts Navy Base.
Lieutenant: The commander? What's the problem?
Sargent: He says the Hindenburg's just landed.
Dan and Harold didn't want anybody to screw up their legacy. Then somehow Paul feig got a hold of the franchise.
Yeah, & he ended up screwing up their legacy, as far as I'm concerned.
I don't view as screwing up the franchise as that is not in the same universe, so the 80s GB is still pretty safe and secure.
The Ladybusters is not really part of the source material universe, more like I view it as an alternate reality
One that kinda sucks as the girls have no idea what to do about garnering money for their research
That whole saga is explained on the Midnight's Edge channel. Check it out.
Remakes dont effect Legacies of great Franchises. Why do people like to think this?
I saw this movie in theaters when I was 6 years old. I do like the first one better, but love this one as well. Never understood the hate for this.
Last year, Hank Deutschendorf, one of the twins whom played baby Oscar committed suicide. According to his brother Will, Hank had been suffering from mental problems. I thought that sad news to hear. Another life gone too soon.
Henry "Hank" Deutschendorf
1988 - 2017

Daniel Williamson that’s so sad 😞. I bet Will is having a hard time without his twin. Thanks for letting us know.
That's sad.
That is and was so sad, tragic and awful.RIP,Hank Deutschendorf.:-(:-(:-O:-O:-(
I found and contacted Will on Facebook and told him how sorry I was about Hank and he appreciated my message.
Ghostbusters 2 is an amazing film. One of my favourites ever.
Laura Gonzalez good game but still rather have a movie. Not everyone plays the game.
freakin loved the atmostphere and the haunted objects you could collect. ^^ + the idea of being "the new guy":
actually bro that game released in 2009 not 2012. I got the PC version and it clearly says Copyright for 2009 , and I know it releases on all palttforms at the same time (xbox 360 , PlayStation 3, and PC ) a I think there was a wii version that got released later but I may be wrong on that one.
The video game is fantastic just for the storyline alone. Certainly cannon to the films
There was a Wii version and a DS version. The DS version is VERY different in gameplay style. But at least you can drive Ecto-1.
But they're talking about removing it from canon.
first movie = great for adults
2nd movie = great for kids
Remake= not great for anybody
Ace Ventura 1&2 had this problem. Both had a Saturday cartoon in between as the first movies were popular with adults and kids. So since the merchandise sales were in favor of a more kids based movie. Hurt the movies critically but both still had great writing and cast so they worked.
All Ghostbusters movies and shows... GREAT... PERIOD!
@@bryskyline Yup. Men in Black had the same problem. The existence of the cartoon caused the film to shift their tone to be more kid friendly for a wider audience. MIB 2 sucks though.
First and second movie: great for everyone
Third (or should I say turd): didn't bother to watch it.
"Suck in the guts guys we're the Ghostbusters." 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
When I first saw GB2 in the theaters, I thought it was just OK, but when I recently rewatched it after all these years, I found that it held up and was really quite good.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game from 2009 is the official/unofficial Ghostbusters 3.
The only Ghostbusters movie that sucks is the 2016 version.
That SNL Sketch? There was no Movie ^^
@@derstrohmann7450 oh yeah..My bad.
That ain,t a ghost busters movie
What movie is that then because in my world the only Ghostbusters movies that exist are the original's 1984 and 1989.
Depending on what Ghostbusters: Afterlife is like then that will decide on whether that one exists as well.
what will the new one be n do u think it will suck maybe
Am I the only one who loves the second one more than the original ? 👏
Orbis Non Sufficit 1994 actually no, you’re not.
No, love this way more.
No you are NOT! I loved this movie and still do!
I actually liked it better to, It also scared the living daylights out of me and gave me nightmares as a kid from the demonic voice calling Winston's name
Ghostbusters 2 is my favorite movie of all time I love the first one as well but I love 2 a little more so no brother you aint the only one
Yeah
That entitled kid talking smack about Ghostbusters
He's directing the 3rd one…
I heard the third movie was going to be about the Ghostbusters in Hell, that would be cool :)
@@stephaniebeeboo2793 Anything works, it's sad the whole cast isn't around anymore but after the stinker that was GB 2016 anything will seem great.
@@stephaniebeeboo2793 the 2009 video game was essentially the 3rd movie Dan Aykroyd wanted to make
When I was little I loved to watch Garfield, and one day my mum was watching Ghostbusters.
Another great classic. Cmon do the truffle shuffle cmon.
Goonies Never Die.
Minty is a great way to start the day!
As an artist, I LOVE Ghostbusters 2, How many movies have a haunted painting in them..?
TheFlipped1 Play the video game. You can find the painting in the Firehouse and talk to it. The Playstation 3 version that is.
Oh I have. 😁
8:52 fun fact: Ray was sporting a mustache when he cameoed in Casper
Probably because of the coloring book lol
GOD, Vigo's voice STILL sends chills down my spine to this day!
I'd always thought that "Ghostbusters 2" was a good movie, even if it wasn't as good as the first Ghostbusters movie
In fact, both of these movies are better than that pitiful excuse for a remake that came out in 2016
Well, better late then never
GB 2 is a bit underrated.
True. Too much Dana . 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
"Two in the box, ready to go. We be fast and they be slow!"
Also, funny enough
Jason is directing Ghostbusters 3.
and his plan for the third is make movie with ghostbusters kids in a town 😕
But it takes place back in the original ghostbusters universe with the same comedy-horror tone, so its got that going for it.
@@wallacewallaby5782 what part of the trailer screamed "little kids movie"? Because that is not what it looks like to me at all
I'm sorry but this film is vastly underrated. It's almost as good as the other one that exists. [Ben]
I love both of the ghostsbuster movies. I still watch them now. Thank you.
At least it's better then the 2016 one
even THE ROOM and PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE are better than the 2016 version ...
Nick Gearin exactly
The demonic form of Vigo is played by Dan Akroyd. So there are three actors portraying Vigo
Love your content you provide me and other's with things we probably don't know about these movies thanks for all the hard work be blessed always peace
Fact 11: Donald Trump and Christopher Reeve appear in one of the music videos for Ghostbusters 2.
Ed_ward That music video is "On Our Own" by Bobby Brown and can be found on TH-cam very easily. It's also an extra on the Ghostbusters 2 Blu Ray.
Michael obama is a Man. I call him Micheal obama
Thank you Minty, I love Ghostbusters 2 so much
I agree with you Minty… G2 is awesome. I didn’t even know people disliked it until the media around the 2016 reboot started popping up. I think it’s such a shame they didn’t carry on and do a G3 but them’s the brakes.
im 36 and i still like this one more than the 1st one tbh...
I'm i the only one that liked GhostBusters 2 more than GhostBusters 1 as a kid? I just felt there was more ghoulies in the second than the first.
TwilightRO1 number 1 had the marshmallow man, 2 had slimer though
I felt this way as a kid, especially coming from getting into Ghostbusters through the cartoon (which is still fantastic and holds up great)
But now, I absolutely prefer the original over 2 for the comedy and the greater subtlety of it all. I still absolutely love both though, and I'll always defend Ghostbusters 2! I feel like it gets a bad rep and is underrated like that just for not being seen as as good as the original, just like Back to the Future part 3 as well.
Yup as a kid, I did. There was more going on and more effects.
Nah 2 was better.
Thats pretty much the reason why I like 2 a bit more than the first one, even to this day. ^^
RIP Ivan Reitman. You made a huge mark on my life. Growing up enjoying your movies is an amazing experience that I share with countless other 80s kids. Thank you & we'll see you on the other side.
Everyone used to $hit on this movie, till they saw Ghostbusters(2016).
@Bealzer Mcgraw I had to rewatch Ghostbusters 2 after watching Ghostbusters (2016) to reaffirm who the real Ghostbusters are.
So True William Brinkley..
Lol, yep! Kinda like how most Star Wars used to shit on the prequels until TLJ was released. That movie made me appreciate the prequels
This movie was much better compared to the crappy remake
@@bofo85 For me i think that the Prequel where missing direction, i respect Gorges but hes not a very good director. But he tried the best he can, with the skill he got and envision the movie he wanted to see. From Gorges Lucas mouth, the movie i like to see are usually not the kind of movie people want to see.

Technically there is a Ghostbusters 3 with Bill Murray. The video game. It was written by Dan and Harold, staring the original Ghostbusters cast and is canon and Dan counts it as the third.
yup. uses elements of the original script for ghostbusters 3rd: the ghostbusters go to hell.
There was some swearing "Sometimes sh*t happens, someone has to deal with it, so who ya gonna call?
Despite what everyone says, even the actors, this is a very valid sequel. I loved it as a kid.
Ghostbusters was my childhood and when Ghostbusters afterlife came out I wasn't disappointed one bit! It was everything I wanted it to be! I'm looking forward to the new one! 😊
I love Ghostbusters 2. Of course it's not as good as the first, but nothing could have been. I still love both of them.
Its so strange how Bill can be loved so universally and still seem so far up his own arse that the fans who made him suffer for his attitude
The fact he hated Harold Ramis for no reason. Must be a pain in the ass to work with him
Roll on 2020 when Jason Reitman actually makes a proper Ghostbusters 3 😊
Ghostbusters is a Masterpiece and my favorite film from the 80s
Ghostbusters 2 is not as good but still Brilliant in my opinion
Ghostbusters 3 is
Ghostbusters the video game...
It's a very good game and I just wish it had been Ghostbusters 3 the movie...
I forget Ghostbusters 2016 ever happened, the Trailer was enough for me to know I will never ever see it!!!
Dude the trailer is already out lol
That comic writers did a greater service to the GB 2016 characters than their own movie should tell you all you need to know about said movie.
Good example: Poltergeist was a PG!
I remember Critters 2 being pg-13, with violence, blood, gore, and naked boobs... nowadays all the blood has to be toned down, or it's cutaway deaths, not gonna see nudity, and then get 1 fuck... times have changed.
