I also found you can force a save by just swapping your weapons in your load out, by simply changing a pistol to an smg in the menu for instance saves the game.
Don't really even need to change weapons. Just access the equipment/skills screen, and then try to quit, it'll say, last saved 0:02 seconds ago. Nice thing to know though.
The Ascent is like an art piece… The vibes of the music, detailed world, smooth movement and combat… This game just feels so good to play and get lost in. Truly an instant classic gem 💎
Amazing game... Now I'm level 10 and I can't get enough playing alone, even though I have friends to play with. Best game I played in long time so far. Incredible, immersive world and sweet sweet shooting! Ambient is one of the best I have ever seen. I guess, this is how Cyberpunk 77 should feel like.
Question. I bought the Ascent in order to play co-op with my friends. They play on XBOX while I play on PC. I heard it was possible. I played Outriders with them so I didn't expect any issues. The reality was much different. The game requires some XBOX Live interaction and I think it isn't possible to play cross-platform unless you buy the game from Microsoft instead of Steam. Does anyone have a different experience?
My biggest complaint is navigation. A quest marker will have you, at times, go to a total dead end forcing you to back track only to find you need to progress the story.
@@rexxsaur Sure, but what does that help me with finding other markers on the map, vaguely shown in a fucked up map that is almost impossible to read? What level am I on? What level are other symbols on? How can I get there? Take a guess, because the map will give you a piss in the face to figure that out. I mean, I love the game so far, but that portion is absolute crap. Maybe they wanted it to be this way. If that is the case, oh well, it's supposed to be "tough", but still: why even show the symbols at all? Why make me spend ALOT of time trying to find shit I can't get? Either you want to make a great game or you want to force people to spend more time in your game than they want or need. This game gives no more money more to the company selling it regardless of time. So why stick a time wasting garbage component in the game? Does hours played mean more than the overall experience?! Really?! It's pointless and frustrating. So: WHY?! WHY does it have to be so frustrating to navigate yourself?! It's shit. Why not put all the components into QUALITY? It's such a great game, why do crap like that navigation? It's utterly pointless and a serious flaw with the game.
@@carpetclimber4027 yeah you got a point. Navigation is time wasting or takes the fun out of going directly to the quest or find a certain item from the map.
The quality of this video is absolutely amazing. It's the kind of stuff I would expect from a channel with a million+ subs. Thanks so much! Very clear and well spoken with easy explanations not only for WHAT we should be doing, but why we should be doing it too.

Ive been gobsmacked with this game!!!! So frickin good!!! I actually finally bit the bullet n bought a "Series X" when i realised this wasn't released on PS. Stunning looking game...im amazed its from a 12-man team only......unbelievable!!!
its so well detailed for a game you only see from the top down view i watched the video with the unlocked first person camera and the detail goes all the way to writing on magazines and products on shop shelves or words moving on a screen you can even see realistic texture on skin and metal
Really digging this game. Wish they gave a couple more tips and tutorials within the game but overall enjoying the gameplay. I also really like that there is loot but not the typical random rolled loot that gets so damn boring in other games that forces you to grind for a god roll.
That really means more than you will ever know. We are constantly inspired by channels like SkillUp and ACG, and if we become part of that equation it would honestly be a dream come true.
I forgot to mention guys that the game has an automatic difficulty setting, like later in the game if you die to a two boss fight next time you'll only have to face one
I love it so far. Am about 3 hrs in. I was just exploring, figuring how things work, tried a lvl 10 side mission while i was lvl 3, learned how to aim and so on. I have the next 3 days off, should be a fun week end.
BEST damn guide I've seen on this. Arguably the best formating I have seen. It's clean, concise, with little access fat. To the point touching on the important things I came for without self fellatio. Thank you for this pro layout fellas. Keep up the great work! Nu Sub here..
I tried a level 23 mission at level 12. Had some crazy enemies popping in. Got lucky with a few kills and nice drops. It is worth fighting higher level enemies, might get much better loot or Augs.
High levels in this game seem perfectly handled - catch one or two on their own, you're fine. If they have numbers, you get overwhelmed and dropped aggressively. Would love to see them add in some sort of "stand off" system with the orange warning enemies. If you raise your weapons, have the enemy ready too, then you can engage or continue and break off before lowering your weapon. Maybe even a trust system built in with the different gangs. Getting ahead of myself, but the foundation here is so fucking good and they've made a lot of interesting game systems possible if they choose to expand that way. People rightly criticize the DEPTH of the RPG systems provided here, but unlike many other incomplete/unfinished games this does seem like it's just a well implemented "phase 1".
It also forces you to try different weapons/augs/etc to deal with them. Walked into “the edge” beside grinder super early. Was getting wreaked. Spent so much time just messing with 22-25lvl when I was sub 10
This game is awesome! I have played the game for about 6 hours today and so far, I have enjoyed every bit of it! Looking forward to play the game tomorrow/later on after I finish with some of the errands at home. All I can really say is it's a great game, it's fantastic, it's cyberpunk-themed (including the music!!), I have never expected to fall inlove with a game that is simple and very much easy to learn, yet the vibe of the game is just absolutely amazing!
Im about 5 hours into this game and I freaking love it. Such a cool vibe to the world. I also think I grabbed a super OP gun earlier than I should have so I am pretty much just walking through the game right now. I am sure it will get tougher, it was pretty tough before I got that gun, but I am having a blast.
Glad I haven't played too much just a little bit of the beginning but these tips are spot on and very much appreciated. The hacks are simple yet can go missed and are extremely useful thank you for that.
I finished the game without putting any points into evasion. You don't need it. Crit, health and powerfull augments. (Not biometric timestamp) and you'll be fine 👍
This is what cyberpunk should have been and tbh my favorite feature is the more you invest into stats the more chrome you get on your character it's really nice tbh and the game and the world are amazing
PlayStation + just added this game! I don’t play twin stick games, but since release I’ve been admiring this game from a far lol You know watching tip videos for games you don’t have. Can’t wait to get into this🤘🏼
Great tips and like how you guys did different play throughs. One kinda quick and you did a lot of the side quests. Planned on playing this after work tonight but unfortunately have to wait till the weekend now. Wonder if the Devs have any DLC planned. I’ve seen nothing but great reviews thus far and congrats to the indie team, Neon Giant from Sweden, for making this. 😘 🇸🇪.
I freaking LOVE this game TBH. I'm definitely hoping for a sequel, but I'd REALLY suggest they add this little thing called SPRINT. They could make it so you can't sprint during combat, I don't really care. I just wish you could get around faster than boosting everywhere with Javelin, especially with all the backtracking in this game. Oh, and actual accuracy upgrades for heavy weapons like mini guns.
This game is excellent. I know it was sold (to me at least) as a cyberpunk diablo type game. It isn't. It's waaaay more nuanced. And HARD! Which I dig. The weapons, skills, hacking, item upgrades, all work together so you can build, once you understand it well (which I'm still getting to grips with), exactly what you play like. Which is what everyone wants in a game I would think :)
Your professionalism and dedication to the gamer world is greatly appreciated. You definitely shine brighter than the rest. Keep up the great professional work 👌👍😎
Awesome tips. I'm 4 hours in and living every bit of it. Frustrating at times to get use to aiming but live tge Cybeprunk world. That other game wish it was a piece of this game. 👏👏
I've never played a game that so poorly explained itself. I really thank you for this video. Maybe now I can progress without being pissed off the whole time.
I agree. Devs were so engrossed into world building and making this game right in terms of gameplay that they forgot to inplement basic system of a game right. I dont blame them though. Its rare for a game company to be this passionate in this age. I hope they keep rolling out patches and changes few minor things like map and tracking system needs an overhaul. Cyberdeck hacking info should be precise etc.
Game auto saves often, and every time you jump into you’re journal. Only deaths pull you back in location only (everything you grabbed prior to dieting, you keep) Quick lvl up your cyber deck by grabbing the 2-3 easy ones in district 13, no mans land etc. then jump into a friends co-op (have a friend fire up a new game/etc) and grab them again. They stack. In co-op games you both get anything anyone else picks up. Score Don’t buy anything, almost everything you need, you will pickup free just by playing. Use your money for cab rides (remember 200k uncred is an achievement). Getting over a million is easy just from playing, no farming needed.
I had no idea about the taxi. Related to the hacking, you can apparently back enemies as well, not sure if it's worth doing, only thing I've noticed is making the invisible enemies visible... While giving them time to cut you to ribbons
i wish there was some indication of when we can use our rolling ability. im tired of being in the middle of a fight, surrounded....trying to roll away....but cant
Glad you enjoy them. We may take a little longer to get some things out, but we always want to make sure it's the best quality for the time we have to work with.
What do the "attributes" in armor do? "Head" "upper body" and "lower body". Does that just provide extra armor for those parts? Also, what is digital damage?
ICE is an acronym for Intrusion Countermeasures Electronics. Its an common defense system for digital data, from an cyberpunk perspective. Black ICE can even kill hackers from out of the cyberspace. Therefore you can not "ice" something, and technically ICE 1-3 is the level of defense of the system you're want to hack, not the level of you deck. ;)
I would not level up your Evasion unless you are sticking with shotguns and or the flamethrower. At high levels, hit points are far more important. Also, don't put points into Aiming, as it is a negligible skill. Critical is far more useful.
Just started playing love it already just tryna find my first cyberdeck, kinda thought it like a bualdurs gate kind of RPG definitely has the potential to become that style of rpg
Addendum to side missions: A lot of them will tell you to go to places that aren't unlocked yet but it won't tell you. And then, after you finally unlocked the location with the main mission, you often have to finish the main mission associated with that location before you can do the side content (e.g. "Lost and Found" and the Dream World club). This is very frustrating. Also, some of the level suggestions are broken. I picked up "Anabolic Express" as the first one. It has a level suggestion of 2 but you meed level 9 opponents on the way there. The Scraplands unlock around level 20 but the opponents there are level 25 (all with red skulls).
Love the game from what I have played. My only gripe is there is no random loot drops. Would be great to have a legendary gear system like The Division or Outriders.
Rather than an energy weapon in slot two... the digital damage shotgun. It killed a giant mech in EXTREMELY few shots while my other weapons were doing hardly any damage.
So I'm new to this game do you think you could make a video explaining the armor ratings and how the armor works I don't know what armor to pick cuz I don't understand any of these stats
This game surprised me. I wasn't really expecting much but I will oftentimes download a game on PC Gamepass, just so I can fell like I'm getting my money's worth but I got hooked on this game right away.
They just show up. They will have their names over their head. Keep going. Ive got like 4 already. They only pay out 1000 though. Just a battle bonus really
@@tumblingworm737 nice one mate, guess il just come across them then as am playing. Am only a few hours into it, still trying to understand the map lol
For me the most important thing I wish I knew about cyberdecks and ICE levels is that to open ICEd chest you need to first HACK it! Then open it! It is so not intuitive when you see the prompt of the wrong button while your level suggests you should easily open this chest…
I thought certain side quests were bugged because they wouldn't let me finish but apparently you need to unlock certain points in the main story before it let's you finish side quests... One that comes to mind is the Lost and Found quest. I kept getting a marker outside the club but no one was there. I gave up but kept playing the story and the club unlocked and the NPC I needed to speak to was inside that club. I hope they patch this in the future. Overall it's an awesome game.
i play on console and this game needs a sensitivity slider the movement speed of the targeting recital is like to fast makes my controller right thumbstick feel like its on 24.000 dpi is there any way to slow the speed down .
Thanks, I figured it was a game I needed to d9 more side and wondering around a bit. The hacking tip was huge. Hopefully this will help I was getting destroyed out there.
Please tell me what the difference in digital damage and energy damage is, i have no ifea if i should be spec-ing my armour for which one when fighting robots
Most players won't notice a substantial difference between digital and energy. I believe Digital is better at dealing with bigger inorganic targets (giant mechs) but honestly, you can get by with energy.
physical and energy good against pretty much anything physical slightly better against organic energy is better against robots fire is verry good against pure organics cant do shit against robotics or heavy augs digital good against robots and augs but inefective against organic targets smth like that if i understood it corectly. somebody correct me if i'm mistaken
@@daymont6724 what does digital damage to players? I feel like i was able to go through story as long as i had physical and energy protection fairly well
Got a sub from me! Great channel and videos! There's actually a TAXI system? Oh man this is easily, the Single, best piece of info to date for this game. Thank you so much! So many wasted hours of walking through maps ..... damn. This game is beautiful though! The setting, the music they really nailed it with this one. I really don't mind those countless hours I've wasted, walking through the whole map again to get back to a location, now knowing there is a TAXI system in place ....... honestly I don't!
PRO TIP: YOU CAN SPEED RELOAD! if you have a slow loading weapon if you swap weapons then swap back and then reload it will reload much much faster. It is good to pair weapons that complement each other that you don't mind swapping too! You don't have to have a normal weapon and an energy weapon like he states as you can pause and swap weapons in combat.
This game would be awesome with proceduraö dungoens and rng loot for endgame. Maybe some sort of greater rift system like in diablo with increasing difficulty
Great video. My only gripe is that it says The Ascent is an “ARPG” multiple times and never specifies what the “A” stands for in ARPG. It assumes that everyone already knows. I’ve never heard this term with an A at the beginning before.
@@LegacyGamingUS Thank You! Google was just pulling up multiple meanings for me. Very helpful video, I learned a handful of things that I did not know before.
Probably a silly question but how do I upgrade the tech? bro I got at least 2 of these but they do no raise my ICE level just by colecting them so, that do I need to go somewhere to activate them? I'm lost here...or is it just that MY GAME is bugged?

ICE is an acronym for Intrusion Countermeasures Electronics. Its an common defense system for digital data, from an cyberpunk perspective. Black ICE can even kill hackers from out of the cyberspace. Therefore you can not "ice" something, and technically ICE 1-3 is the level of defense of the system you're want to hack, not the level of you deck. ;)
Helpful tips. Thanks! Just started on the PS5. For $30 its a must buy
Great video. Was playing for 6 hours last night and didn’t figure out a lot of this. Thanks man
love this game.. want to learn more
Hey I’m looking for team mates on ps4? Just got it, let me no
This game is a hidden gem
All the gameplay storyline really amazing....remind me of "Shadowrun" SNES...almost the best Remake of "Shadowrun"
I just started today. Only had time for the beginning part. It's fun and took a bit to get use to the combat but I can't wait to play more.
Finally found a bid with actual helpful tidbits.
Saw this game on GamePass and had to try it. Initially tried on my Xbox but downloaded it via gamepass on my PC and WAY easier to control.
TY saving this for when I start playing this game!
I would not level up your Evasion unless you are sticking with shotguns and or the flamethrower. At high levels, hit points are far more important. Also, don't put points into Aiming, as it is a negligible skill. Critical is far more useful.
"don't sleep on evasion".
I've dumped all my first skill points into it to max 😂
In video he Literally has 0 in evasion... Lol
Evasion is not worth the skill points. You'll get by no problem without it due to gear.
@@goodsgaming6383 since there is no level cap, you will eventually max them all
@@goodsgaming6383 Once you unlock javelin dash, youll wish you dumped points into evasion
Wished we could zoom in during gameplay.
How can I beat the red spider boss?
Just started playing love it already just tryna find my first cyberdeck, kinda thought it like a bualdurs gate kind of RPG definitely has the potential to become that style of rpg
Addendum to side missions:
A lot of them will tell you to go to places that aren't unlocked yet but it won't tell you.
Upgrade your weapon. I killed lvl 25 at lvl 15.
Love the game from what I have played. My only gripe is there is no random loot drops. Would be great to have a legendary gear system like The Division or Outriders.
Its not really necessary since end game armor is really powerful
Absolutely amazing game
I hope that they have DLC coming
As a heads up some things like the taxi and damage types are in the codex turorial section 😊 great guide thank you!
Rather than an energy weapon in slot two... the digital damage shotgun.
It killed a giant mech in EXTREMELY few shots while my other weapons were doing hardly any damage.
What's the name of that digital shotgun? I am scouring the game for a digital weapon, but I don't seem to find one yet ..
@@hatemhsk9270 The bitsplit, I think.
It's not really worth the trouble of using in my opinion. Unless you expect to be facing a giant mech.
Downloaded
Played the heck out of it for 5 days straight
Finished all missions
Now feels empty. 😔
I ran for 5 days straight, now i'm tired but i don't know why!🤷
Thanks guys, video really helped
Actually useful tips, just started the game yesterday, man was i lost.
So I'm new to this game do you think you could make a video explaining the armor ratings and how the armor works I don't know what armor to pick cuz I don't understand any of these stats
My favorite game of 2022 so far
This game surprised me. I wasn't really expecting much but I will oftentimes download a game on PC Gamepass, just so I can fell like I'm getting my money's worth but I got hooked on this game right away.
The Ascent is truly a gem
@@LegacyGamingUS hey I just got it, I’m looking for team mates?
How do you get bounties tho? I've found the people who collect the bounties but not the actual bounties?
They just show up. They will have their names over their head. Keep going. Ive got like 4 already. They only pay out 1000 though. Just a battle bonus really
@@tumblingworm737 nice one mate, guess il just come across them then as am playing. Am only a few hours into it, still trying to understand the map lol
For me the most important thing I wish I knew about cyberdecks and ICE levels is that to open ICEd chest you need to first HACK it! Then open it!
It is so not intuitive when you see the prompt of the wrong button while your level suggests you should easily open this chest…
Exactly ! They could have added a text telling us to "hack and open" instead of just "open "
Yeah the side quest pre reqs are a bit odd and the game doesn’t do a good job explaining it. Other than that the missions themselves are all solid
Should i play with pad or mouse input?
I just picked up the game a few days ago. Appreciate the tips
Hope you enjoy it!
i play on console and this game needs a sensitivity slider the movement speed of the targeting recital is like to fast makes my controller right thumbstick feel like its on 24.000 dpi is there any way to slow the speed down .
Yea fucking shitt
actually useful, thanks a lot. Im loving the game.
Thanks, I figured it was a game I needed to d9 more side and wondering around a bit. The hacking tip was huge. Hopefully this will help I was getting destroyed out there.
Good vid! Thanks, bro!!
Please tell me what the difference in digital damage and energy damage is, i have no ifea if i should be spec-ing my armour for which one when fighting robots
Most players won't notice a substantial difference between digital and energy. I believe Digital is better at dealing with bigger inorganic targets (giant mechs) but honestly, you can get by with energy.
physical and energy good against pretty much anything
physical slightly better against organic
energy is better against robots
fire is verry good against pure organics cant do shit against robotics or heavy augs
digital good against robots and augs but inefective against organic targets
smth like that if i understood it corectly. somebody correct me if i'm mistaken
I like how you can die and die again with no penalties and respawn near the area you died
Though I got stuck for a while, I had fun doing it
Omg the taxi service lol played 4 hours last night going back and forth to opposite sides of the map was frustrating.
You and me both Logan
Dude saaaaame I had no clue there was a taxi service
PRO TIP: YOU CAN SPEED RELOAD! if you have a slow loading weapon if you swap weapons then swap back and then reload it will reload much much faster. It is good to pair weapons that complement each other that you don't mind swapping too! You don't have to have a normal weapon and an energy weapon like he states as you can pause and swap weapons in combat.
This game would be awesome with proceduraö dungoens and rng loot for endgame. Maybe some sort of greater rift system like in diablo with increasing difficulty
Very helpful, cheers mate
Great video. My only gripe is that it says The Ascent is an “ARPG” multiple times and never specifies what the “A” stands for in ARPG. It assumes that everyone already knows. I’ve never heard this term with an A at the beginning before.
Hey there Michel, sorry for the lack of an explaination. It stands for Action-RPG.
@@LegacyGamingUS Thank You! Google was just pulling up multiple meanings for me. Very helpful video, I learned a handful of things that I did not know before.
Dayummmn is jus beat the game yesterday 7 hr stream absolutely dope but dayummmn those tips 🔥🔥🔥👍🏿
Probably a silly question but how do I upgrade the tech? bro I got at least 2 of these but they do no raise my ICE level just by colecting them so, that do I need to go somewhere to activate them? I'm lost here...or is it just that MY GAME is bugged?
Game made me rewatched Blade Runner, good shit!
Same
How you supposed to take out the dudes with the yellow orbs that make them invincible.
Depending on your console use the aim button and shoot the robot out the air.
@@kyuubifox100
Oh you mean the aim high button. Left trigger on xbox lol. I tried shooting it didnt think to aim high. Thanks man game is too new couldn't find anything on it.
I’m probably 4 hours in and my ICE is not upgrading. I have found cyberdeck upgrades but it’s not leveling it. Not sure if it’s bugged or what.
You need multiple cyberdecks to get to ice 2 on chests and doors.
is there somewhere in the game that explains what all the damage symbols mean as well as descriptions for all the other stats?
2 questions. In stats I see "Digital" and "Fire". What are these? The game doesn't really describe what these do.
