I dont know where yall are a getting 15 from he avg 10 on that championship team on 9 shots and making 4, whereas melo was taking 18 shots his rookie year and shot a worse percentage than tayshuan, so it’s easy to say melo wouldn’t avg 20 when you use logic.

@@tellthetruthrightnow like Gil said Melo would’ve been another harden on OKC or Manu on the Spurs, because of how Larry Brown would’ve used him. Rip was taking 15 shots and Chauncey and Rasheed were taking 13 and all three still had to play defense, so to think Melo would get anywhere close to the amount of shots they got on a Larry Brown team when he prioritized team and defense is crazy.

Just think about it this way. Michael Jordan damn near played for the minimum until late in his career. MJ chose to optimize his team over the NBA contract. So his off court endorsements shined because of his winning status as the greatest.

Actually, Ben Wallace said he feels they would not have ever won a Championship if they drafted Melo because Melo was already a star and the chemistry would have been affected because Melo would have wanted more playing time. There's a reason there have been reports throughout Melo's career of him causing issues due to his selfishness, including from Chauncey Billups who stated Melo was too concerned with getting scoring numbers, that scoring was often more important to Melo than even winning the game. Larry Brown had Melo on the bench during the Olympics, and Melo basically discarded his medal. That's the kind of mindset and behavior that causes issues.

Depends on what you’re arguing. Yea Melo could have been a better player if drafted by the Pistons but better than Lebron? C’mon. That’s pretty much saying Melo would have been the GOAT because there’s only one player that has an argument over Lebron. Lebron has 40000 points and 10000 rebounds/assists. Melo ain’t getting that no matter who he’s drafted by. Y’all tripping just like Mcants.

When Melo was drafted he went into a better situation than Bron and always had the better team ( his first stint in Cleveland ) and didn’t do anything. He had every chance to have a better career and choose not to🤷🏽

I read somewhere long ago that Chauncey Billups is the only player in NBA history with a winning record vs Lebron, Kobe, and MJ. Furthermore, melo had the most success when Chauncey was on the Denver team with him. Chauncey is a grossly underrated leader and floor general

Gil is all nonsense. Det would have repeated 04 & 05, Melo and piston would have went down as all time greats. Melo would have learned from the pistons to play hard defense and would have been a great 2-way player
